I had a very interesting conversation with a sim from Rio De Janerio. She spoke fluent Portuguese and a little English.  I had to use a translator for most of the conversation.

I learned that she is a 23-year woman and enjoys peaceful things. She does not like violent movies.

At first she was a little hesitant about speaking to me because she stated, “I’m paranoid”. In order to reassure her that I wasn’t a threat, I had to tell her a little about myself, just the basic stuff such as, I’m a 19 year old living in America.

She successfully avoided some of my questions because she was so cautious, however she eventually became comfortable enough to answer several questions.

She spoke a lot about the meteorite that hit Russia. She said she was very saddened by this incident, which showed me that the she cares about people she doesn’t even know.

I asked her about how women and men dress in Brazil, she responded “a women can wear a bikini to the beach, but if she wears a bikini to work, farewell haha. But men must wear a tie, even if it is hot.” I asked her about racial discrimination in Brasil. She said “discrimination is based off of money. If you are a rich black, you live white, but if you are a poor white, you live black. The color of people’s skin does not matter.

I also picked up on her lingo as well. “Voce” means “you”, but most Brazilians use the abbreviation “vc” during IM. Also she kept saying “kkk” this confused me for a while, I soon realized that “kkk” means “haha”.

Unfortunately my internet connection failed and our conversation ended. However, she is my mine friend in Second Life and we plan to continue our conversation later.
