Van Halen “Fair Warning” review from Helsingborgs Dagblad (June 26 1981). I loved Van Halen back in the day, they were like the bastard sons of Deep Purple. Warner lost Purple Stateside when they broke up in 1976, but they did get Van Halen not that long after. Big time rock, larger than life, guitar heroics. Great band. Of course, the CDs came later.

High And Mighty

There is a four CD box set coming up in late April with Uriah Heep titled “Beautiful Dream 1975-1977”. It will feature four studio albums, “Return To Fantasy” (1975), “High And Mighty” (1976), “Firefly” (1977) and “Innocent Victim”, plus loads of rare stuff and live recordings from said period. Looks good to me.

Managed to squeeze in a DVD and a small computer screen in a corner in the bedroom so now I can enjoy watching stuff from the bed. I can imagine that this will be extra good if one has a cold, or just want to have some music on etc. For actual movies, I will probably stick to the tv room. Still, I have seen that this is quite common out there, so as a project it has been on my mind for a while. First DVD to go in yesterday was Rainbow “Live In Munich”.

(My shot of said setup, seen on the screen here is a bit of Deep Purple from the DVD “Phoenix Rising”)

It has been an interesting experience to be an active blogger, and I think I have slowly over time managed to create a fairly personal look. Take all these background shots that I tend to use, I think that idea has been quite successful. I am sure that you can recognize some of these within this top image, all taken from the house (or in a couple of cases indoors and at a Babymetal concert). Add some images or whatever on top and a Trinkelbonker logo and it might look pretty cool.

ABBA

Fast read on the 1975 self titled “ABBA” album, “The Making Of ABBA” (Sonicbond, 2025) by author Joe Matera. I always liked that album cover and of course it was a brilliant band. Some nice shots inside.

Located this fairly recent half page ad from a local newspaper in Jämtland County for an opening of a new McDonald´s in Östersund. Storsie (The Great Lake Monster) is used to pull people in.

Swedish crosswords magazine Nostalgi-kryss, issue 2 2026 (1950s issue). I like the retro specials.

(My shot of said magazine, cover shots are not credited)

There will be a 70 page feature on Lovebites in the March issue of Japanese publication Young Guitar. Well deserved. Their time is now.

I like magazines and French L´Officiel is quite something. Seen here is issue 1018 from October 2017. Very cheap price tag for its 300+ page contents (I guess it is taken care of by the ads). Looks like an industry fashion kind of title. Nice shot of American model Grace Hartzel on the cover. Not really my culture but still pretty fascinating. Spotted Audrey Hepburn in it, so that is cool as well. Imagine the space it would require if one collected these issues (pretty thick pages as well). I will be holding on to this one.

..

We have what looks like a cash grab nine-CD Rainbow collection that spans the 1975-1976 period titled “The Temple Of The King” coming up in March. You get the first two studio albums and a bunch of concerts from the “Rising” tour. Nothing too exciting for long time collectors but I guess it serves a purpose at some level. The same label is also the one that is putting out the eight CD box with the Ian Gillan Band in late February.
