Where are the People for Humanity

When it comes to this conflict, most people are brain dead robots. There is no room for the thinking people. If you defend Israelis you are a Zionist, if you defend Palestinians you are a terrorist. No room for people who are on the side of humanity. If you choose to criticize those who hurt innocent civilians, regardless of any side, you are labeled, ridiculed and dismissed.

It is sad, but one thing is for sure – it’s not going to end well for the people of Gaza or Palestinians. There is no path to a Palestine state through such acts of violence, or mass murder of civilians. Hamas has a history, and deliberately targets civilians, they don’t care about any human lives. To them all Gazans are cannon fodder, human shields and “martyrs” (sacrificial lambs or collateral damage). Massacring innocent people attending a music festival, or going door to door shooting women and children shouting “Allah Hu Akbar!”, and kidnapping random civilians to execute and humiliate them isn’t “resistance” or anything Islamic or heroic or ”Jihad” and it certainly isn’t “defending” anything or anyone. This will only achieve to hurt innocent Gazan civilians (Hamas’ real goal).  As the IDF will be provoked to escalate their war. There are no winners in war.

You can also condemn actions of the IDF when they intentionally target civilians, but only an evil hypocrite will support Hamas’ actions as “defense” – like Shani Louk, the 30 year old German citizen attending a music festival, Hamas killed her, paraded her naked body in a truck shouting “Allah Hu Akbar” while spitting on her, that’s what pleases Allah? God knows what was done to her before she was murdered. It’s depraving and inhumane. People who say such acts, like rape and murder are “resistance” or “defense” have lost all moral arguments and are beyond reasoning. Hamas military spokesman says they will execute the civilian hostages (more than 30 taken) on live TV. Hamas even makes Yazid and his minions look like amateurs.

Dr. Norman Finkelstein is one of my favorite heros. He’s one of the most bravest people living in America today. It takes a tremendous amount of courage to speak the truth when everyone is against you and not listening. He has not let anything discourage him from speaking the truth.

Dr. Finkelstein was invited to give a speech at the University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, is posed a question from a Zionist. Unfortunately for her, she attempts to invoke the Holocaust to criticize Dr, Finkelstein, completely oblivious to Dr. Finkelstein’s own family history – both his mother and father were survivors of Nazi concentration camps and he lost more family members in the Holocaust than those shedding crocodile tears. In this clip, he first gets ambushed by her fellow Zionist supporters shouting Dr, Finkelstein down, but he quickly takes control of the situation and leaves her with no comeback.

Dr. Finkelstein is a Jewish American political scientist and author, whose primary fields of research are the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the politics of the Holocaust. A graduate of Binghamton University, he received his Ph.D in Political Science from Princeton University. He has held faculty positions at Brooklyn College, Rutgers University, Hunter College, New York University, and, most recently, DePaul University, where he was an assistant professor from 2001 to 2007.

Charles Freeman: Fails Loyalty to Israel Test

“Change we can believe in” example number 98,792….Charles Freeman, who was appointed for the Chairman of National Intelligence was terminated because of his past criticism of Israeli actions such as Israeli Apartheid, genocide, mass murder, stealing Palestinian land, destroying Palestinian resources, bulldozing Palestinian homes and then building “settlements” on top of them, and stealing from the US taxpayers to pay for all of it in the form of military and economic aid. He was overthrown because he believes America’s interests should be put ahead of Israel’s.

My fellow Americans…. please don’t hold your breath for “change”. You will be extremely disappointed.

UPDATE: Prior to the announcement that the Freeman appointment was terminated, Max Blumenthal documented that the man leading the anti-Freeman assault was Steve Rosen, the long-time AIPAC official currently on trial for violations of the Espionage Act in connection with the transmission of classified U.S. information intended for Israel. Blumenthal also quotes foreign policy analyst Chris Nelson as follows:

Freeman is stuck in the latest instance of the deadly power game long played here on what level of support for controversial Israeli government policies is a “requirement” for US public office. If Obama surrenders to the critics and orders [Director of National Intelligence Dennis Blair] to rescind the Freeman appointment to chair the NIC, it is difficult to see how he can properly exercise leverage, when needed, in his conduct of policy in the Middle East. That, literally, is how the experts see the stakes of the fight now under way.

