Floods and Drones: Natural and Man-Made Disasters in Pakistan

Yesterday, a US drone strike in Pakistan destroyed a home of “suspected militants” killing 20 people among them at least four women and three children.

Instead of humanitarian aid, the US government is bombing the country. Why isn’t this on the mainstream media? Is Tiger Woods’ divorce is more important to Americans than the lives of millions of Pakistanis facing the worst natural disaster in recent history?

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said it is worse than anything he had ever seen:

“Thousands of towns and villages have simply been washed away. Roads, buildings, bridges, crops – millions of livelihoods have been lost. People are marooned on tiny islands with the floodwaters all around them (without food, sanitation, medical help, or shelter). They are drinking dirty water. They are living in the mud and ruins of their lives. Many have lost family and friends. Many more are afraid their children and loved ones will not survive in these condition.”

20 million Pakistanis are affected as one fifth of their nation is under water and spreading. This is the US equivalent of the entire states of Texas, California, New York, Illinois, Michigan, Florida, and Oregon combined. Americans cannot even imagine anything like ever that happening. Katrina was nothing compared to this tragedy.

But how sad and pathetic is it that our government is ordering bombing of Pakistan using drones while the country is drowning, homeless, starving and suffering? These are war crimes being committed.

There are people in America who still worship our Nobel “Peace” Prize winning leader and blindly support his policies of bombing innocent people in places most Americans cannot even point to on the map. War as it is does not bring peace, only misery and these wars against nations that pose no threat to us will only create more angry terrorists bent on killing us (for more on this read Robert Pape’s book “Dying to Win: The Strategic Logic of Suicide Terrorism”.

Obamanomics: Bailouts of America’s Most Inefficient Businesses

Obamanomics is all about bailing out those who made all the wrong decisions producing, managing and investing. Such as banks, automakers, insurance companies, inefficient government agencies, government mortgage companies, etc. All the enterprises that failed should get to join his wealth distribution plan which was to take money from efficiently run businesses and individual tax payers who were making money doing the right things such as saving money, not speculating, making wise investments and then use that money to bail out the failed and inefficient parts of our economy while making those who got him elected rich in the process.

Paul Craig Roberts: Who Rules America?

Paul Craig Roberts is an economist and journalist. He was Assistant Secretary of Treasury during the Reagan Administration. Forbes has ranked him as one of the top 7 journalists in the US.

He is one of the most outspoken people in America today and he has been a critic of both Republicans and Democrats for their abuse of power.

Here he writes about how the the Senate bill to allow homeowners to renegotiate mortgages with the banks was defeated by the banksters who pay the politicians millions and help them get elected. What a scam!

What a shame this is for our nation. Trillions of our taxes went to bailout the banks for their mistakes, then trillions more for war against nations that pose no threat to us – but when some politicians tried to help homeowners stay in their homes – not one penny will be spent to help them. Let them lose their homes. This should really outrage every “Patriotic American”. If it doesn’t shame on you.

How is it possible that “the world’s only superpower” is threatened by the likes of Iraq and Afghanistan? How can the US be a superpower if it is threatened by countries that have no military capability other than a guerilla capability to resist invaders?

These “wars” are a hoax designed to enrich the US armaments industry and to infuse the “security forces” with police powers over American citizenry.

Not a dime to prevent millions of Americans from losing their homes, but hundreds of billions of dollars to murder Muslim women and children and to create millions of refugees, many of whom will either sign up with insurgents or end up as the next wave of immigrants into America.

This is the way the American government works. And it thinks it is a “city on the hill, a light unto the world.”

Americans elected Obama because he said he would end the gratuitous criminal wars of the Bush brownshirts, wars that have destroyed America’s reputation and financial solvency and serve no public interest. But once in office Obama found that he was ruled by the military/security complex.

Never-ending Government Lies

A Brilliant article on how free markets built America – today the government bamboozles people into tax slavery by lying about how these financial crisis are caused by lack of regulation – which are actually created due to government intervention and over-regulation!

