A Christmas Miracle!

Today I went to Costco and I got gas for $1.69 a gallon. When I was filling up my tank clicked off at 23 dollars and I rubbed my eyes and to my delight it was in fact the price for a full tank of gas! It was a Christmas Miracle! I hope this sort of thing continues, especially as Chad and I are driving to Utah for Christmas!

Wham Caroling!

A few years ago my friend Ryan went caroling with a full band and with possibly one of the most depressing/and yet awesome Christmas songs ever! Enjoy!

Wedding photobooth!

One of my favorite things about our wedding is that we had our own photo booth! My brother Mike built it for me, THANKS MIKE! Kendra was the photo booth operator THANKS KENDY! and Cosi let us use her computer, THANKS COSI! Here are some fun photo booth photos from our wedding! It was so much fun to look through and remember how fun our wedding was. My only regret is that Chad and I didn't get a wedding day photo booth pic! Oh well! we have PLENTY of others. I posted ALL the photo booth on facebook that you can check out Here and Here. Thank you to everyone who came to support us!

Gibson/Doxey Family Pictures

The Gibson/Doxey Family picture has been 6 years in the making and my wedding is just about as close as our family might get to getting an 'official' picture of everyone (Sorry Clayson I know you missed it!)

After scouring over the pictures and photohopping: Clay, Elizabeth, Spencer, Heidi D, Ian, Julie, Hannah, Brynne, Allie, Lindsey, Kendy, Siera, Trent, Nathan, Ammon, Aubrey, Mitchel, Becky, Amber, Leah and mom's hair (That is 21 people!) NOW 22! I just added clayson between Heidi and Clay!

We finally got a picture where everyone is actually looking at the camera (albeit squinting). I did my best with what I had to work with! haha You guys were good sports and THANK YOU for Emilie for photographing my wedding and family. A big THANK YOU to all my family who did so much for us in preparing and pulling off the most perfect wedding I could have ever asked for! I love you guys and can't wait to see you at Christmas! I attached the BEFORE picture below so you can see everyone's face/body/hair I swapped!

Happy Holidays

Happy Holidays from the Timmrecks! Chad and I set up our 'first' Christmas tree as a married couple! It was so much fun and our house looks and SMELLS a lot like Christmas!
We both used family ornaments and a mix of vintage and new ornaments to make our tree look beautiful!
We spent this Thanksgiving with Chad's Family. The Timmrecks and they proved to be a really fun bunch of people. Ellen, Chads mom, really went all out with the dinner and Julie, Chads sister provided the beautiful centerpieces. We had a fun shooting photos, hanging out, eating food, celebrating Nasta (Santas unruly ugly step brother and his horrid gift giving tradition). We even had time for a little post thanksgiving shopping and went and enjoyed the lights down in Riverside at the old Mission Inn.
Right before we all started digging in! The food was A-MAZ-ING! This is my amazing husband, isn't he cute!

Here are a few shots I took of Chad's nephews and sister and the beautiful table setting and centerpieces.
Thanksgiving weekend we also got a chance to do a Timmreck sibling photoshoot (Thanks for doing it!) Over all it was an awesome Thanksgiving and I can't wait to visit my family in Utah for Christmas!

Dreams

The other night Chad and I were discussing strange dreams we had, and I thought I might start a dream journal because lets be honest, dreams are WEIRD. Given my history of talking in my sleep, spouting off such things as 'Warlocks eat nuts' and '... Was it Dora the explorer lunchbox? or the Dragon one?'. I've decided I am a totally different person when I sleep than when I am awake. Apparently my dreams are haunted with fanciful tales of wizards and dragons and cartoon characters.

The other night I dreamt that I decided to cut my own hair (which is odd because i just cut off a ton and I happen to love it!) So, in my dream I decided that the front of my hair was too long so I cut it myself. I cut my hair and looked in the mirror and to my HORROR I cut my hair into a lop sided Dorothy Hammil bowl cut!!! AHHHHHHH apparently in my dream life I want to be a hair stylist with a sadistic sense of humor or a fantastic figure skater. If anyone has any random dreams to share I would LOVE to hear them.

Thanksgiving Tag

Thanksgiving is upon us and I feel that I have so very much to be thankful for! My friend Jessica, even in light of some really hard trials took the time to blog about what she is thankful for. It really impressed me and inspired me to be more grateful for even little things and keeping a positive and hopeful attitude, even in the midst of adversity! For thanksgiving tag you just write out the letters of your name and think of something that you are grateful for.

E- Emotions: I know at times I can be overly emotional but I am so grateful for all my emotions good and bad, especially the ability to love and to feel empathy for others.

M- My family: Being away from most of my family has been hard and really made me appreciate them more. Also, since being married I have a new family! Chad is so wonderful and his family has really made me feel welcome with them.

I- Inspiration and Intelligence: I am so grateful that I was able to gain an education and that I learn more everyday and that I gain inspiration and grow spiritually as I take measures to continue to study things of the mind and of the spirit.

L- Little things: A little note left by my husband, a smile from someone, the fact that its raining after weeks of hot weather, great friends who still keep in touch even though I live thousands of miles away, making new friends here in California, a really sweet visit from my VT, and words and acts of kindness and love from my husband.

Y- You! Yes I know it may be cheesy but YOU encompasses all my friends and family who care enough to check up on me on my blog (and even those who don't!). I am grateful for friends who make me stronger and support me and make me so happy!

