I’ll Take The Good Times

I’ve been getting so fancy lately, what with all the festive, party season releases, and Collabor88’s Nostalgia theme that started yesterday has only helped to feed that trend. I picked up, 6 or 7 new dresses and a toooon of hair, so you might have to bear with me getting my glam on again for a lil bit.

This dress from House of Fox was one of my favourites, as soon as I saw the ad for it on Flickr, I knew it was gonna be love. I wasn’t wrong. I added a flower, which is actually a hair piece, on my hip where the fabric would rouch, to help co-ordinate my black accessories.

The hair is also a new item from D!va who made up for their absence at last months round by producing 4 different hairstyles and as usual they’re super sweet and wispy. Still one of my favourite hair brands for using in pics.

Other new items from C88, the skin from Glam Affair, also the more modern chain necklace from them as well and finally the clutch from Baiastice.

Oh and yes, I know I’m wearing sunglasses in the snow, thank you for noticing daaaarling!

No Lies

I don’t do NSFW posts very often, but there’s something about these chain style necklaces that Zibska creates that just makes me wanna ditch half my clothes! This new one is a unisex item that you can find at The Mens Dept, it’s great for creating a sexy look that’s still classy too.

The hat I’m wearing is also a new item at The Mens Dept by Remarkable Oblivion. I’ve seen a ton of pics already with it on Flickr so I’m sure it’s nothing new to you, but it’s another really well made and original piece of mesh from them and it’s pretty damn cool too.

The couch and chandeliers fitted the mood perfectly for this picture, they’re both new items from MudHoney who are a guest at this months round of Collaborate. The couch however, is not your usual couch. It comes with 3 different pieces, chair, corner and ottoman, so you can mix and match them to whichever configuration you like. I used 2 chair pieces and an ottoman one for this pic, to create a chaise style couch.

Finally the feet I’m wearing are a preview of JD’s MyFeet which are going to be released in a couple of days at Shoetopia! This is going to be a great, popular event and I know I’m not the only person who is busting with excitement for it. Friday can’t come soon enough!

On The Road Of Least Resistance

I decided I wanted to blog a more casual look today since it feels like I’ve mostly been taking either fancy, horror or cute pics lately, when in fact this is how you’d more likely catch me dressed around the grid. Something casual, over sized and comfy looking. More often than not I’m barefoot too, but I am so happy that Coco released these Ugg style boots and I can see myself wearing them a lot over the next couple of months. You can find them in a gacha machine at The Chapter Four, 75Ls per play, so I ended up with a few different colours before I got the chocolate ones I wanted, my dupes were given to friends as a little gift since they’re transfer.

I loved the feel of the sepia windlight for this scene and look that I put together, and I actually built this outfit around the shirt/cardigan combo I’m wearing. This is a new item from Gabriel that you can find at The Mens Dept. It is made for men and not women though, so ladies please make sure you demo before you buy it. There’s no shaping for your tata’s, but you can get away with it pretty easily as an oversized, baggy top. I’m wearing the mens small size which is the smallest it comes in.

Finally I added Drifts new unisex, chunky scarf, which has a great cable knit texture and lots of dark, autumn shades to choose from. Oh and a small note about this bag, it’s from House of Fox and it’s old but honestly it’s been a staple in my SL inventory for a while now. I have one almost identical in RL and it’s pretty much my go to bag for day to day use, so makes sense that I use it a lot in SL too!

Walk This Way

Happy Monday everyone!

I’ve got a couple of new things to show you today and some other bits that were released last week. First the top and skirt I’m wearing are from Baiastice at FaMESHed that opened a few days ago. I love the high neck sweater with short sleeves combo on the top, it’s perfect for the change of season as we’re into autumn, and the belt on the skirt is a really nice touch to make it a little bit different from other pencil skirts. Lots of fall colours are available in both of these.

