This week, we sponsored the Women of the Year Lunch & Awards, a star-studded event bringing together 400 women who have made a meaningful difference in industries and communities around the world.   We also gave out the Linklaters AI Impact Award, which recognises women harnessing AI-led innovation to deliver solutions to real-world issues.   It was won by Binhui Shao, founder of Easy Digital Ltd, who our senior partner Aedamar Comiskey described as “a standout winner whose innovative use of AI is helping people with visual impairments overcome everyday barriers”.   Inspired, we decided to run our own internal Woman of the Year award voted on by colleagues across the firm.   Our winner was Frankie Dadzie for her role in transforming the firm's graduate recruitment brand. As part of her prize, she was invited to attend the awards as one of the celebrated guests. A huge thank you to England cricketer Jofra Archer, Ben Carroll and Niara Lee for helping us celebrate UK Black History Month with clients and colleagues at our London headquarters this week. Reflecting this year's theme, ‘Honouring Our Communities’, the 31-year-old fast bowler shared how his Caribbean upbringing helped shape the values, perspective and grounded approach that have supported him throughout his career, from spending hours playing outdoors to the simple discipline of making his bed every day. On managing nerves and maintaining his trademark cool on the pitch, he said: “On the day, I feel it for the first two or three balls, and then I’m good for the rest of the game. “The important thing is that you don’t run away from that feeling. Sometimes you need it.” He also spoke about the role great captains and coaches have played throughout his career, sharing what they've done to make him feel understood, supported, and able to perform at his best.