Now the government is setting interest rates and fees for credit card companies, dictating the health care costs, health care treatment and rationing of health care for us all – ignoring the fact that intervention and regulation is causing high health care costs. If I could buy my own health care from the lizard guy at Geico, health care costs would drop dramatically as hospitals and doctors would compete directly for my business.

We thought the Internet is the last free place on earth – no longer – Obama is appointing an Internet Czar and soon will be regulating the Internet.

Where in the Constitution is it written that this is the government’s job? People, you are witnessing the fall of the mighty USA,

Lately, the US government is invading and intruding way too much into the economy and into activities it historically never managed before.

Who says we are still a free country?

If Dr. Martin Luther King Was Alive Today….

The great civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said we should not judge people by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.

If he were alive today, he would be very disappointed with the Obama administration’s policies. Dr. King was one of the greatest critics of the US government’s war mongering ways. He was called a traitor by the media by for speaking against the Vietnam War. The Washington Post denounced Dr. King saying “King has diminished his usefulness to his cause, his country, his people.” He was sharply criticized by the so called “black leaders” of his time and the NAACP. But Dr. King was not deterred nor did he compromise his integrity. He was a true leader.

If you have been following the new US administration and its policies – you will by now know that President Obama’s policies are really no different than those of his predecessor – President George W. Bush when it comes to torture, war, bailouts for bankers, civil liberties, Israel, an increase in military spending, to name a few. Same policies – just bigger bigger amounts.

“A nation that continues year after year to spend more money on military defense than on programs of social uplift is approaching spiritual death,” Dr. King said. During that time President Lyndon Johnson was spending billions of dollars to destroy Vietnamese villages, towns and homes. Listen to or read the entire “Beyond Vietnam” speech of Dr. King.

Nearly 5,000 Americans have been killed in Iraq and Afghanistan and over a million Iraqis, and tens of thousands of Afghans slaughtered. War will cost us trillions of dollars that should have been invested in our schools, health care, etc. Trillions of dollars are being stolen from us as taxes and cannot be used by Americans to build better factories and bring about new businesses and new jobs. Trillions more of our taxes will be handed to bailout Maserati driving bankers who made bad investments. Nationalization of American banks is also illogical. How can we taxpayers pay for the losses of these banks but not get any of their profits? Nationalization of banks will be an utter failure – Even Tanzania realized that was wrong and gave it up in 1991. President Obama’s public works programs will only help people get jobs to fill pot holes on streets not create engineers, inventors or scientists.

When U.S. bombs drop on Afghan and Iraqi villages and towns, they also explode in American cities as well – East LA, South Central LA, Chicago’s South Side, and Harlem – because these trillions of dollars are taken away from America’s biggest future investment – its people.

This is definitely not the great dream that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. had in his famous “I have a dream” speech.

If he were alive today – Dr. King would demand that Congress use its constitutional authority and halt all spending on military presence of U.S. combat forces in Afghanistan and Iraq now.

If Dr. King were alive today – he would most likely ask President Obama “Where is the change and hope that Americans were promised?”

This is what he said in April 1967 – these words ring true even more today.

“I speak for those whose land is being laid waste, whose homes are being destroyed, whose culture is being subverted … I speak as a citizen of the world, for the world as it stands aghast at the path we have taken. I speak as an American to the leaders of my own nation. The great initiative in this war is ours. The initiative to stop it must be ours.”

In the spirit of Dr. King, Americans must strand up and speak out against our government’s unjust policies and immoral wars carried out in our name.

CNBC’s Rick Santelli denounces the Obama administration’s stimulus and its latest policy of subsidizing deadbeats and parasites at the expense of the productive. The other CNBC talking heads are confused, befuddled, and clueless, as usual.

But when he turns around and asks the traders on the floor how many of them would like to pay for their neighbor’s mortgage particularly if they bought far more house than they could actually afford, the whole floor goes wild! I couldn’t believe this is on mainstream media!

I discussed Barack Obama’s views on torture and civil liberties last year during the presidential campaign on my blog, I was hoping he would change his positions. Unfortunately not… This is like spitting on the graves of those slaves who built his new home – the White House. They too were tortured.