The vest I’m wearing I’m so in love with, it’s the perfect item to throw on over sweaters, tees, tanks, anything really and because it’s quite a loose style it’s not hard to fit other mesh beneath it. I’m really hoping we see lots of nice fur or woolen vests over the coming seasons. You can find this one at the We Love RP event by C’est La Vie.

The hair is a recent release from Truth that was out last week and I love that it’s not as big as some of his other wavy styles because I do prefer them that way. The pose is also new out from Imeka that you can pick up at their main store. Check out my ditsy floral tights too, they’re new from Canibelle and come with SLink appliers!

Finally the location is the Neva Sky Villi which just opened a few days ago. It’s of course owned by the insanely talented Neva Crystall and is just a beautiful scene full of items made by inspired creators. There are so many great spots to stop and take a picture, I really recommend checking it out.

Well I’m about to go off on holiday in RL for a couple weeks, so I thought it was kind of appropriate to grab my HoF luggage and take a snap.

The dress I’m wearing is new from Drift, with lots of different bright colours to choose from. I love the raw silk texture work and, you might have noticed that I have a penchant for black accessories, so the black seam detail was perfect for me to tie in with those.

Also, you may or may not be aware that Elikatira has reopened. I only found out through Plurk, since I’m not in the group, but I believe there were some group gifts (for existing members only, the group is/was closed to new members) and then several styles released into the new store. I’m wearing one that is actually a pretty sleek bob which I love, but I attacked it in PS to give more of a windswept look.

I took the picture at the new Glam Affair site, which reopened this weekend, it’s a great mesh city build and even if you don’t need to shop there, I highly recommend checking it out!

This is gonna be all from me for a couple of weeks now, and I’m sure there will be plenty of new releases for me to catch up on when I’m back!

A Little Birdy Told Me….

There are so many fantastic events going on right now, with autumn fashions making a big splash on the grid, so I’m put this simple little look together with a few new pieces.

Birdy is one of those skin brands, like The Skinnery, that I always see pictures of people looking fantastic in on Flickr, but a lot of the time when I demo them and see them on myself my reaction is…oh. Something about my shape just doesn’t really suit them but I went out to demo this Ingrid skin from Birdy that you can find at The Chapter Four (for only 99Ls!!) and I just loved it. It won’t replace my every day Glam Affair skins, but I’ll definitely be pulling it out when I need a change. I used Annan Adored’s Tan Skin windlight setting for the close up because it gives some nice added saturation to the skin that I can play around with in PS if I want to. I visited the Birdy main store to pick up the appliers for SLink hands and feet and decided that the sim was so pretty that I’d take my pictures there too!

Some more new things from Collabor88, this fantastic long line cardigan from House of Fox, I love the slightly square shape to the shoulders on the mesh, which makes it a little bit different. Also new are these boots from Ison @ C88 which, I’m not gonna lie, are just to die for. They’re obviously mesh and at only 188Ls a pair you can easily afford to stock up for autumn and winter!

I’m wearing this new hairstyle from Tulip as well, which is available at The Seasons Story event. This is absolutely my favourite one Mina has made so far, I didn’t even want to edit it with wisps and strands like I normally try to do, because I just loved it the way it was.

Finally both the poses are from a new autumn set that Kirin released for The Seasons Story too!

The Next Day and The Next Day

There was a discussion on Plurk a few days ago about whether or not people preferred their favourite brands to participate in regular events, or to put out releases in their main stores. I am definitely a store shopper, mostly I can’t be bothered to trawl through the marketplace, so I do visit my favourite stores fairly often, and I’d like to see more releases in them, but I also still get excited about a few of the regular events and always try to go on the days they open. So basically, in my ideal world, creators would have a clone of themselves so they can participate in all the events all the time, as well as put out regular store releases 😀

I did notice though that I tend to blog more things that are sold at events, rather than main store releases. I think this is most likely because when a new round of whatever event opens, I buy a ton of stuff from all different creators and can easily fill my inventory up with things to blog for an entire week or two from just one event.

