Normal service to resume…

Good morning guys, hope you’re well.

I know I’ve been quiet the last couple of days but I’m just dealing with a couple of personal issues which warrants my undivided attention.

I promise normal service will resume once everything has been dealt with.

Have an awesome day.

Will the dollar fall?

Seeing as the whole world is in a frenzy regarding the recurrence of the rescession I thought I should put all my financial advisory skills to use and do a post about it.

We all know that our currency, the Rand, closely follows the other major currencies in the world…more particularly the US Dollar. This means that whatever happens with the Dollar will have an impact on the value of the Rand.

Its therefore with interest that we should have a look at the following graph… and I ask the following. Do you think the Dollar will fall or not?

Gives new meaning to being tight arsed lol

Hope you all have a great week!

Pont Neuf Bridge

Just in case some of you regard me as being sexist by the pictures I’ve blogged recently I’ve decided that I will just post pictures of old monuments and other cultural sights which are educational for your mind.

This is the Pont Neuf Bridge in Paris. It’s the oldest standing bridge across the river Seine, completed in 1604.

Here’s a cut and paste from Wikipedia just to show you how serious I am about this new approach I’m adopting:

The bridge is composed of two separate spans, one of five arches joining the left bank to the Île de la Cité, another of seven joining the island to the right bank. Old engraved maps of Paris show how, when the bridge was built, it just grazed the downstream tip of the Île de la Cité; since then, the natural sandbar building of a mid-river island, aided by stone-faced embankments called quais, has extended the island. Today the island is the Square du Vert-Galant, a park named in honour of Henry IV, nicknamed the “Green Gallant.”

Now the bridge…

Don’t you think thats a stunning view?

Striking and nuns

So I’m driving into town (for the non-Capies Town is what the CBD is called) this morning to go sort out a couple of things and to see a client I’ve been trying to get hold of for the a while now and imagine my surprise when I drove right into the municipal workers’ strike!

My immediate reaction was – GO FOR IT, YOU’VE BEEN WANTING TO JOIN A PROPER STRIKE FOR A WHILE NOW! Alas I was late for my appointment so I thought I’d skip this one and maybe join the next one…we all know there’ll be another one soon.

As I’m driving down Adderley street all hell breaks loose!! These idiots start throwing over rubbish bins and fires were started all over! It was almost like a scene from some movie being shot…I even had a look around to see if there were any cameras but unfortunately my shot at stardom will have to wait L

I’m planning to make an appearance at Dewani hearing though…will plan my walk to fame so you can see me as Mr Dewani is being led away to become Pappa’s new roommate. Watch this space…

But until such time as I become famous I will continue to provide you with some entertainment to help pass the time whilst doing that thing some people call work.

Cheers for now

Here’s a afternoon funny…

A nun walks into Mother Superior’s office and plunks down into a chair. She

lets out a sigh heavy with frustration.

“What troubles you, Sister?” asked the Mother Superior.. “I thought this

was the day you spent with your family.”

“It was,” sighed the Sister. “And I went to play golf with my brother. We

try to play golf as often as we can. You know I was quite a talented golfer

before I devoted my life to Christ.”

“I seem to recall that,” the Mother Superior agreed. “So I take it your day

of recreation was not relaxing?”

“Far from it,” snorted the Sister. “In fact, I even took the Lord’s name in

vain today!”

“Goodness, Sister!” gasped the Mother Superior, astonished. “You must tell

me all about it!”

“Well, we were on the fifth tee…and this hole is a monster, Mother – 540

yard Par 5, with a nasty dogleg left and a hidden green…and I hit the

drive of my life. I creamed it. The sweetest swing I ever made.

And it’s flying straight and true, right along the line I wanted…and it

hits a bird in mid-flight !”

“Oh my!” commiserated the Mother. “How unfortunate! But surely that didn’t

make you blaspheme, Sister!”

“No, that wasn’t it,” admitted Sister. “While I was still trying to fathom

what had happened, this squirrel runs out of the woods, grabs my ball and

runs off down the fairway!”

“Oh, that would have made me blaspheme!” sympathized the Mother..

“But I didn’t, Mother!” sobbed the Sister. “And I was so proud of myself!

And while I was pondering whether this was a sign from God, this hawk

swoops out of the sky and grabs the squirrel and flies off, with my ball

still clutched in his paws!”

“So that’s when you cursed,” said the Mother with a knowing smile.

“Nope, that wasn’t it either,” cried the Sister, anguished, “because as the

hawk started to fly out of sight, the squirrel started struggling, and the

hawk dropped him right there on the green, and the ball popped out of his

paws and rolled to about 18 inches from the cup!”

Mother Superior sat back in her chair, folded her arms across her chest,

fixed the Sister with a baleful stare and said…

“You missed the fucking putt, didn’t you?”

Tech help needed!!

My neighbour keeps asking me to help set up her VCR, but I don’t know how.
If any of you electronic boffins can follow this diagram, could you please advice me?

My neighbour’s VCR is quite unusual, so I took a photo of it:-

The celebrations…

Good morning guys, hope you’re all doing well.

I’ve had a hectic couple of days…lets call it a long weekend seeing as I was just going through the motions at work on Monday lol.

Ok where to begin…

Thursday evening my parents arrived at about 16:30 and finished my meeting around the same time. Luckily I was able to meet them otherwise they would’ve ended up in Malmesbury the way my Dad drives.

We got home and unpacked the car…ooo they brought some proper Eastern Cape biltong and lekker lamb chops. My fridge has never been so full! Just gotta love it when the folks visit J

We ended up chatting till late and finally got to bed at around 1am. The next morning we had to get ready early as I had to meet the advocate who would be doing my application at court early so we could go over the papers together so the morning was just one big rush! Eventually everything settled down and court started at 10am. I couldn’t believe how many admission there were…I think it was close to 80 in total, advocates and attorneys.

Like I said before it was all over in about two minutes…thats the actual admission but enough about that. Lets get to the partying!!

Friday evening all my friends arranged a small get together before the actual party next day. I took Lil Sis along just to meet them but we ended up staying the night. Everyone had a little speech and we enjoyed copious amounts of Jaggermeister and whiskey. We all headed home the next day and spent most of it with my folks.

Saturday was the day of the toga party so I got to the venue and it was just chaos from there. Drinks were all over the place and the party turned into an all-nighter and the all-nighter just continued the Sunday with a braai and I was absolutely tired when I eventually got home. The folks left Monday morning so I couldn’t get much sleep seeing as I had to see them off. Oh just BTW, the folks met the lady as well and it seems as if I have Mom’s approval…good news seeing as that one can be really picky!

Monday at work was a nightmare…I had so much work to do and I was struggling to stay awake. I probably drank all the coffee in the office just to make it through the day!

Yesterday was a rather chilled day…spent with the lady. We drove to Stellenbosch and decided to go wine tasting. Had a great time and seeing as we both studied in Stellenbosch we just had to make a pitstop at the Neelsie to get something to eat. I think that was the perfect end to a great weekend.

Before I go I just have to tell you about the present my friends gave me. Lol it’s actually funny! They took a R100 note and the girls got this glittery pen so everyone could sign it. It’s suppose to be the first R100 towards my savings so I can one day open up my own practice. I think it’s a great gesture and I am truly blessed with the best friends! I’m planning to have it framed and hopefully one day put it up in my office.

So that was my loooooooong weekend.

Hope you all have an awesome day

Cheers
