Share Your World Week 33
First off I have a question for my followers: Would you prefer I leave this site as strictly for Southern Vampire Mysteries and True Blood related stuff or would you be okay with me posting my other than story, reviews and recipe posts here. I have had a follower comment on my posting interests other than SVM and TB here and she suggested that I separate the two. I don’t have an issue separating them but I would like to know how my other readers feel about it before I make a final decision.
So, here’s my Share Your World for this week:
Do you believe in ghosts?
I do
Irregardless of your physical fitness, coordination or agility: If you could play any sport professionally what would it be? Or if you can’t picture yourself playing sports, what is your favorite sport?
I haven’t watched or participated in sports in a very long time but I used to love baseball/softball and I do enjoy the feeling of being at a sporting event as opposed to watching it on the television.
Do you prefer long hair or short hair for yourself?
I love the way my hair curls and waves when it’s longer but for ease of maintenance I prefer short hair.
If you were on an small island, who would you want to be with? And where is it? How big is it?
This one’s a bit more difficult than usual for me. I love my alone time so it would have to be someone who respects the fact that the older I get the more I’m prone to being a loner.
My current favorite is Alexander Skarsgard (sorry for the lack of punctuation on the last name…foreign languages aren’t really that friendly with English keyboards).
My all time favorites are Sean Connery for his accent, Johnny Depp because he’s Johnny Depp and I’ve crushed on him for forever and Peter De Luise because I love his work.
The island would be moderately sized so we could each have some place to go and be alone when we needed it but it would be tropical so we could enjoy the sight of each others naked bodies 😀 without having to deal with all that clothing business. There wouldn’t have to be any sex involved but I DO enjoy looking at a handsome man :),
Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
Believe it or not I’m grateful that the company I’ve worked for for 25 years acknowledged me and my contributions to the company. It’s nice to be recognized once in a while.
Next week I’m on vacation! WOOT! I have no plans other than to spend a good deal of it in a vegetative state, help my brother with his business and more vegetating!
Ohhhhhhhh, next Saturday is August 30! FanExpo here I come!

I must not have explained things clearly or the post is way down in the line.
I realize the last six weeks of posts haven’t really had a lot of Southern Vampire Mysteries or True Blood content but that’s because those of you who are die hards already follow ESL and other news and information feeds so I don’t repost them here since it just makes my weeding through the other interesting posts take a lot longer when everyone reposts the same thing.
There’s also the fact I haven’t written much worth reading, story wise, since I finished The Other Road Home. I have written it just hasn’t been worthy of publishing.
I am one of those authors who doesn’t publish anything on a story until it is completed on my computer. I learned that lesson with my second story, Life and Death, nearly 2 1/2 years ago although I should have learned it earlier considering I can’t stand it when a good story gets left by the wayside, never to be completed.
Any way, there will be a lot more alternate interest posts in the future because I do have other interests than just Sookie Stackhouse and Eric Northman as some of you may have figured out in the last little while.
I am also hoping to do more challenges of both the story variety and blog challenges so I can try to keep my brain sharp and maybe come up with an idea or two for a story which will actually get finished.
I am thankful for each one of my followers and do enjoy showing you other sides of me than just the SVM universe, I hop you all are enjoying it as well.
Oktoberfest – News
As strange as it may seem I’m actually excited about this. The glockenspiel was there when we moved here in 1975 and I always enjoyed listening to it when it played the full story out.

Her recipes look absolutely wonderful! The pictures are colourful and the recipes look really simple so she’s getting a shout out from me:).
Step by step print and photo instructions always make a recipe easier to follow, lol.

Today’s News
Today at work we had the second annual employee appreciation BBQ. The weather wasn’t the nicest since it was downright cold and very windy but still it was a fairly good time. The union president was even there.
The union has always supported the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada in the wonderful work they do but this year Kraus decided they were going to get in on the volunteer wagon as well.
They chose to partner with Habitat for Humanity and honestly I don’t think I could think of a better fit for a flooring company than a volunteer organization that helps those who are down on their luck with their housing situations.
For the first time in a very long time I’m proud to say I work for Kraus Carpets.
They are finally pulling themselves up by their boot straps and getting out in the community, recognizing all the hard work their employees have put into their products and I, at least, am a lot happier with my job now than I can ever remember being.
The proverbial icing on the cake today was that I got a 25 year service award which includes a day off with pay. The day off has to be used by December 31 and they have to make sure they will have enough workers to get the product out by the end of the day but I don’t see an issue with that at all :).
Kudos to Kraus Carpets and UFCW 175 and 633.

