Well, look who's back!!! I have had so much happening since I posted last.
I have barely been able to keep up. Some good things and some not so good things.
Either way we face them head on and "try" to not let them get us down.
We're not always successful at that last part, but we know our God is a big God.
This post is quite heavy on photos. I have so many blog posts backlogged. Instead of going backwards to get started again, I decided I would just start with the most recent event.
That is our Brooklin's 7th birthday party.
I will get to the other posts because they are a must but in the meantime, on to Brooklin's party.
This little girl is absolutely, most definitely in love with art.
In which way she can, she gets her art in. Sometimes it's not even in the form of paper and paint.
She makes things from her french fries, she sees a sign in the store and shares her view on what it looks like, she sees shapes in clouds that we don't see, many other amazing stories about this special little girl but just know, she loves all forms of art.
Her claim from the time she could talk is, "I'm going to be an artist when I grow up!!"
I really do not doubt that statement at all.
We decided there would be nothing more appropriate than an artful birthday party.
So we called in the professional!!
We went to the Art Studio!
They way I ended up there is a whole different story but for now,
here are the pics from Brooklin's special day.
This is Brooklin and Suzanne.
The special art teacher for the day. She was perfect!!
Brooklin absolutely loved her!
She was so great with the kids and also what she taught them, I wanted to be a student too:))
This is the food table. We had pizza, juice boxes and cupcakes.
Super simple for mom!!
Suzanne did all the real work.
This is Kayak! He was so sweet and stayed under the table away from the hot sun.
The giant plastic color crayons in the back of the picture below were the party favors for the guests.
They're actually piggy banks. The children loved them.
Then of course they took their paintings home too.
The cupcakes! Thanks Aunt Sheri for your last minute cupcake topper help.
Couldn't do these kids parties without you!
The sweet party girl!! She was soooo happy.
While I was setting up she told me, "Mom, all my favorite things are here!"
Suzanne started the day with a story. The story wasn't just any story. It got the children looking at the pictures and pulled things out of it for their imagination art warm-up.
Suzanne really had their attention.
This is the fun cabinet where all the goodies are kept. For starters the aprons.
Everyone is set to go!
Apron's on, large paper canvas in front of them.
Now all we need is paint!
Brooklin, the party girl, ready to get messy!
Suzanne is sharing the Picasso painting with the party guests.
She's sharing with them how to look at the painting and what to pull out of it.
Carried over from the story book.
Let the fun begin...bring on the color, put on the sky!
Suzanne helping Brooklin.
Now they have a sky and grass.
Shine got into it too. She wanted to paint!
Kameron too! Even the big ones had fun!!
Heck, I should have grabbed some paint too, but then I wouldn't have had any pictures.:((
It's costume time! While we waited for the background to dry, Suzanne pulled out all the fun costumes. The children were asked to pick out a costume, anything they would wear if they were in the circus.
This was Kameron's choice, of course.
Brooklin's choice. I love this on her. It fits her personality.
Even little Coco got into the fun!
This is the whole group of circus fun!
Now they go back to painting..this time with their costumes on.
They will paint the body of their circus worker.
She's working so very hard.
She is really into this.
I love to watch her gift in action.
Again, while waiting for layer 2 of the painting to dry,
the guests removed their costumes and headed to the table for lunch.
The party girl enjoying her pizza. No wasting time eating here though. She was done first.
My party helpers and guests. Love these two!
The whole clan on top of the jungle gym.
Suzanne created this birthday surprise for Brooklin.
It was on the inside of the bathroom door.
So special, so cute.
Birthday cupcake and 7 curly candles. I love her cheeks.
What was in the cake? She turned into a chicken.
Back to the painting. Now it's time to dress the circus worker.
What do you think they will dress them in?
That's right the exact costumes they were wearing earlier.
A peek over Kameron's shoulder.
Remember the curly black wig he sported earlier?
He did a great job showing it.
A peek over Brooklin's shoulder...
A closeup of Brooklin making the face on her circus star.
Three of my kiddo's. I love them all. Little Coco was in her stroller.
A few of the paintings from our little artists. Such beautiful color! I love it!
Present time!!
A special delivery from Suzanne.
After all the presents were opened, Suzanne appeared and said this...
"Brooklin, you have one last surprise. Do you know someone in TN?
Is her name Aunt Sheri?
Well, Aunt Sheri called me and asked me to give you a special present."
She pulled out a paper rolled up with a tag attached.
Then she helped Brooklin open it. I was surprised too, so much that I almost forgot to take pics.
Then she said, "Aunt Sheri wants you to come to the Art Studio this summer for a whole week."
Brooklin was so excited!! I think it took a bit to set in and understand exactly what that meant.
Then when she figured it out, she was very excited and said,
"I get to come here everyday this summer, to learn art and go swimming."
Thank you Aunt Sheri!! Brooklin is so excited and looking forward to going to the Art Studio this summer. Not just is Brooklin excited, I am soooo excited for her.
This means so much to me because it is so special to Brooklin.
Thank you again for being Auntie. You always make each one of your kiddo's feel like they are the only one you have. Thank you and we love you!!!
This is a picture of everyone with their completed art work.
The special party girl with her artwork!!
I love it!
We had a great time at the Art Studio. It was the perfect party for Brooklin.
A huge thank you to all Brooklin's guests and to Suzanne for teaching the guests.
Thank you to Bernie and Bethany and the big boys too...for the Color Me Mine gift certificate and a gift card to Michael's craft store. She is completely expecting a day of it ladies with lunch included. Just not Chuck E. Cheese, PLEASE!!! lol!
She is excited about going shopping for more crafty items and making a great ceramic art too.
Thanks to all!! We love you!
Well, I should hang it up for now. This is a super long post.
It's been a while and I had to get the birthday post in.
I still have to post Addi's first birthday party and Shine's Sweet 16.
Told you I'm behind.
That's it for now!!
Til next Time with T!!!
