In a complex NHS landscape, getting innovative treatments to patients requires more than clinical and cost-effectiveness. It takes patient pathway activation, understanding how care is really delivered, where bottlenecks sit, and what needs to change to make innovation work in practice. In this pharmaphorum article, Jim McArdle, Arlene Neville and Stephen Jowett explore why pathway readiness, system ownership and operational activation are now critical to successful launch and uptake in the NHS. This is a great example of how getting privacy and data use and compliance right can translate directly into better outcomes for patients and staff across the NHS. Congratulations to all involved!
We’re proud to share that NHS England and IQVIA were recognised with a MedTech Breakthrough Award for “Best Compliance Solution”. Within its NHS Federated Data Platform, NHS England operates the largest deployment of IQVIA’s Privacy Analytics Platform, enabling secure, safe use of digital health data for 55 million patients in England. The program is delivering measurable impact for patients and staff, including more than 110,000 additional patients undergoing procedures in theatres; a 14.9% decrease in discharge delays for long-stay patients, and 90,000 patients have been supported on their cancer journey.
