Christopher Raithle ha compartido esto🚀 Incredible what Emmi AI and its Co-Founders Dennis Just, Johannes Brandstetter & Miks Mikelsons have built in slightly more than one year! Very happy and proud to be a small part of their story by investing in Emmi AI in their first round!! Congrats to the whole Emmi AI team! #AI #EmmiAI #MistralChristopher Raithle ha compartido estoLe chat is out of the bag. Emmi AI is joining Mistral AI. Today, two of Europe’s leading AI companies are joining forces, to expand Mistral's category leadership as the partner of choice for industrial companies solving the world's hardest problems. Now reaching deep into Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering. Not even two years ago, Johannes Brandstetter, Miks Mikelsons and I started Emmi with a conviction that industrial simulation and physics would become one of the defining frontiers of AI, and that Europe had every right to lead it. We achieved more than we set out to do in this short window of time: • We built the leading AI research lab for industrial engineering. • We showed, again, that Europe has the power to bring novel technologies to the world. • And we did it with a team that chose science, depth, and substance over noise. Looking back from today, I clearly gained more grey hair and a few more kilos than I had originally planned for, but I can say without hesitation that every single minute has been worth it. Now we get to scale this forward with one of the strongest Research, GTM and Solution organizations on the planet. A massive thank you to the people and institutions who backed us from day one, when our seed round was the largest in Austria's history and frequently doubted out loud: Speedinvest ( Andreas Schwarzenbrunner, Oliver Holle ), 3VC ( Peter Lasinger, Eva Arh ), Serena ( Guillaume Decugis, Juliette Ast ) and PUSH ( Laurenz Simbruner , Christopher Raithle ). You believed before there was anything to believe in but us. Arthur Mensch, Guillaume Lample, Timothee Lacroix - the journey just started!

Christopher Raithle ha compartido estoChristopher Raithle ha compartido estoWe are joining forces with Mistral AI to build the future of industrial engineering together. When we started Emmi AI less than two years ago, we believed engineering would become one of the most important frontiers for AI. Since then, our team has built Physics AI systems that accelerate engineering workflows, replace multi-day simulations with real-time inference, and enable a new generation of engineering and digital twins. Now, together with Mistral AI, we take the next step. By combining Mistral’s world-class AI platform with Emmi AI’s expertise in Physics AI and data-driven engineering, we aim to build the leading AI stack for Industrial Engineering. This is also a strong signal for Europe: world-class AI, science, and industrial engineering can be built here. Most importantly - thank you to the Emmi AI team, customers, partners, and supporters who believed in this mission from day one. The journey is only getting started. 🚀

