Somewhere The Sun Is Shining

Yes I know it’s October and we’re only 28 days from Halloween, but when I saw this dress from Amarelo Manga I couldn’t get the image of a girl strolling around a marina out of my head, luckily in SL we have the ability to go to just the place with a simple click. So even though it’s October and probably a bit grey outside, let’s just pretend I went somewhere fabulous like St Barths, k? K.

I’m wearing the Angelica skin from Glam Affair in this pic, which was released along with Lucy a couple of weeks ago. It’s really an adorable and youthful looking skin, but actually a bit too youthful for something I’d want to wear every day so out of the two for me, I do prefer Lucy.

I’m using another new pose from Kirin that’s from the same pack as the one I used yesterday, but I did modify this a little using Animare since the shape of the skirt meant my hand was lost in it somewhere.

So now that I realised it’s actually Thursday and not Friday (so disappointed), I’m off to do some more pics!

Bright Lights, Big City

Oh look, two posts in one day! That rarely happens for me but I’m like a blogging machine this week lemme tell ya.

So can you guess where the items I’m wearing are from? That’s right! It’s more from Avenue Fashion Week! As I mentioned before this event only runs for one week so make sure you go look before it’s gone! I really tried to mix up the different styles this week to show you some of what’s available, but you can also check out the official Flickr group here to get a look at everyone elses great pics!

I mentioned the new accessories store Amnesia in my post earlier and these 2 necklaces are both new releases from them too. When you’re wearing dresses or outfits which are one colour or simple colour blocks statement jewellery pieces are a great way to style them up and both these necklaces are perfect for it.

I’m wearing two more hairs from Tableau Vivant too, the curly style on the left was new for the reopening a couple of weeks ago and let’s be honest, there’s not enough great curly mesh hairs in SL, plenty of wavy ones, but not curly, so I fell in love with this style instantly. The sleek, long do on the right was released yesterday at FaMESHed.

Finally, both my poses are new from two of my favourite pose stores, Kirin and Imeka. The Kirin pose on the right is going to be at the latest round of Acid Lily, while you can pick the Imeka pose up at The Chapter Four which opens Oct 4th, both at discounted prices!

A Little Birdy Told Me

There are so many fantastic events going on right now, with autumn fashions making a big splash on the grid, so I’m put this simple little look together with a few new pieces.

Birdy is one of those skin brands, like The Skinnery, that I always see pictures of people looking fantastic in on Flickr, but a lot of the time when I demo them and see them on myself my reaction is…oh. Something about my shape just doesn’t really suit them but I went out to demo this Ingrid skin from Birdy that you can find at The Chapter Four (for only 99Ls!!) and I just loved it. It won’t replace my every day Glam Affair skins, but I’ll definitely be pulling it out when I need a change. I used Annan Adored’s Tan Skin windlight setting for the close up because it gives some nice added saturation to the skin that I can play around with in PS if I want to. I visited the Birdy main store to pick up the appliers for SLink hands and feet and decided that the sim was so pretty that I’d take my pictures there too!

A Little Birdy Told Me

Some more new things from Collabor88, this fantastic long line cardigan from House of Fox, I love the slightly square shape to the shoulders on the mesh, which makes it a little bit different. Also new are these boots from Ison @ C88 which, I’m not gonna lie, are just to die for. They’re obviously mesh and at only 188Ls a pair you can easily afford to stock up for autumn and winter!

I’m wearing this new hairstyle from Tulip as well, which is available at The Seasons Story event. This is absolutely my favourite one Mina has made so far, I didn’t even want to edit it with wisps and strands like I normally try to do, because I just loved it the way it was.

Finally both the poses are from a new autumn set that Kirin released for The Seasons Story too!

And Then I Woke Up

Such a massive contrast in this picture today compared to the little bit NSFW one I did yesterday. This is one of the things I love about Second Life, I can be anything I want on any given day and I hope I manage to get that across on my blog with the mix up of pictures I take.

Anyway, I love this super pretty, romantic look. The top is a new item from Baiastice at FaMESHed, while the skirt is from Davi Designs, which actually comes as a set with another top but I wanted to mix n match. The hair is a new release as well from Tulip for The Arcade and again I’m so excited to see more hair releases from them.

Hiiiii! I’ve been gone a few days with RL so I just wanted to do a quick, pretty pic today with some things that came out while I was gone.

First a new low ponytail from Truth, I love the casual relaxed style. This dress I’m wearing was out from Miel for Fifty Linden Friday last week, although you can usually find items in the store after. It’s a really sweet peasant style dress, again casual and perfect for me running barefoot round the grid. I added the bolero from Chronokit that came out a couple of weeks ago, it’s such a sweet addition to any outfit and is only 100Ls, seriously such a bargain!

The Next Day and The Next Day

There was a discussion on Plurk a few days ago about whether or not people preferred their favourite brands to participate in regular events, or to put out releases in their main stores. I am definitely a store shopper, mostly I can’t be bothered to trawl through the marketplace, so I do visit my favourite stores fairly often, and I’d like to see more releases in them, but I also still get excited about a few of the regular events and always try to go on the days they open. So basically, in my ideal world, creators would have a clone of themselves so they can participate in all the events all the time, as well as put out regular store releases 😀

I did notice though that I tend to blog more things that are sold at events, rather than main store releases. I think this is most likely because when a new round of whatever event opens, I buy a ton of stuff from all different creators and can easily fill my inventory up with things to blog for an entire week or two from just one event.

