Draw again #1

I’ve got in to the challenge ”draw again” so I’ve decided to start to draw from a sketchbook of mine from the year 2008, a seven years differs could be visible. 😉

The year 2008 was most Winx fanart for me 😉 so it will be a lot of Winx Club Fanart re-make now and forward!!

ß This is the painting from the year 2008, I’ve made a fanart of Bloom in some sort of weird ninja suit x)

ß So here is the ”draw again” painting I made today, it was more of a quick sketch lite the first one.

ß Here is the same re-make as before just that I thought It leaked details so I added some to make the picture complete

My experience with Oil and Acrylic paintin

My experience with Oil and Acrylic paintin

When it comes to the difference and the lines of acrylic and oil paint there is much to say.

I get a lot of questions as;

  • Witch one is the best to paint with?
  • Witch one is the easiest to paint with?
  • What are the cons and pros of the different paints?

I’m going to try answer these questions as best as I can from my own experience (While trying to avoid being eaten alive by mosquitoes here in Sweden, god, gotta hate Swedish summers, the rain and the bugs are literately killing me.)

1. Witch one is the best to paint with?

Even tho this has to do with the experience of the painter (how good you are at painting in general) but i find that you get the best colors and the most natural colors by painting with oil paint. Of course – Acrylic paint, if you are good enough, you can get amazing colors and the drying time is like 1000% faster, but still, there are Technics and colors you only can do with oil paint.

2.Witch one is the easiest to paint with?

The Technics when it comes to the oil paint comes from the most easy Technics to the most advanced – the oil paint is for the more experienced one and I would say that  acrylic is good for beginners (but it can be beautiful art if you know how to use it)

3. What are the cons and pros of the different paints?

Oil pros;

  • you can do a lot more with it
  • it look more natural to paint with, the color are so much more preferred
  • you can blend colors much better and easy-er
  • It’s covering perfect, it’s thick and covers when to cover.

Oil cons;

  • it takes forever to dry
  • the smell can (if you are sensitive) make you faint if you are in a closed room with no ventilation

Acrylic pros;

  • it take 3 min to dry completely – make is easy to paint multiply layers
  • its easy to paint with

Acrylic cons;

  • its transparent paint, it take multiply layers to cover.
  • you can’t to as much as with oil paint
  • the colors – when they dry – look a little bit plastic in my opinion

Winx Club Design

Here is one of my older designs that I re-made for… I donno…

I first made the design when I was young – about 12 or 13 years old. I found if when I got home yesterday and looked threw old sketchbooks. I decided to remake it and hear your thought about it. The back-story I think was something about the main characters being bitten/poised by some fungus and the fungus change the appearance of one of them, the rest of them got sick and got in a coma (Yes I was murderous as a child). So it was up to the leader, the one that got change, to save the others by killing the mother fungus…

Black vs Color – Tutorial

Black vs Color – Tutorial

IMG_0008<– start with the sketch, make shore that the lines aren’t to thick so they won’t see threw.

IMG_0009<– Then paint the face with basic shadows by using the color black. observe that I put spots of withe on the black lips to make them pop.

IMG_0010<– Then add the color to the image, don’t put the most vibrent colors there first but rather add when needed.

IMG_0011<– Then add the rest of the colors and the ”splash” effect to make the painting perfect 😉

Blue Face – Tutorial

Blue Face – Tutorial

Here is a picture-to-picture tutorial for ”Blue Face”

ß Start off with the A5 blank canvas and draw a face, I also like to draw draw helplines on the nose because I find it easier to draw the shadows on the nose.

ß Paint a light background and let the paint dry.

ß Paint the basic shadowing and make a drop at the end at the mouth

ß Stronger shadowing and start to make details

ßFinish the details and make the eye popp with the with glow, don’t forget to sign.

CSI:NY Netflix = Background sounds

CSI:NY Netflix = Background sounds

NETFLIX in my mind. The thing most people do when they start the website ”Netflix” they want to see a movie or a episode from a weird season. But I… I’m the weird girl just wanting some backgrounds sounds when I’m painting. For some, that’s distracting but training is the motto for me ;)— na, I’m just really happy to find it easy to do two things at the same time or even block one thing out completely. But why the sound then? Easy.

  1. When I paint a surten mood, I want to have the sound of that mood in the background, I find that it helps setting the mood to get the painting just perfect.
  2. I don’t like to be alone xD – I’m paranoid. ^_^
  3. When I listen to music I get so cut up in the music I stop paint, for some reason, movies don’t make me do that…
