My first visit from baby Brianna today..!

Just a quick note to thank you all for your lovely messages about my beautiful new baby niece and my card. I've had a busy day, cleaning the house and doing a little DIY, I also had my first visit from baby Brianna today, I got plenty of wonderful cuddles from both my niece and my gorgeous little nephew. My sister really loved the card I made too. I am hoping for a quiet day tomorrow when I can do lots of blog hopping and cardmaking, looking forward to catching up on all your blogs. Here is a card I made on Friday for a lady who is having a knee operation. This cute image I have used is from the Pink Petticoat range. Hope it makes the lady in question feel so much better.

A new niece for me...Yipee....!

Hello there,
I have had a very busy week but the highlight was definately on Wednesday morning when my sister gave birth to her second child, a beautiful little girl who is absolutely adoreable, as all babies are. My little nephew, age 2, came to stay while she was in the hospital and he is such wonderful company. He seemed very excited about her arrival. When we took him to the hospital to see his new little sister he just kept saying "that baby was in mummy's tummy" I thought it was so cute. She weighed 7lb 11oz and has been given a beautiful name, Brianna. I set too and made this card.

Here is a photo of her taken when she was just 7 hours old, as you can see she is totally scrummy.

I'm back...!!!!

Hello,

Yes, I am still alive, I'm sure you were all wondering there for a bit. I just haven't felt up to posting anything on my blog for quite a while, kinda lost it there for a few months. Last weekend I went down to visit Debs she and her friend Sarah were having a very belated 40th birthday bash. Debs kindly invited me so I thought I'd bite the bullet and go. Not so easy to go about on my own now, but I have to get used to it. 25 years of being joined at the hip to a certain special someone is kinda hard to be without. Anyway I took her some choccies which I think by the massive smile on her face were very much appreciated. (can't go far wrong with chocs now can we girls). I also made a couple of cards which she's posted on her blog, so I'll not bother posting them here. I'm please she likes them.

I went to the Hobbycrafts fair at the NEC last month with my friend Diane and my mum, we had a brilliant day out and I bought tons of goodies. I got my first Nestibilities, a fab Joanna Sheen Messy Bunny stamp (which I love), some Smirk stamps and matching papers (which I also love), a sizzix Easy Peasy font strip and tons of other great stuff. Spent a small fortune it has to be said. Here are a few cards I made with my goodies.

Here are the Smirk ones, I just love the pack of papers I bought in the same range. they are so sweet.

And how cute is this bunny? I just love him to bits. the font is the Easy Peasy decorative strip from Sizzix. Gorgeous isn't it? I put a little gem on his nose to make it stand out. I need to practise my painting skills on him though...!
Hope to be back soon with more creations.

Sad week, but with a good day out at the NEC

Hi everyone,

I haven't been around much this week, it hasn't been the best of weeks for me, Friday was the first anniversary of the day my husband died and it has been really hard to get my head around the fact he's been gone a whole year. I still miss him terribly and it feels like only a few months not twelve. I received lots of beautiful flowers from family and friends, a few cards, and a couple of lovely emails too, thanks for those you know who you are.

On a lighter note though, Diane, my mum and I had a day out on Thursday at the NEC. We had a really good day which was a great distraction for me. Diane hadn't been before and I think she really enjoyed the experience. We both came home wishing we'd bought more of course. I was going to buy some nestibilities and forgot to go back to the stall where they were the cheapest - 'Durhhh'. There was a few stamps I wanted but resisted - WHY..!!! Anyway I was happy with just a great day out with my bestest buddy and my lovely mum. Thanks to both of you for cheering me up. xx

Here is a photo of the goodies I did buy.

Never Again..!

A work colleague asked me to cover an album she had bought for her daughter's 18th, 'a doddle' I thought - ha ha, NEVER AGAIN..!!! (she says), what a fiddly awkward job, it was. It was covered in this vile gold padded shiney plastic cover, which made it all the more awkward to cover. Anyway this is the result. I do hope she likes it, trouble is I haven't a clue what to charge her, a lot less than it's worth if I know me..!

Well worth all the effort

I was up at 4.30am on Friday, to arrive at work for 5.45am in order to catch all those workers who start early, I was working on the 'get them while they were half asleep' approach, hoping they would just hand over money to get past me. It certainly worked Ailsa (on the right), my partner in crime, and I raised a total of £140 just from the buckets. I was really pleased with that and it was well worth the effort. In total, over the last 3 weeks, our site raised over £1600 to go to Breast Cancer Research, the company overall raised over £3600.

Breast cancer - Pink or Pumpkin Day at work

Goodness me, this has been a busy week, where does the time go? Sadly I haven't been able to find time to go blog hopping. This week we are having a big fundraising event for Breast Cancer Research at work, a wonderful charity I'm sure you will all agree. A very good friend of mine is at present recovering from a mastectomy due to this terrible illness and so I was really pleased to be asked to join the fundraising team at work. Tomorrow everyone has been asked to go dressed in Halloween fancy dress or somethink pink. I have chosen to wear a pink stetson, a pink feather boa and a tickled pink t-shirt, not very inventive I know. I agreed to design and make some collection buckets, so I roped my wonderful mum and daughter in to help and these two buckets were created. Everyone at work thought they were great, tomorrow I hope to fill them with lots of coins.