The chronology of a huge success story - from an investor’s (& friend’s) prespective 🚀 December 2011 – (LeWeb, Paris): Chatting with Florian Gschwandtner. He tells me about the idea of a device/software for pet tracking 🙏 At that point, I was not yet even a shareholder in Runtastic. February 2012 – tractive is founded by Michael Hurnaus, Michael Lettner Michael Tschernuth, Florian Gschwandtner, Alfred Luger, Christian Kaar, Rene Giretzlehner, Georg & Jochen Krippl. April 2012 – I buy 13% of Runtastic (fastest and smoothest transaction ever). February 2013 – I agree with Michael Hurnaus to invest in Tractive ❤️ September 2014 – Wolfgang Reisinger joins Tractive as COO and late co-founder. Best hire ever. Tractive starts selling pet trackers - and never stops growing fast 🚀. What a performance by the team. What an impressive success story. What a wonderful journey with outstanding founders and shareholders. I am incredibly proud to have been part of it and deeply thankful to Michi and his amazing Tractive team. And what a finish. After nearly 14 years of hard work and continued success (and approximately 3.000 Tractive emails in my inbox 😎), this is the mother of all (Austrian) tech exits. Thank you Michi (“Mr. Subscription” and super CEO) and Wolfi (“Mr. Super COO”) for leading this ship with unbelievable dedication, hard work, focus, and precision in planning and execution - while simultaneously running “side projects” like buying and selling companies 😅. And thank you even more for your friendship 🙏 Thank you also to all other shareholders who joined along the journey over the years: Harold Primat (whose investment story alone would deserve a separate post), Alexander Kudlich from 468 Capital, Attila Balogh, Nico Wittenborn from Adjacent and my always professional and helpful fellow board member Chris Cavanaugh from Guidepost Growth Equity. Christopher Raithle ha recomendado esto🚀 I’m super excited to share that Tractive has been acquired by Bending Spoons. 🚀 A huge milestone for Tractive, for Austrian tech, and probably the largest tech exits Austria has ever seen. I have “only” been part of this journey for the last five years, but in those five years, I was very lucky to see the company from very close up, as Johann 'Hansi' Hansmann was also a board member. Michael Hurnaus, Wolfgang Reisinger and the team built Tractive with a level of focus, product obsession and operational excellence that is rare. They never seemed satisfied with “good enough”. There was always another detail to improve, another process to sharpen, another product experience to make better for pet parents and their pets. That kind of continuous improvement sounds simple, but doing it year after year, at scale, while growing fast, is anything but ordinary. Almost every monthly report stated „Best Month Ever“. I personally always appreciated a lot that Tractive was never only just a great company in our portfolio. Michael and Wolfgang were always very open in sharing their learnings with our other founders in the Hans(wo)men Group. They talked honestly about what worked, what didn’t, and what others could learn from their journey - whether it was around product, subscriptions, culture, hiring or scaling internationally. I know this was incredibly valuable for many founders in our group. And to me, this is also part of what makes Tractive special: they did not only build a great company, they also helped others build better companies by sharing what they learned along the way. So today is not just the closing of a transaction. It is the result of 14 years of focus, resilience, ambition and outstanding execution. Huge congratulations to Michael Hurnaus, Wolfgang Reisinger, Michael Lettner, Michael Tschernuth and the entire Tractive team. I am very grateful to have witnessed a part of this story. What a team. What a journey. 💙🐶🐱 Florian Gschwandtner Alfred Luger Christian Kaar Rene Giretzlehner Chris Cavanagh Harold Primat Arnaud Waehlti Attila Balogh Alexander Kudlich Nico Wittenborn Prof. Dr. Thor Stephan Stubner Andrew Wait

Christopher Raithle ha recomendado estoChristopher Raithle ha recomendado estoThis is such a full-circle moment, I don't even know where to start 💫 I am beyond proud of Johannes, Dennis, Miks, and the whole rockstar team here at Emmi AI 🧡 By joining forces with Mistral AI, so much that has been on our long-term roadmap will become reality in the next few weeks. We'll continue to deploy breakthrough AI for Engineering technology across the world's biggest industrial enterprises - just better, faster, and at greater scale. Big things ahead for Physics AI. 🪄 And to all my simulation, physics, and engineering obsessed people in my network: we are hiring big time! Links in the comments :)