Anyway, in an effort to blog more store releases and not just event items, I decided to show this cute tank dress from House of Fox that was released a week or so ago at their main location. I’m absolutely in love with the denim version and have worn it almost every day since I bought it. It’s so easy to glam up or style down into a more casual outfit that I think it’s an absolute essential for a virtual wardrobe.

I’ve also added the new hair from Wasabi Pills that was out for C88, I don’t wear many short dos but I haven’t taken this one off! It’s such a classic style and the headband is a great addition. Another favourite of mine from this months Collab are these shoes from Milk Motion that I’m wearing. They’re add ons for the SLink feet and I can’t tell you how excited I am to see more and more of my favourite designers making add ons for these. Although I, of course owned plenty of shoes in world, 9 times out of 10 when I was getting dressed for the day I’d normally have gone barefoot, but not anymore! Now I just need SLink to make the tip toe version of the feet available for add ons too, coz I do love me some high, high heels.

The last bit of new are my vintage style sunglasses from Glam Affair at Collabor88 and the cute pose is one of several from Kirin’s new Florence set out there too.

All That Attitude

I just have a couple of new things I wanted to show you quickly today with this picture. First of all this casual new tank that you can get from Milk Motion at Summerfest! It’s cut very low at the sides so there’s a healthy dosage of side boob, but I was feeling modest today and decided to wear a huge bra with it too! I love the way the mesh has been made so that it really looks like it’s just hanging from your avatars body though, definitely a must have for this season!

Also the hat I’m wearing is new from Miamai at L’accessoires. It comes with 2 options, with hair or without. I’m wearing the hair that it comes with in this pic and there’s a HUD so you can choose which colour hair you want, and matching hair bases.

Finally I’m using a pose from Kirin’s latest set, these are probably my favourite so far and I can’t tell you how happy I am to see another cute new pose store on the grid!

Getting Tipsy

It was about time I did another post with my friend Harper, so when the opportunity came up to get a sneaky preview of the new GOL 9th Club that’s opening soon, we jumped at the chance.

GOL 9th is the newest edition to the GOL clubs and will open officially this Friday, the 24th of May at 10am SLT. The creator and founder, Dakota Neumann has done a great job, with lots of amazing, unique textures setting the scene of a chic nightclub. I’ll definitely be popping by when they open! SLURL is here, you won’t be able to gain access until Friday, but that’s ok, it gives you plenty of time to plan a fabulous outfit!

I’m wearing a cute new hair that’s available from Dura, along with the new bad kitty collar from Maxi Gossamer at Limited Bazar. It’s texture change with several different animal skin prints, I picked it up this morning and they still weren’t sold out so still time to grab it!

I’m wearing the striped pants which are a sleek, recent release from Coco and I added the Lari halterneck from Baiastice that you can find at The Boutique, plenty of colours to choose from with both! Also the Baiastice Jean shoes, I know I’ve blogged them before but I just love love them, so versatile!

There have been so many great new releases the last few days it was hard for me to know where to start. So I mixed a bunch of things up for this post!

First of all these new jeans were released by Tulip. There’s two versions, your regular blue and grey shades as well as coloured versions. I’m wearing the blush shade here and I love them! They’re a great staple item for your SL wardrobe.

The Liason Collaborative started a new round of The Boutique today and I can’t tell you how beyond excited I was to see these Spring Fling sandals from LVLE. They come in several summery shades and are made to fit with the SLink bare mesh feet. I love that more creators are starting to make shoes around them and I hope that it opens up the market to other designers who might have great shoe ideas but don’t want the hassle of making the feet too. Especially now that we have the appliers for the SLink feet, just adding a pair of shoes over them is the perfect solution to all my skin matching woes! Anyway I love these sandals and I’ll defintely be sporting them a lot this spring/summer!

Yesterday Truth released SIX new hair styles for us to spend our Ls on, there are new colour packs available so make sure you grab a demo for those as well! Truth also started a model search competition that will run until the 1st of June. You can read all the rules and info on the prizes here in the competition Flickr group. I love this retro style Sadie hair so I decided to do something of a pin up style entry.
