New fund structures (evergreen, semi-liquid vehicles) are opening the door to wealth channels and retail capital at scale. 🔹 Asset managers are leaning in, hard! The biggest firms are actively building out private credit, private equity, and infrastructure platforms. Retail capital alone is now becoming a meaningful share of AUM for some managers, fundamentally reshaping distribution models. 🔹 Demand is structurally increasing Advisors and investors are reallocating portfolios toward privates in search of yield, diversification, and long-term return potential - with the majority planning to increase exposure further. 🔹 This isn’t cyclical - it’s structural Private markets AUM has surged over the last decade, driven by fewer public companies, more capital staying private, and the need for differentiated returns. The takeaway... We’re moving from “private markets as an alternative” → to “private markets as a core allocation.” And when the largest asset managers start scaling distribution, product innovation, and capital raising simultaneously… it’s usually a sign the trend is entering its next phase.

This mirrors the requests Finatal's Capital Formation & Investor Solutions team has received from clients and the conversations we're having with leaders of wealth private market businesses worldwide. As private markets continue to expand into wealth channels, the traditional sales model is being stretched. Advisors and end clients are asking more sophisticated questions - on liquidity structures, portfolio construction, risk, fees, and performance attribution. A generalist approach is no longer enough. That’s where Product Specialists come in. They sit at the intersection of investment expertise and client engagement - translating complex strategies into clear, credible narratives. Over the past two years, I’ve gained a deeper understanding of the impact thoughtful leadership, organizational culture, and people strategy can have on both employees and organizations. I’m incredibly grateful to the professors, colleagues, classmates, friends, and family who supported me along the way. A very special thank you to my managers and team at the Federal Reserve Board for their guidance and support throughout graduate school. Balancing a demanding role alongside playing football has not always been easy, and there were definitely moments where it felt difficult to give both the level of commitment they deserved. Four sessions covering employment contracts, disciplinary and grievance processes, and HR compliance - complex legal topics made practical, relevant and current. The networking was a highlight too, I loved connecting with other people professionals and sharing experiences. Such a great group. Exciting times ahead for UK tech 💪 In 2025, the UK tech sector continues to attract significant investment, with London startups alone securing £2.69bn in VC funding in the first quarter-despite a slight dip in deal volumes, investor confidence remains high, especially in emerging technologies. The standout sectors are: ⭐ Artificial Intelligence (AI): Leading the charge, AI startups raised $1.03bn in Q1—the biggest first quarter in three years. Notable raises include Isomorphic Labs (£450m) and Synthesia (£138m) ⭐ Health and Life Sciences: Almost half of the UK’s major funding rounds went to health tech, with innovations in AI-driven diagnostics and digital health platforms ⭐ Green Tech: Cleantech is growing fast, with the government’s Green Innovation Fund allocating £2.5bn to support battery recycling, biofuels, and carbon offset solutions ⭐ Fintech: London remains a global fintech hub, with leading firms and new entrants securing substantial funding With a transformative £86bn government boost to science and tech, and growing private sector investment, the UK is set to remain at the forefront of innovation and economic growth. In a market where many hiring plans have been cautious, the steady rise in job flow across both contract and permanent is a strong signal.
