A recent General Accountability Office report examined seven years’ worth of data from U.S. Border Patrol’s northern border sectors – Spokane, Blaine, Havre, Grand Forks, Detroit, Buffalo, Houlton, and Swanton. These eight sectors protect a combined 4,000 miles of border with Canada across 13 states. #drugtrafficking

A joint investigation by the French and Dutch authorities, supported by Eurojust and Europol, has shut down a large-scale criminal virtual private network (VPN) service. The criminal service, known as First VPN, targeted cybercriminals by offering their services and promising a secure environment to carry out illegal activities such as hacking and ransomware attacks.

The Spanish Civil Guard has arrested in Alicante one of the fugitives included in the international search campaign launched by the United Kingdom against criminals linked to organized crime, coinciding with the presentation of the international campaign “Most Wanted”. The French Navy intercepted a fishing vessel navigating without a flag in the Atlantic Ocean, resulting in the seizure of 3.366 kg of cocaine and the arrest of seven individuals on board. The vessel was sailing in the Atlantic Ocean when it was interdicted by the French authorities, who discovered 104 bales onboard, all of which tested positive for cocaine.

The number of irregular border crossings into the European Union continued to fall in the first four months of 2026, with detections down by 40% compared with the same period last year. Just over 28 500 crossings were recorded, according to preliminary data collected by Frontex. #migration