Christopher Raithle ha recomendado estoChristopher Raithle ha recomendado estoA year ago, we co-led their seed round. Today Emmi AI is being acquired by Mistral AI in one of Europe's most significant AI acquisitions to date. At Serena Data Ventures, we don't invest for a year. We invest to build. Especially when the ambition and technology are of the caliber we saw with Emmi AI - which game-changing technology has the potential to reshape how complex industrial systems are designed and operated, bringing time to perform physics-accurate simulations from 48-72 hours to real time. In this case, however, the industrial synergies and the economics were simply too strong to ignore - and they brought the timeline forward, bringing massive scale to the Emmi's technology. Dennis, Johannes and Miks not only had the type of unfair advantage you rarely see, having spent years working on the science behind Emmi but they also managed to execute brilliantly on productizing it and signing their first large industrial clients, bringing proof points ahead of our strategic roadmap - as for instance with the launch of their first Large Engineering Models back in Q1, proving they were the first company capable of providing a generalizable, universal solution. Leadership in this market will go to whoever scales proprietary data acquisition fastest, and that is precisely the acceleration we felt Mistral would bring to Emmi's technology. We also see it as a strategic turn for Mistral, moving from a horizontal AI platform toward a dominant position in vertical AI for engineering, mirroring the direction the most ambitious frontier AI companies are taking - as Anthropic with agentic coding for instance. As someone who just recently became a VC, this also reinforces the conviction we share with Bertrand, Floriane, Matthieu and Juliette which is at the core of the Data Ventures thesis: in breakthough innovation such as AI, specialized investors with disciplined technical focus and founders' background can win differentiated access in competitive deals to the most ambitious founders and tech. And as a European, I'm glad to see this type of stories in Europe: "3-year old decacorn making a bold move to pay a premium for a 1-year old tech" is the type of stories I've been used to hear in SF. Even if outcomes of this scale over such a short period remain exceptionally rare in European venture, it's good to see that type of velocity starting to happen in Europe as well. We're proud and honored to have partners with Emmi AI from the start. Congrats to Dennis, Johannes, Miks, Arthur, Guillaume and the Emmi and Mistral teams for making this beautiful and bold move: we're excited to see this journey continue to change the world! Kudos as well to our co-investors with whom we share this fantastic ride: Peter Lasinger from 3VC, Andreas Schwarzenbrunner from Speedinvest and Laurenz Simbruner from PUSH. Not to forget NXAI where the team originated. And a big thank you to Emma Guetta who worked with us as an analyst on this deal and did an amazing job!

Christopher Raithle ha recomendado estoChristopher Raithle ha recomendado estoYes, Emmi AI is acquired by Mistral AI. Yes, it’s a mesmerizing day. A lot of things have already been said. Let’s be personal: What excites me the most: - We are working on a few large-scale research projects. If any of those succeeds, it will be game-changing. - We are working with big players from many industrial verticals. We want to build better products, better engineering. We go all in on that! - When I met Arthur Mensch for the first time end of February, it clicked instantly. The same vision: industrial engineering and manufacturing is the next AI frontier, and Europe has both the talent and the responsibility to lead it. What changes now is the scale. Mistral comprehends our world-class team, adding compute and enterprise customers ready for real engineering transformation. What doesn't change is the mission: foundational intelligence for engineering. Digital twins that capture real physics. Agentic engineering, where systems don't just simulate but reason, design, and iterate alongside engineers. Thank you to our investors Speedinvest, 3VC, Serena, and PUSH, who backed this vision from day one. Thanks Dennis Just and Miks Mikelsons for the ride so far. Thanks Guillaume Lample Timothee Lacroix Arthur Mensch for the trust! The next few years are going to be the most interesting our field has seen in a generation. We intend to be the lab that defines them. Emmi AI is special. Joining Mistral is how we give it the future it deserves. Let's GO!

💥 2.3%. That’s how much global VC funding went to female-only founding teams in 2024. And Carina Abreu and I are part of that 2.3%. While $289 billion in venture capital was deployed globally last year, only $6.7 billion reached women building companies from scratch. Meanwhile, 83.6% went to all-male founding teams. Yes — the numbers improved slightly from 2023. But at this pace, the world won’t see gender parity in venture funding until 2065. As two female tech founders building C-MORE — a European AI-native intelligence company — we feel these numbers deeply. Not as statistics, but as lived reality. Every milestone takes more resilience, more proof, more traction, more “show me again.” And yet, we keep building. We keep scaling. We keep proving that greatness has no gender. Because innovation is not male or female — it’s courageous. Carina Abreu and I didn’t enter tech to fit into an existing system. We entered to redesign it. To build a company that makes intelligence accessible to the 99% of businesses who get left behind — the same way female founders often do. So here’s to the 2.3%. To every woman building something that statistics say shouldn’t exist. To every founder rewriting the norms. To every team proving that excellence doesn’t need permission — it just needs a chance. And may we accelerate the path so the next generation doesn’t have to wait until 2065.
