The Beach

We went to the beach on Saturday and we had a great time! Winston LOVES the sand! He was covered in it before we could get sunscreen on him. He was even eating the sand, Yuck! Those diapers where a lot of fun! Ha ha!
Shaelyn, when we first got there was ready to turn around and go home 10 minutes later. After a 2 and 1/2 hour drive, I don't think so! It took her about 10 more minutes and she was having the time of her life! Go figure! She collected water and shells in her water bottle, over and over again.
And then she collected some more! We buried our feet and made sand castles. By the time we were ready to leave, Shaelyn didn't have any fears of the ocean waves. I don't know if that is a good thing or not.
So we had a great Sandy day at Topsail, NC. The beach was beautiful and the water was very easy to get used to. This beach comes highly recommended on our list of beaches to visit! On our way home we stopped by Dairy Queen, Walter was having a craving for a blizzard. The kids were out almost the whole way home. They had a great time playing on the beach. I think Kenzie had a good time too! She went on about how nice the water was. I thought the water was nice too! Walter tried to teach me how to body surf, lets just say I don't swim fast enough. I was tumbled in the waves a couple times but it was still fun! I'll do better next time and maybe I'll get some flippers to help me go faster! That was Walters' suggestion. I have to say that East Coast beaches are a lot warmer than West Coast beaches. I still miss them though!

Revenge of the Cushion

So Saturday I was helping a friend move, when one of my other friends had the bright idea to toss me the couch cushions from the second story to save some time. Well, by some freak of nature, I broke my finger when I caught the cushion. I went to the emergency room later that night, I wasn't sure if it was really broken, and after xrays, was given the lovely splint that you see in the picture. I made some alterations, more holes, so that my skin would stop turning white. Everything should heal just fine, and this will not keep from water skiing in July.
