We’re seeing architecture talent judged less on creativity and more on software. Autodesk Revit has become a baseline, often ahead of design thinking and experience. And honestly, as a recruiter, it’s frustrating. Looking at a beautiful portfolio or speaking with a highly technical architect, knowing they could add real value, but having to rule them out because they can’t use the required software from day one. Machines don’t replace architects, they replace architects who don’t evolve. So what can be done? For employers, how can you train candidates quickly in Revit to expand your candidate pool and retain great staff? For candidates, don’t get left behind. Courses alone aren’t enough. ▪️ Do you have your own projects where you can learn and apply it, then include it in your portfolio? ▪️ Who is your next employer, and what can they offer you in terms of live training and real project exposure?
