so behind...

Thanks to my sister in-law, Rachy, I realized I have not updated the blog in far too long. So, Rachel, you wanted an update, here is way more than you asked for. :)

Here is one of Elsie's classic looks lately. She does this really sweet, content face.
And this is how she plays peek-a-boo. It's hilarious!
Justin and I started off the month of February with the goal of not eating sugar for the whole month. Jorgen got wind of it and told us he wanted to do it with us. And he was serious! He was such a trooper, passing up treats here and there to keep up with his goal. UNTIL, cupcakes came to our doorstep on Valentine's Day. Jorgen said he was going to start no sugar again the next day. So he got a cupcake. Can you tell how much he loved it?!

And of course Lady Shells was all over them as well.
I was able to resist the urge to indulge but couldn't help take pictures of and with my cuties!

Jorgen started his first soccer team and he is loving it. His team is so much fun and he has made lots of great friends. He has improved so much since the first game and is loving learning the ins and outs of soccer.
Go Lighting!

After his first game, we went over to the park and played for a bit. Shelley and Elsie enjoyed sporting their shades in the bright sun.
And being tossed up in the air...
Shelley has recently been the Food Wanderer lately. She likes to carry her meals around with her (especially when I am distracted doing something...because food is 'supposed' to stay in the kitchen!). One day, she decided she didn't want to hold her smoothie anymore and set it down on the floor. Little Els was quick. And she was in heaven with her find!
Honestly, she makes the cutest faces! She is one happy girl!
We had some visitors come the first week of March. MY PARENTS! Wow, I miss them so much. It was heavenly having them come. They spent endless hours with the children, provided the most enjoyable conversations, fixed and invented things in my home (my Dad turned my armoire into a desk...which I am currently using and loving it!) and just made us happy, SO HAPPY! We miss you Tutu and Grandpa!!!
I think the most memorable thing for the kids was how much soccer they got to play with them. I think Jorgen was out there 90% of the time we were at home. And even despite my Dad just having a bunionectomy one month ago, he played and played and played with Jorgen. Jorgen won't stop talking about how Tutu and Grandpa played so many games with him. Jorgen and Grandpa even had a little tournament one day. Complete with snacks between games and a prize for the winner. It was a blast.

The two Shelleys playing.
My Mom is so much fun. Really, she is always happy and positive and full of love.

Tutu and Jorgen!

I love this picture, my Mom looks like she's dancing.
Dancing through life...da da da dat da...

Tutu keeping score.

Seriously, this man had bunion surgery and was out there like a champ (and elevating his foot at night to recover from all the foot work!)

What a pair!

We miss you two!!!! Come back!
On a random note, this is Elsie after she crawled through the barstool one day. I love her little toes. She looks like she trying to work out her back side.
On an exciting note (if you consider aging "exciting"), I turned 29! Crazy how time flies. One year wiser...so they say! Though I feel as if each year depletes more and more of my brain cells. Will I ever get them back?
I had a wonderful birthday. It consisted of:
Yoga in the am (I got a gym pass and it has changed my life, really)
Sorting through my food co-op food (I heart Bountiful Baskets)
Lots of time with my chilibeans
Leisurely time getting ready for the day while Just took Jorg to soccer and the girls napped
A hot date with my best friend, Justy.
My favorite food: Sushi
A very fun couple over for my favorite game, Settlers (the birthday girl did NOT win, unfortunately)
Lots of treats
It was a very good day!

Because of the timing with everything that day, we didn't celebrate it with the kids until the next day. Justin, with the help of his little admirers, surprised me with a very stupendous cake. My favorite kind, an ice cream cake!
It was delicious!

I have the best family! :)
This is another random picture that may look like nothing special but I really want to remember moments like these. I was doing something and came into the kitchen to find this. All three kids playing together. Despite their age difference, they still find joy in doing things together and helping one another out. Warms my heart!
And ever wondered what size of bowl Jorgen chooses when he gets to eat cereal?
THE BIGGEST ONE WE HAVE!

And what about Shelley?
the tiniest one we have
She likes tiny things, and trinkets, and anything itty bitty.
(mom, does this sound like me?)

And who do you think gets endless attention from her siblings?
ELSIE!
She is so loved by her siblings. They both like their chairs to 'touch' Elsie's chair when we eat at the table. They just can't get enough of her, must be those chubby little cheeks and powdery blue eyes!

We love you Shelley, Elsie and Jorgen!
