  • 📦 Supply chains are unpredictable. Your development schedule is not. Right now, one of the most underrated decisions a programme team can make is choosing hardware that is already on the shelf. No minimum order delays. No six-month lead time eating into your development window. No procurement risk sitting between you and your first bring-up. The ADM-PA120, featuring the AMD Versal VP1502 Adaptive SoC, is available from stock today. Order it, have it in hand, and start development this week. ⚡ Find out more. 👇 https://lnkd.in/dTCqrtvH

  • 📍 Alpha Data will be in Helsinki for Association of Old Crows Europe 2026, 19 to 21 May. This year’s theme is electromagnetic spectrum superiority, and the conversation could not be more urgent. The expanding battlefield role of unmanned platforms, and the growing challenge of PNT/GNSS denial are reshaping what EW hardware actually needs to do. Alpha Data’s ruggedised Adaptive SoC platforms are built for exactly this environment: wideband signal processing performance, long lifecycle support, conduction-cooled VPX form factors, qualified for operational EW and EMSO deployment. ⚡ Come and find Andrew McCormick, Chief Technology Officer, and Kevin Roth, Product Director, at the Alpha Data booth 5p1, or get in touch in advance to arrange a meeting. 👇 https://lnkd.in/dHeRX6hZ

  • 🛰 From 4KB on the Space Shuttle to real-time intelligence on orbit. That shift puts into perspective how far space computing has come. 🌍 The constraints of space are unforgiving. The same approach that is pushing compute forward on earth has to be reimagined entirely for the space environment. Adaptive SoC platforms are increasingly central to that conversation, and it is an area Alpha Data has been building towards for some time. Thank you to Mark Papermaster and AMD for bringing this conversation forward! https://lnkd.in/eY5Ym6Bd

AI is heading to the most demanding edge environment of all: space.   When I started my career, I worked on the Space Shuttle program and the total amount of memory for the general-purpose computers was 4KB. Now technology in space is bringing real-time intelligence on-board satellites and spacecraft.  The same holistic design across hardware, software, and application stack that is driving AI computation forward on earth is needed in space and must also take on further power constraints, connectivity that isn’t guaranteed, cooling challenges of a vacuum environment, and reliability which is mission critical. Orbital data center concepts are being developed that will also address these constraints.    For more, check out my blog post: https://lnkd.in/dq-KcWrn   #AI #EdgeComputing #SpaceTech #DataCentersinSpace #OpenEcosystem #ComputeEfficiency

  • 📅 Alpha Data is at the AMD Embedded Computing (ECS) Summit on 12 May. Our CEO, Adam Smith will be on-site and ready to meet. ECS brings together the engineers designing next-generation embedded systems, with a programme centred on signal processing, AI and system architecture. All three sit at the core of what Alpha Data delivers: ruggedised Adaptive SoC platforms that take AMD technology from development into deployment in the most demanding environments. Reach out to Adam directly or get in touch now to arrange a meeting. 👇 https://lnkd.in/dHeRX6hZ

  • 📈🛰 Alpha Data has completed validation of the ADM-VA600-FL4, a plug-in Rad-Hard NOR Flash configuration module for the ADM-VA601 and ADM-VB630 space platforms. Using the radiation-hardened QSPI NOR Flash from Infineon Technologies, the ADM-VA600-FL4 gives development teams a verified, off-the-shelf configuration path for AMD Versal in the harshest environments. • 🔧 Choosing the right hardware is only part of the equation. What happens after deployment matters just as much. In defence, aerospace, and space, programmes run for years, sometimes decades. The technology underpinning them needs to be supported for every step of that journey, not just at the point of sale. 💡 With over 30 years of experience in high-performance embedded computing, Alpha Data understands that customers need more than a product. They need a partner who stays in the room. Find out more: https://lnkd.in/dHeRX6hZ

  • 📡 Modern defence systems operate in environments that are more complex, more contested, and more demanding than ever before. The platforms powering them need to match that reality. Able to perform across a wide range of mission-critical applications ranging from radar signal processing and electromagnetic spectrum operations to military communications and beamforming, the ADA-VA330 is built for scenarios where RF performance is non-negotiable. Its rugged RF processing platform, built for defence-grade deployment in the field gives operators the speed and flexibility to respond to a rapidly evolving electromagnetic environment. 🌍 Built to SOSA open standards and available in multiple form factors, it supports programmes from early development all the way through to mission-ready deployment, reducing risk and keeping timelines on track. Whether at sea, on land, or airborne, the ADA-VA330 is ready. Find out more: https://lnkd.in/e45Hcz33

  • 🌍 Happy Earth Day! Last week we asked which design approach has the greatest impact on reducing energy consumption. The answer was B, and here's the short version of why. ♻️General-purpose processors are built for flexibility, and that comes with a power cost. When you offload targeted workloads to Adaptive SoC programmable logic instead, those tasks run in dedicated hardware doing exactly one job. Less energy, less heat, less overhead. 💡 In aerospace, defence, and space, power budgets aren't optional. But the principle applies everywhere - using only what you need, nothing more, is good engineering and good practice for the planet. Thanks to everyone who voted and joined the discussion this week!

  • ⚡Every watt matters, and so does how you design for it. The systems powering aerospace, defence, and space applications run continuously, often in environments where cooling is limited and power budgets are tight. The decisions engineers make at the design stage have a direct impact on energy consumption for the lifetime of that system. So here's the question 👇 We'll share the answer and the reasoning on Earth Day. 🌍
