Review: Brownsover Hall Hotel, Rugby

Brownsover Hall Hotel is a grade II listed Victorian Gothic mansion nestled in several acres of woodland and alongside a canal. A little gem just outside of Rugby and minutes from the M6.

After a long, traffic filled, drive from London the garden and towers of Brownsover Hall Hotel were extremely welcoming. On stepping inside the imposing interior design is in keeping with the architecture – dark wood, sweeping staircases and chandeliers a plenty.

It isn’t the start of a weekend away for the Mr and I if we don’t get afternoon tea so we were straight to the bar to sample the menu!

The afternoon tea did not disappoint. A row of sandwiches were brought out on slate; ham and mustard, salmon and tuna. Enjoyed alongside a pot of tea and a glass of pink prosecco. The cake stand was filled with delights including miniature bakewell tarts and chocolate éclairs as well as a generous slice of Victoria Sponge and a Scone with clotted cream and jam. It was delicious and enjoyed in the empty bar area.

We spent three nights in the Hotel and had a wonderful time. The staff were attentive and friendly. We only had breakfast in the restaurant one of the mornings (it wasn’t included) and if I am honest, for £12.95 each, it could have been better. We ate dinner in the Hotel on our final night and again it was very tasty, the staff were extremely attentive and the service was wonderful.

The grounds are beautiful and we were fortunate enough to have a sunny weekend to enjoy a weekend walk along the canal.

I would stay here again in a heart beat and would definitely go back for the afternoon tea!

Review: Brownsover Hall Hotel, Rugby

Hello… again!

Hello there friend… It has been awhile since I last blogged (over a year in fact) but the urge has struck again so here I am.

It seemed to make sense to me to start a new blog, same name different place, in the hope that a refreshed outlook would encourage me to keep it up again this time. If you want to see some of my older posts check out my old blog here: http://trainersteacups.blogspot.co.uk

So who am I and why this blog?

My name is Jasmine and I began running just over 2yrs ago… I haven’t looked back since. I have run several 10ks, half marathons and even a full marathon. It has become a large part of my life and I have found amazing people through running and a side of myself I never knew was there… I am sure there will be more on this later. So that covers the Trainers bit of the blog name!

As much as I love running and all things fitness related, I have a demon of a sweet tooth. There are few things I love more than a huge pot of tea and an even bigger slice of cake. I love coffee shops, bakeries and tea rooms.

So it seemed natural for me to start a blog which combines my love of both – that shows that you can be fit, you can run but you can also eat cake and be a normal person!

I hope you enjoy this blog and I look forward to (over)sharing aspects of my life with you all!

Hello… again!