Anyway, in an effort to blog more store releases and not just event items, I decided to show this cute tank dress from House of Fox that was released a week or so ago at their main location. I’m absolutely in love with the denim version and have worn it almost every day since I bought it. It’s so easy to glam up or style down into a more casual outfit that I think it’s an absolute essential for a virtual wardrobe.

I’ve also added the new hair from Wasabi Pills that was out for C88, I don’t wear many short dos but I haven’t taken this one off! It’s such a classic style and the headband is a great addition. Another favourite of mine from this months Collab are these shoes from Milk Motion that I’m wearing. They’re add ons for the SLink feet and I can’t tell you how excited I am to see more and more of my favourite designers making add ons for these. Although I, of course owned plenty of shoes in world, 9 times out of 10 when I was getting dressed for the day I’d normally have gone barefoot, but not anymore! Now I just need SLink to make the tip toe version of the feet available for add ons too, coz I do love me some high, high heels.

The last bit of new are my vintage style sunglasses from Glam Affair at Collabor88 and the cute pose is one of several from Kirin’s new Florence set out there too.

Collabor88’s 2nd anniversary is now open! I can’t tell you how excited I’ve been for this the last few days, seriously on the edge of my  seat with anticipation and I really wasn’t disappointed. There are so many amazing designers and fabulous releases in this round. I’m pretty sure we’re gonna be seeing flapper girls for days all over Flickr and the feeds, but I don’t mind that because it’s all so sparkly, shiny and new!

It’s been a while since Harper and I posted together, but I think our mutual excitement over this round really warranted it, so we threw on a few new pieces and snapped away. And yes, those are old Lelutka hairs we’re wearing, but IN OUR DEFENCE, we took these pics last night before C88 opened so we didn’t have the new hairs, and let me tell you, there are several gorgeous ones out there including a couple form Lamb who I was super excited to see included in this months Collab.

I’m wearing the new dress from Baiastice that’s out today, it’s a gorgeous 20’s inspired piece and the sheer overlay on the front makes it a little different from a lot of things already around and adds that extra bit of something special. The necklace is also a Baiastice release and I love it a lot a lot a lot!

The pose I’m using is from a set of several Burlesque poses that come with a cane prop from Kirin, you can definitely have a lot of fun with these and I expect to see tons of amazing pics produced with them.

See what I did there? With the title? As you like it, sass you like it I’m so lame sometimes, I swear. Anyway! I have lots of new things in this post that were released over the last few days while I was off in the magical world of RL so lemme get on to that!

First of all this top from Baiastice you can find at the latest round of FaMESHed that opened on Friday. I have to say I am loving the cropped top and high waisted skirt/pants/shorts look lately and if you see me around the grid I’m usually wearing some kind of combination in that style, so it was an easy decision for me to match the top with Drift’s latest release of this funky skirt at TDR Fusion.

I decided I wanted monochrome with a dash of brights since the belt on the skirt was so vibrant and I thought that this hair from Truth that was released last week looked great in white so that got added too, and the belted bracelet I’m wearing that’s new from JD at TDR Fusion was the perfect accessory.

Finally the pose I’m using is a new one from a set that Kirin just released for The Box event, make sure you check them out!

And Where We Walk...

Hi guys! I hope you’re all enjoying your summer, I am and honestly I think this is why I’ve been distracted from blogging over the past couple of weeks. Anyway this is just a quick post today because I wanted to show you the new weekend jeans from Drift and talk a little about the location I used for this pic.

The location is actually a main store for an awesome new (so new that it hasn’t even been open a week yet!) brand called Seven Emporium which makes the most gorgeous little knick knacks and deco pieces. Of course you can tell the sim is a great place for photoshoots, with lots of beautiful little areas hidden away for you to explore. I definitely recommend checking the store out if you’re after unique, original mesh decor and maybe taking a photo or three! Keep an eye out for Seven Emporium in the next round of The Mens Dept too!

Midsummer Style

Collabor88 opened yesterday with a new round and I tell you, I hardly knew where to start. There are so many gorgeous items out this month, lots of great SLink add on shoes and several really pretty dresses.

In the end I decided to show you the latest little number from Baiastice who are in this round as a guest. I don’t know about you but dresses for me are always the hardest to style. Seperate tops and bottoms are easier because you can mix and match, with dresses you really have to accessorize well to wear them differently. The cropped vest I’ve added from Toki Doki is one of my favourite items to do that with, I’ve worn it in blog posts a few times but it fits perfectly over a lot of other mesh items and can help to make an outfit just that little bit different.

Also new at C88 is the Lulu skin from Glam Affair that I’m wearing. Lulu is definitely my new favourite after I picked up several versions at The Arcade and so I was really pleased to see more released in my every day America tone to add to my collection!

My big statement earrings are new from Maxi at C88, they come in 3 different colours and are easy to resize if you’re not that into big earrings, personally, I love ’em. The last bit of new in this post is the pose from Kirin who are also appearing at Collab as guests!

I’ve used some old hair that was released over the last few weeks in my latest posts, I think a lot of designers are holding out on us since Hair Fair starts soon and I simply can’t wait! It opens on the 13th July and will run for 2 weeks. There is a demo group that you can join in world where the hair demos will be sent out on the 12th, that way you can try hair on at home and be in and out of the fair in no time on the 13th!