Gaza 2009 – We Will Never Forget

IDF Shoots Father, Two Brothers – Then Prevents Ambulance

Here is a truly shocking story that our propaganda machine – the “fair and balanced” US mainstream media – would never show. Thumbs up to NYC based independent news program “Democracy Now!” for taking on this story of Amer Shurrab, a Palestinian from Khan Yunis living in the United States:

“On Friday, his dad and two brothers were fleeing their village when their vehicle came under Israeli fire. His brother, twenty-eight-year-old Kassab, died in a hail of bullets trying to flee the vehicle. His other brother, eighteen years old, Ibrahim, survived the initial attack, but Israeli troops refused to allow an ambulance to reach him and his father until twenty hours later. By then, it was too late. Ibrahim had bled to death in front of his father.”

In Gaza, Ambulances have to give coordinates to the IDF to be able to get to rescue civilians otherwise they are shot like the many who tried to without IDF approval. This is a war crime. Simply inhuman.

The next time you look at your pay stubs and complain how much taxes you are paying or when you sit down and write that check to the IRS on April 15 – just remember that a portion of that money is paying for this.

Alan Dershowitz, apologist for the Israel lobby in the US, put out an op-ed column in the LA Times, January 10, 2009 titled “Hamas’ War Crimes” defending the massacre of Palestinians in Gaza and ignoring every crime Israel has committed from the economic blockade to violation of the ceasefire to its deliberate targeting of civilians using bombs banned by international law such as the DIME bombs and use of white phosphorus.

Consider another related situation: An armed robber breaks into your house. He kills several family members and forces the rest of your family into a closet. If you want to eat, you have to ask him. You can’t go to work. The kids he hasn’t killed cannot go to school.

When you complain, he opens the door and fires his gun into your closet — and don’t hold your breath for medical aid. The police won’t help because they’re on his side. They’ll even lend him more bullets.

Has anyone heard from President-Elect Obama yet?

The death toll so far in this Gaza massacre on its 17th day:

917 Palestinians murdered, over 4,100 wounded. More than a quarter of them children.

Israel has lost 13 Israelis – three civilians- and 10 soldiers — have died including 4 killed by “friendly fire”.

How sad is it to see that while cities around the world were protesting Israel’s massacre this weekend, in America, the House of Representatives and the Senate were scrambling to see who is more loyal to Israel? Only Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich were brave enough to speak out against Israel’s mass murder. The rest applauded and praised Israel’s genocide while they voted to support slaughter of women and children.

The US Senate endorsed Israel’s massacre of Palestinians with a vote of 100-0.

The US House of Representatives voted 430-5 to endorse Israel’s massacre of Palestinians.

The resolutions endorsed by 100% of the US Senate and 99% of the House were written by Israeli lobby – AIPAC – As were the speeches praising and commending Israel for war crimes and gross inhumanity.

What a shame – our elected representatives are nothing more than puppets of AIPAC and proudly support the massacre of woman and children. They have front row seats to genocide. Please call them up and tell them.

Self Defense? Was it self defense when Israeli soldiers told Gaza residents to get into a building, telling them they would not be bombed there and then bombed it anyway? It was no accident – accidentally you can bomb once, may be twice but three times? What kind of monster does that?

Human Rights Watch has also accused Israel of using white phosphorus – if you recall white phosphorus was used by the US and Britain in Iraq –especially during the massacre in Fallujah. How ironic – Saddam used white phosphorus on his people and so did the US. White phosphorus is banned by international law and is also being considered as a chemical weapon. Doctors in Gaza have reported burns on bodies that can only be caused by white phosphorus. Israel has also used white phosphorus when they bombed Lebanon in 2006.

Finally – salutations and praise to the 700 Israelis arrested for protesting against their government’s war crimes in Gaza. God bless them for knowing the difference between right and wrong and are not afraid to speak out.
