This spring has been sputtering to gain warmth, so here are some late springtime photos I took over the last few years to inspire us here in the midwestern United States that spring will really blossom again!

Rhubarb’s tang makes me feel like it is fully spring. I whipped up this pie last week and have been enjoying it ever since! I used strawberry jam in place of fresh strawberries, and that worked out just fine.

If you don’t get a chance to come to Chicago land and see Lilacia Park yourself, when my husband and I visited it last Sunday, I shot some photos to share with you:
This park, filled with dozens of different types of lilacs, shouts, “Spring is HERE!!” I loved stopping and smelling the flowers. This afternoon when I released the students to head home, my spring break began. I still have a meeting tomorrow, but it doesn’t feel like work because I do not have to manage students for a whole week and a half!

I love a new hope spring blossoms bring when you see them unfurling after a long winter snow. Living in a climate with four seasons is enjoyable because I love the variety and the change that happens in the weather and in nature. Sometimes winter grays and browns is depressing, but springs whites and pinks renews hope.
