Quadrille

In my youth

summers in the country

meant freedom.

We ran everywhere

in this hilly terrain.

Climbing trees

and sometimes falling

from trees.

Gliding through the air on the

swing meant feet brushed the

tops of other trees.

Well engraved memories –

the Invincible Period.

Thursday Doors – Manhattan

I was in the city this morning for a doctor’s appointment. I came across these doors. Lovely , I thought. And all on one block.

Am loving the details on these two doors
A nice weathered looking wood door
This one is outstanding
Here is a closeup of the one above
I really like this one. Some resemblance to a Greek key involved here.
A shot of a window in this building is below
This one is the window to the building for the door above

I can’t imagine how much it would cost to have one of these security doors made now.

That’s it for this week. A good weekend to all.

Thursday Doors

Hello everyone! I posted this house on Thursday Doors before.

It popped up just now as I was going through the archives. For the life of me I could remember where in Brooklyn this was. So. I googled the photo and a whole page of photos of this very house popped up.

I wonder if the owners are aware  of how well photographed their house is.

It’s a Victorian, well, a Queen Anne, built in 1902 by the architect, Thomas Benton Ackerson
