Kids N' Hair

We have been fortunate enough to make it through 5 years without any serious hair problems. Alexa has always loved her hair and has never cut it. Well our good fortune could only last so long! This past month we have had 3 hair incidents that I felt were worth blogging. The first one was the American Girl hair cut, no it couldn't have been the $5 dollar barbie she decided to practice her hair cutting skills on where would be the fun in that? It had to be the American Doll.
This is what alerted me that there had been some hair cutting going on. I went in her room to put laundry away and this is what I found in her bottom drawer.Next is the fly trap. Alexa and Kennadee were playing ball in the garage at Kamie's, the ball hit the fly trap it fell down right onto Alexa's head! She was freaking out, "There are bugs in my hair, there are bugs in my hair!" It took some tears to pull out and then several shampoo's with combing to get all the sticky stuff out.

And last but not least, the slime. Alexa and Kennadee (yes it was the 2 of them once more) got slime from pirate pizza. Kennadee thought it would be a great idea to put it all over her face, unfortunately her hair was down. It is hard to tell from the picture but there is about half a jar of slime in there. Of course I was babysitting her when it happened so I couldn't just send her home to Kamie. It took lots of shampoo and combing to get it all out.

Needless to say I am hoping that we have now had our share of hair trauma! Of course with these 2 you never know :)

Trout Catch

We went to Oak City days and they have a live trout catch, they make this little pond and then the hatchery comes and fills it with fish. Then they turn the kids loose to catch them with their hands. It is pretty funny to watch. Uncle Jodi was coaching Alexa and Camden on the right way to catch one, apparently it worked because they both caught one right after they got into the pond. Alexa was so proud of her fish! We had it in the freezer in the garage and I noticed it was missing. I asked Alexa where her fish was and she said "In the back yard, me and Kennadee were playing with it." So there is was all thawed and on her swingset, ewww!
Alexa and Cam waiting to get in the pond.Looking for the perfect fish or one that would let them grab it.The scoop out of the water (that's what Jodi taught them)Nice fishy Cam, Alexa, Cody and Cole showing of their fish.
