Update
This week has been a recovery from girls camp. I also did some photoshoots, and had my brother Dan and family in town visiting this weekend! We had a blast hanging out with the Doxey's, showing them around Burbank, taking them to Griffith Park, and yesterday we went to Magic Mountain. This week I am going down to orange county for some beach time with the Doxeys and a photoshoot! Stay tuned for pics and stories.

California Doxey Dreamin'
This month The NY DOX clan were in southern california! It was great to have them come stay for a while and got a chance to hang out with Amber and the Girls and it has been a blast with Doug as well! We did a lot of fun stuff. Travel Town, Griffith observatory, the beach, hollywood, Rodeo drive, burbank portos, disneyland, the LA temple, DeDe Reese and just spending time hanging out!
Check out NY Doxey's blog for more info!

Autopia was a hit with the girls, Paige had to put on leah's shoes so that she would be tall enough to ride. They both were able to drive, and leah's face pretty much explains it all!

The girls loved the characters (esp the princesses) and had a blast dancing in the parade at disneyland!

Chad had fun chasing our umbrella.

Doug, Amber and I were loving the weather and boogie boarding. Doug, Chad and I went back again this weekend.

Not my first encounter with a shark on the shore but definitely freaky none the less. While Amber and I were playing in the waves we had a 3-4 foot leopard shark swim between us. I still have my doubts as to if the guys believed us but I know what I saw.

Posing for pics at the LA temple!

The Hollywood sign and the griffith observatory are some of my favorite places to take people when they visit. It is fun at night but all great views and great to run around in the day.

I just love my cute, cute nieces, over all it was an awesome time.

Come on down.... or not

We made some friends in line. A few fine cougars from Torrance, and a nice guy from Arkansas that had driven cross country only to have his friend get food poisoning from a Vegas $4.99 Steak and Eggs special (who saw that one coming?). At 1 pm we actually entered the studio, which was surreal, it was like stepping into the past and they were blasting disco to get the crowd pumped up. It was fun to just see the studio. It is much smaller than you imagine, tiny even! It is very psychedelic and groovy inside! I loved all the positive energy, everyone was psyched and the crew were funny and the sets were really fun and almost magical.

We sat right behind the 4 bidders (next to a huge african american guy) with our red Drewbama shirts so we think that we definitely got on camera. Sadly, we didn't get called up. HOWEVER, just when we thought we would the day couldn't get ANY better we found out that BOB BARKER, in the flesh, was going to be making a guest appearance on the show during the showcase showdown, BOB came out and presented the showcases with Drew Carey. As a way to promote his new book 'Priceless Memories'.
No offense to Drew, but... I LOVE Bob! I always have and always will! I have wanted to see him on the price is right in person and now my dream has become a reality. At the end of the show the gave everyone in the audience a copy of his new book of memoirs about his life and the Price is Right.

The show is going to air on APRIL 16th, so everyone set your TIVOS and VCRS and look out for Carie and I as we bask in our fifteen minutes of fame. You can also check out news articles about Bob on the show and you may see us in pics or on Entertainment Tonight, Inside addition, Access Hollywood or Entertainment Weekly. Because many of their news people were there to 'cover' the historic show with Bob and Drew together!

The Price is Right

In a few weeks my friend Carie, is coming to visit me from Missouri. Since we were in High School together we have always dreamed of going to 'The Price is Right'. So our dreams are becoming a reality! In preparation for our hopefully getting on the show and winning jet skis we are price shopping and going to make some witty t-shirts to wear in that they will increase our changes to get us on the show. I am posting a few of my T-shirt ideas and wanted to put it to a vote of which one everyone likes best. Or if you have any witty or cool ideas that would be fun let me know!

This one is Drew's head pasted on Bob Barkers Body, I thought it was funny.

Some other ideas I have are to make Drew into a Warhol painting, Or to have a black and white drew face with a big red lip smooch on the forehead saying something lame like, we love you Drew*.
*For the record, I think Bob Barker is the only one for me, Drew sadly, is a substitue but I am not opposed to sucking up to someone who I loathe (for making 'who's line is it anyway' show LAME!) just to get on a TV show and win a bunch of money and a new car! hahah

