Have you heard about our latest study? It's revealed that ultra-processed, shelf-stable dog foods can contain high levels of a chemical compound called AGEs - and that gently cooking our fresh food at the sweet spot of 90°C keeps those levels low. Here's our co-founder Dave to tell you more. Take it away, Dave.

We are incredibly proud to announce the publication of our latest research in the Journal of Animal Physiology and Animal Nutrition. After testing our fresh meals against 15 other brands, the results are clear: less heat = less harm. Our peer-reviewed study, validated by independent experts, found that high-heat cooking creates harmful chemical byproducts called AGEs (Advanced Glycation End-products).  While small amounts are fine, the chronic exposure dogs face by eating ultra-processed meals every day leads to a buildup of these toxins over time, which can be linked to age-related diseases like arthritis and cancer. By gently cooking our meals at 90°C, we keep AGE levels significantly lower and protect vital nutrients, so dogs get more of the good stuff they need to thrive. The Rudie’s & Ace’s squad just wrapped up a fundraiser for Support Dogs, a Sheffield based charity that does incredible work training assistance dogs for people with autism, epilepsy and disabilities. Through a mix of raffles, charity calendars and a £500 match from the business, the team raised a total of £1,809.36. A big thanks to the Support Dogs team for bringing Walker, Dusty, Maya and Lizzie by the office to meet us - seeing the impact these dogs have firsthand was really special.
