Harda – A Seed is Sown

A trip back in time will definitely take me to a day in Harda. It’s a tiny town at the heart of Madhya Pradesh. Unnoticeable railway station, shabby outdoors, pathetic roads, and yet an amazingly calm and earthly demeanor that makes you feel at home.

I first met this place on a wet day. Me and my brother were to appear for an entrance test at our first convent school. It was tough – for English was never our forte. They kept talking to us in that foreign language all the while getting us to appear for tests in Mathematics, Science, and English. I don’t remember the marks I scored then, but the principal seemed pretty satisfied with however we had performed. I remember dad buying our books, notebooks, and our uniforms from their stationery shop. I remember the parking, the church, buildings under construction, ducks, birds, green color of the wet trees, incessant rain, and the hooting from the trains passing by the nearby railway station.

By the time, we completed the admission formalities, we got late and dad decided to buy us dinner from a nearby market. I remember us searching for food throughout the town in that rain. The rain, the rain, I just can’t get that rain out of my head. It just never drizzled. It poured all day so hard and with such ferocity, it forced shopkeepers to stay in and finding an eatery was hard. After much search though, we found a street side vendor selling CHAAT and GOLGAPPE (Pani Puri) in a deserted street.

GOLGAPPE – ones that I was going to remember for all my life. Now to let all of you in on what GOLGAPPE are all about, let me show you a picture and the procedure on how they are served –

Pani Puri

These are served with a filling made from potatoes and peas and later filled with tangy tamarind or mango water. You then put the whole thing at one go inside your mouth and let it blast inside, leaving a heavenly taste on your tongue and on the cheek walls. Now, these are so thin, they tend to sog even with mild moisture in the air and that day, it was pouring. So to add some taste to them, he added hot fillings, off the stove. There were no potatoes, only peas and I’m yet to taste anything like that till date. Somehow he had added magic.

When we returned though, all I remember having was a rather unwelcome feeling of separation!

What I’d like to visit from that day again –

1. The GOLGAPPE.

2. The railway station.

3. That rain.

4. That school compound.

5. I’d like to know the marks I scored in my English test.

What I’d like to skip on my next visit –

NOTHING!

Pizza’s and Such!

My life is a pizza not many relate to. It has toppings that some like, some don’t yet everyone cherishes! I can’t very clearly define my codes for life (the ingredients) because they keep moulding with every different asshole I meet in a day. But I can certainly try to enumerate them and lets see how it goes. This is a one of a kind exercise and hence, today’s daily prompt will be some fun for me –

1. I don’t give a fuck. I live this line every moment. No matter who you are, what you do, and how you’re related to me (unless you are my family) you can expect a middle finger on your face with a disgusting expression that may spoil your day. Beware!

2. I mean no harm. I am a man of very little means and whatever I go about, holds a meaning solely for me and not you. You were never in picture when the thought crossed my mind and never will be. Only exception is when you’re already informed to hold your pants up to your hole else you may blow in your undies!

3. I respect everyone and this holds till my face emanates acceptance. If I don’t respect you, you’re probably lucky to even converse with me.

4. I genuinely believe in intelligence and logic. You may argue that these terms hold no meaning in certain situations and that some humans coined them for their own perusal but my point is straight – these terms define a territory a human mind must function inside. Anything out of them, must say fun on the face else you don’t deserve my company!

5. Savor my attention. You won’t get it often.

6. My world doesn’t abide by stupid social norms. I do what I do because I want to do it and never for any other reason.

7. Regarding society, it mustn’t exist except for exchanging food. Food says love like nothing else.

8. If you’ve gotten me disinterested, I’m already not listening. If I’m sitting there, trust me that I’m getting paid to do it!

9. Regarding things materialistic – I love Maggi, Pizza, green vegetables, and home cooked food. I hate mostly nothing (that’s because I can’t remember what I specifically hate right now).

10. I’m a great friend and an even more unrelenting foe. I never forget either.

This can make for a great introduction, right? But people tend to run away from people like me except when I’m funny or talking about love.

Thanks for reading though for it was even more fun writing!

Why the fuck can’t people keep their mouths totally shut when chewing their food??? Is it a case of Misophonia when I say that I feel like I should put those assholes onto a permanent liquid diet by sealing their lips tight by either gluing them or sewing them together???

Please please please… stop making that sound around me!!! It smashes my soul to the core!!!

Sharing

I see them. I see them everyday. In my TV, on my FB wall, Pinterest, Twitter and quite a lot everywhere around me. Yeah, right. I’m jealous. People having all sorts of fun all the time, posting pictures, the sun, the moon, the stars, the sea, the mountains, the lakes, the oceans, orange, green, blue, buildings with immaculate architectures. Why do we post everything on Facebook, twitter or blah blah??? Having fun is fine but we create albums only to share. Share – I guess thats the answer most people will give to my questions. People who fail to understand that all that they are doing is giving someone and something completely unknown the power to control their information, some of whom may be very personal. Doesn’t it scare you?