I tag: ANYONE who reads this because everyone should take the time to be grateful, not just on the week of thanksgiving, but everyday. I writing down what I am grateful for (even in this small list) has really made me realize how blessed I am.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Fall in Cali

So, a long long time ago I talked about chopping my hair off but never actually got around to it. I was inspired by Elin chopping off her long hair of many years and thought I would do the same (in almost the same cut! haha Sorry if I am a copy cat) but I thought it was so adorable and I thought it would be a style that I would like. After changing my mind and researching photos I finally got up the guts to do it.

I went to this adorable little place in Burbank that I've been wanting to go to since Chad and I got married. Six months later, I went to Frenchy's this adorable little retro style salon that was totally fun and I ended up loving haircut! I put a before picture so you can all see how much I cut off (about 7 inches) and to show you what a little makeup and a great haircut can do!
A few weeks ago I had some of my first non-wedding related visitors! Caren and Annika came to visit. One of the best parts of the visit was it gave me an excuse to go to Disneyland around halloween! It was awesome!
Some of the highlights included not waiting in hardly ANY lines,we went on everything and on matterhorn and space mountain twice. This is me psyched that I got to go on the teacups (because Chad doesn't like them).
Caren had an eventful Disney trip and quit her job somewhere between the line for Peter Pan and wandering around Toon Town! She was so happy to have quit her job and at Disneyland none the less! She made a sign to email to her work via a Buzz Lightyear picture but Disney vetoed the picture so we took one ourselves!
Since I wanted to take advantage of my freedom to go on the Teacups, Caren and I went on the teacups 8, YES 8 times! Part of the reason for our multiple Teacups trip had to do with the fact that we had a fast pass for Space Mountain and couldn't cross the road due to a fanciful 'parade of dreams' or something. We just kept going back and back until the parade was over. In case you are worried about my equilibrium, we actually stopped spinning the cups after ride number 3. Either way, I got my fill of teacups for the next 7 trips to Disneyland!
Caren and I got cute matching minnie ear clips! Aren't we annoyingly adorable!
Here are some pictures from Halloween. We had a pretty un-eventful one. No trick or treaters, no parties. Pretty much just Chad and I. But I wanted to get dressed up because I got some cute purple and black striped tights that looked pretty witchy so I opted to be a Witch and Chad went as the Unabomber!
Notice he is even holding a package and looking extra creepy. We went out for dinner and visited some friends! It was a quiet but really fun Halloween.
These are some pics of Caren and Annika on our whirlwind trip of LA. Right after I picked them up from the airport I dropped them off at the Star Walk/Chinese Theater because I had to rush off to job interview. Then we met up and went shoe shopping. After that we headed to westwood village for some yummy greek food at this amazing little place Daymon and Pthyias After lunch we went the true LA style and got Pedi's (Pedicures to those who dont speak LA).
After getting beautiful soft feet we headed to Santa Monica and the pier where we rode on the ferris wheel, ate funnel cakes and made ourselve sick, watched the sunset, saw a japanase TV show being filmed and part of 'Without a Trace' TV show being filmed as well! It was radical!
After the fun at the peir we hit some shops on 3rd street. The next day we got lunch at this healthy corner shop and checked out the cute vintage and antique shops on Magnolia Avenue in Burbank. We DEFINATELY hit up Yummy Cupcakes for the best cupcakes in the world. Annika left us to visit some mission families and friends so Caren, Chad and I went to the LA Temple, The Griffith Observatory and of course Caren and I finished with Disneyland. If you want to see more pictures from our adventures check them out on facebook! A few hours after dropping Caren off at the airport I went to yet another job interview, stay tuned and I will let you all know where I end up working full time, in the meantime I am still working doing freelance photoshop from home. I added this last photo to the blog to prove to Ellen (Chad's mom) and to anyone else who is interested, that Chad pulls his weight around the house. Cleaning the fridge out has to be one of my least favorite things in the world. For the record, I did a pre-purge of all the gross food and Chad, my amazing husband, really got in and cleaned the fridge with pure elbow grease and love! Thanks Chad!

Getty Center

A few weeks ago Chad and I went the Getty Center with Ellen and Julie (Chad's mom and sister). We had so much fun looking at the art, the beautiful gardens and of course the amazing architecture!

One of my favorite parts about the Getty are the maze like gardens with all sorts of interesting plants. Its great to see flowering plants in the fall and winter. We even saw a tiny pomegranate tree with tiny pomegranates. The Getty has so many sweet little walkways, cozy benches and spongy grass. It also has some of the best views of the city from the structures and on the tram on the way up.

It was awesome to spend time with Chads mom and sister! They are so fun and funny they make me feel right at home in the family!

Since the Getty is open til 9 pm on saturday night be got to enjoy this amazing sunset!

After the Getty we went to this yummy conveyor belt sushi restaurant!

Ellen doesnt care too much for sushi but she even found stuff she liked. I came to the realization that I LOVE yellow tail sashimi (basically a piece of raw fish on a bed of rice) The idea originally HORRIFIED me but Chad taught me to love it!

A week later, Annika and Caren came to visit me in LA. We also went the the Getty but the pictures were tragically deleted! sorry guys! I will post more pics from our adventures in Santa Monica and Disneyland soon.