The happiest place on earth!
This weekend I was lucky to have Mike and Becky and Family come visit! Mike was doing a medical training so Becky, the kids, their instructors and I spent Thursday and Friday at Disneyland and California adventure. It was so much fun to be with family. Aubrey has proven to be very brave because she rode on every ride. She even rode in the very front of California screaming with me! Trent was brave by going on Tower of Terror for the first time, only to be outdone by Mitchel (age 4) crying because he wanted to go on TT as well! Afterward Becky asked Mitchell if he wanted to go again and with an ashen face he said he never wanted to go on that again. Hopefully he isn't scarred for life!We went on the Grizzly rapids early in the day but we all had the bright idea of wearing our sweatshirts on the outside so as not to get our normal clothes wet. The first time through was fine, I hardly got wet at all but laughed hardily when Aubrey and Stephanie got drenched, so as luck would have it the second time around I got so soaked that every bit of clothing I was wearing got sopping wet. It actually looked as though I reverse peed my pants because in between my legs was the only dry part! The rest of the day was spent trying to dry out our sweatshirts for the evening, which worked out in the end.
Aubrey was psyched to see a high school musical 3 live performance, we saw it 1.5 times, much to the delight of the rest of the group! I can safely say it is my first and last experience with HSM3. However, it was fun see how she got really into the songs and dancing. She is such an amazing singer! Trent loved the Muppets in 3D, which was actually really cute and funny. If you love the Muppets then you MUST go to this one! My favorite is always soaring over California, it gives me the chills and I just love it!
After the Disney/CA fun Mike and Family made the arduous journey on the 5 freeway to come and visit Chad and I in Burbank. We showed them all around our little town and the different studios here, they got a peek our tiny apartment and then we went to dinner at the famous (and oldest original) Bob's Big Boy.
Later we went to Griffith Observatory which is one of my favorite places to take visitors because it has such beautiful views of the city and night. It was so warm that we didn't really even need a sweatshirt outside at night. Trent, is a science freak so it was neat to see him get excited about all the displays and information inside and we got to look at the moon and Saturn on their big telescopes. We even had time to share some yummy cupcakes while looking out at the city!
It was so awesome to have Family in town, it really made me miss everyone in Utah but it is always such a great thing to have visitors! (Hint, Hint, Nudge, Nudge). Thanks Gibson's for coming to visit. For those of you out there wanting to come visit, please do, I have a comfortable couch and a nice air mattress, and I just got an early B-day present from Chad, A season pass to Disneyland! So everyone, come play with me in the warm 70-80 degree weather.

Fall in Cali
So, a long long time ago I talked about chopping my hair off but never actually got around to it. I was inspired by Elin chopping off her long hair of many years and thought I would do the same (in almost the same cut! haha Sorry if I am a copy cat) but I thought it was so adorable and I thought it would be a style that I would like. After changing my mind and researching photos I finally got up the guts to do it.
I went to this adorable little place in Burbank that I've been wanting to go to since Chad and I got married. Six months later, I went to Frenchy's this adorable little retro style salon that was totally fun and I ended up loving haircut! I put a before picture so you can all see how much I cut off (about 7 inches) and to show you what a little makeup and a great haircut can do!
A few weeks ago I had some of my first non-wedding related visitors! Caren and Annika came to visit. One of the best parts of the visit was it gave me an excuse to go to Disneyland around halloween! It was awesome!
Some of the highlights included not waiting in hardly ANY lines,we went on everything and on matterhorn and space mountain twice. This is me psyched that I got to go on the teacups (because Chad doesn't like them).
Caren had an eventful Disney trip and quit her job somewhere between the line for Peter Pan and wandering around Toon Town! She was so happy to have quit her job and at Disneyland none the less! She made a sign to email to her work via a Buzz Lightyear picture but Disney vetoed the picture so we took one ourselves!
Since I wanted to take advantage of my freedom to go on the Teacups, Caren and I went on the teacups 8, YES 8 times! Part of the reason for our multiple Teacups trip had to do with the fact that we had a fast pass for Space Mountain and couldn't cross the road due to a fanciful 'parade of dreams' or something. We just kept going back and back until the parade was over. In case you are worried about my equilibrium, we actually stopped spinning the cups after ride number 3. Either way, I got my fill of teacups for the next 7 trips to Disneyland!
Caren and I got cute matching minnie ear clips! Aren't we annoyingly adorable!
Here are some pictures from Halloween. We had a pretty un-eventful one. No trick or treaters, no parties. Pretty much just Chad and I. But I wanted to get dressed up because I got some cute purple and black striped tights that looked pretty witchy so I opted to be a Witch and Chad went as the Unabomber!
Notice he is even holding a package and looking extra creepy. We went out for dinner and visited some friends! It was a quiet but really fun Halloween.
These are some pics of Caren and Annika on our whirlwind trip of LA. Right after I picked them up from the airport I dropped them off at the Star Walk/Chinese Theater because I had to rush off to job interview. Then we met up and went shoe shopping. After that we headed to westwood village for some yummy greek food at this amazing little place Daymon and Pthyias After lunch we went the true LA style and got Pedi's (Pedicures to those who dont speak LA).
After getting beautiful soft feet we headed to Santa Monica and the pier where we rode on the ferris wheel, ate funnel cakes and made ourselve sick, watched the sunset, saw a japanase TV show being filmed and part of 'Without a Trace' TV show being filmed as well! It was radical!
After the fun at the peir we hit some shops on 3rd street. The next day we got lunch at this healthy corner shop and checked out the cute vintage and antique shops on Magnolia Avenue in Burbank. We DEFINATELY hit up Yummy Cupcakes for the best cupcakes in the world. Annika left us to visit some mission families and friends so Caren, Chad and I went to the LA Temple, The Griffith Observatory and of course Caren and I finished with Disneyland. If you want to see more pictures from our adventures check them out on facebook! A few hours after dropping Caren off at the airport I went to yet another job interview, stay tuned and I will let you all know where I end up working full time, in the meantime I am still working doing freelance photoshop from home.
I added this last photo to the blog to prove to Ellen (Chad's mom) and to anyone else who is interested, that Chad pulls his weight around the house. Cleaning the fridge out has to be one of my least favorite things in the world. For the record, I did a pre-purge of all the gross food and Chad, my amazing husband, really got in and cleaned the fridge with pure elbow grease and love! Thanks Chad!
