Henry Moore’s sculpture was shaped by a close study of nature, so Kew Gardens feels like an unusually fitting setting for this major exhibition. Henry Moore: Monumental Nature places thirty large-scale works across the gardens, with additional drawings and carvings in the Shirley Sherwood Gallery. Our latest EyeOnLondon review looks at how the exhibition brings together art, landscape and one of Britain’s most influential sculptors. There is something rather appropriate about finding a restaurant linked to Le Cordon Bleu in the former Reuters building on Fleet Street. CORD delivers a lunch tasting menu that is thoughtful, technically accomplished and never overcomplicated. Highlights included an excellent scallop tartare, beautifully cooked salt marsh lamb and a refined Black Forest dessert, all supported by imaginative wine pairings. In a part of London long associated with journalism and the professions, it felt like exactly the sort of place where a proper lunch still matters.