Do you prefer ketchup or mustard?
No brainer for me…Mustard! I can’t stand ketchup! I’m allergic to tomatoes which totally sucks since I love them so much and sugar is the second or third ingredient. Coca-Cola is about the only place I like the extra sugar. Even my coffee barely has any sugar in it.
If someone made a movie of your life would it be a drama, a comedy, a romantic-comedy, action film, or science fiction?
Boring? Really, there is not much that happens in my life.
If you could be given any gift what would it be?
I would love to be able to write a book and have it on the best sellers list. This isn’t about the money since I couldn’t care less about it, it’s about being able to accomplish the feat.
For potlucks or parties do you cook it yourself, buy from a grocery store, or pay for catering?
If I’m going I make it myself and If I’m having it here I cook and have others brings things as well. Of course those others generally buy it on the way to my place, lol.

BLUESFEST! Unfortunately it was a bust for me:(. I ended up at my favorite vegetarian coffee shop/cafe. Unfortunately it was too crowded for me because I happened to pick the night they were having poetry readings sigh. It wasn’t the crowd that did me in though, it was the heat from so many people because they didn’t have the air conditioning turned up high enough to compensate :(, otherwise I would have stayed. My son did give me a ride to and from though AND refused when I offered him gas money, lmao.

Pillow talk
Carly Knobloch wrote a wonderful post about how much time is too much phone time in the bedroom and I thought I would give my response here.
I vote that any time is too much time. My phone only makes it into the bedroom if it’s during the day and I’m barricading myself in because I’m a grouchy bear or I’m expecting an emergency phone call from family.
My phone stays in the living room on my table/file cabinet right along with my laptop, tablet and iPod. None of that makes it to the bedroom since I much prefer to fall asleep to absolute quiet with no distractions in the form of things that can light up my dark room, ding or otherwise do things to disturb me during my downtime.
I do not use it as an alarm clock. It’s way too tantalizing to check email or reply to texts when I pick it up in order to check the time. I have one of those old fashioned gadgets called an alarm clock. You know, that thing that makes an extremely annoying buzzing sound at the proscribed time each morning. It is even newfangled enough to have a second alarm so I don’t have to fuss around with it in the dark to set it so my boyfriend will get up at the correct time several hours after I get up.
I may be the black sheep here but some days I regret ever getting a cell phone and internet.
Yes, a cell phone has allowed my family to reach me no matter what but that is a good thing AND a bad thing. There are times when I just want to escape without leaving home, which I do manage but I shouldn’t have to hide from everyone after I hide my phone and other electronic gadgets in order to do so. Gone are the days where if I wasn’t near my landline they would have to call back or hope I checked the call display to find out that they called and call them back. Gone are the days where I could enjoy a less stressful day with a good book at the beach because they always manage to find me even if they don’t know me personally or whether they are there physically or not.
What say my readers? How much time is too much phone time in the bedroom?

HBO execs so I could ask them WHY they kept Bill Compton around! They had a chance to improve on the books and they flubbed it!
My boyfriend so he could wow everyone with his stand up comedy routine.
What can you always be found with?
My cigs and lighter, eReader, cell phone and my glasses.
What is the most fun thing you did in school?
Seriously? School wasn’t so much fun for me as a chore even though I did enjoy my school years. If I have to pick something I would say spending most of my final year playing hooky, while still on the property, and playing cards with my best friend.
What’s something you know you do differently than most people?
Hmmm…I plan my weekends weeks in advance? I don’t like not knowing what’s going to happen although I am not a micromanager.

It was a long weekend so I had a three day weekend to rest and relax with some writing thrown into the mix.