President Obama’s public rhetoric against torture is increasingly at odds with his decisons to defend John Yoo (the former Justice Department official who authored the “torture memo” justifying Bush administration policy), keep in place policies that have protected torture, and even keep in office Bush-era appointees who helped establish torture policies.

Wake Up America! The Hidden Truth

It is time to call your elected officials again, to write to them and to protest your taxes being given to Israel for mass murder and ethnic cleansing.

Write to your Congressperson and Senators as well as President Obama.

Tell them that military aid to Israel is illegal and immoral. It’s illegal because Israel uses this military aid in violation of the Arms Export Control Act and Foreign Assistance Act to commit human rights violations of Palestinians through its brutal military occupation and siege of the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and Gaza Strip.

It’s immoral because it is American weapons that are helping commit Israeli war crimes, massacres of women and children, carpet bombing of civilian areas and the occupation of Palestinians. All those war crimes are causing great humanitarian crises.

As a American taxpayer you refuse to be an accessory to Israel’s mass murder and war crimes. As an American you want your taxes to be spent on America and not go to fund Israeli genocide.

Terrorism of the Rich

Last week I mentioned America’s addiction to war. Well, our government proved it the very next day.

Last Friday, 3 days after becoming President, Commander in Chief of the US Armed Forces, Barack Hussein Obama ordered his first air strikes into Pakistan killing 22 people reportedly women and children amongst them according to UK newspaper The Guardian. Another operation last Sunday killed 16 Afghans – US and Afghans disagree on how many women and children killed. Sunday Times reports 3 children were killed. But who’s counting anyway?

This is what creates terrorists. Flying around the world to kill women and children indiscriminately. The husbands of those women and the fathers of those children will want revenge. As Gandhi said – “An eye for an eye will make the whole world blind.” This is what helps terrorist organizations recruit people.

But because we have spiffy uniforms, cool billion dollar weapons, made by defense contractors who pay off our politicians, who in return vote for war and Israel – our killing of women and children is praised with a flag waving frenzy and anyone who speaks out against killing by our soldiers is called a traitor and asked to shut up. We use fancy words like “military operations” like “Operation Iraqi Freedom” or “Operation Enduring Freedom” to carpet bomb civilians with depleted uranium.

President Obama first bombed remote villages which were no threat to us, where they cannot even spell America much less know where it is on the map, then after bloodying his hands decided to sign his first piece of legislation yesterday. This is a slap in the face to those Americans who voted for “change”. It shows that war and aid to Israel are more important than the needs of Americans.

What does it matter anyway? Our government will dismiss those women and children as “Collateral Damage” and then the Obamafest will continue through Superbowl weekend, screw those ragheads.

Our country is bankrupt, for the last 18 months California state has been borrowing money from Wall Street (the same people we are supposed to be bailing out) but our government somehow believes bombing countries is a bigger priority than our problems in America. Not even people in the Obama administration understand how or why. We are just ordered to “Support The Troops” like sheep while they commit these atrocities. As Judge Napolitano said, we have become a Nation of Sheep.

America has over 700 military bases in 130 countries. Many in countries whose citizens do not even want us there. If this is not an empire – what is?

There are over 70,000 homeless Americans in Los Angeles. About 14% of those are veterans – who have fought in America’s wars. One of them, a Vietnam vet, lived in a makeshift hut – kind of like those you would find in a slum in Bombay – right in North Hollywood (behind that hill with the famous “Hollywood” sign) less than few minutes away from my office – he lived there until officials demolished his hut for fear of fires. He now lives in cardboard boxes under the 101 freeway. They call him the Godfather…..of what… only God knows. Usually he’s out near the ramp with a sign that says “Will work for food” and sometimes does odd jobs for a few dollars or a meal.

This is how our government treats the people who fight for its wars.

President Obama, while you can look into the loving eyes of your own beautiful daughters and smile, take a moment and think about that grieving family you bombed somewhere in a village in Afghanistan. They will never look into the loving eyes of their children again.
