Undertale 2 Game Chp. 1 Release! (Deltarune)

deltarune_logo

OKAY LISTEN UP! If you have ever played Undertale or seen someone play Undertale then you guys need to hop on this now! This isn’t going to be a long post about the game, that’ll come later. This is just to let you all know it’s a thing and you should go play it.

Chapter One is the only thing that’s been released now as a Halloween holiday treat, it was literally released yesterday. Toby Fox the creator asked for a period of 24hrs silence on the matter, so respectively I will not be discussing what I experienced in the game, however, I will mention the fact that this game was AMAZING. AND that it was only the first chapter.

Can’t wait to see more of this and see how it all ties in. Here’s the link to it, it’s completely free right now so go play the first chapter!

Five Nights at Freddy’s 4: The Final Chapter (We’re all gonna die!)

It’s coming! The end is nigh! We’re all gonna die! But seriously though, Five Night’s at Freddy’s 4 is in fact confirmed. Now despite the title of the game, whether or not this is the actual last game or not remains to be seen. Let’s be real anything is possible with this franchise. FNAF 4 will be released this Halloween.

Now, there is a lot of speculation about what this game is gonna be about but we’ll get to that in a bit. First, let’s address what we know. First, what in the name of all that is holy is coming out of Freddy’s stomach! If I’m right, I believe that those are mini animatronic Freddy’s. LIKE ONE WASN’T ENOUGH! Freddy and Golden Freddy were bad enough but now we have these little hellspawn abominations to deal with! *shudders* Also, NIGHTMARE is clearly written there behind The Final Chapter. Not comforting at all.

Secondly, we have this picture of Scott’s HTML. Obviously the numbers 8 and 7 are used a lot in this. Now, to anyone who knows the story of FNAF knows that 87 is an important number. This can’t be a coincidence in sequencing or anything because they repeat enough and Scott is known for hiding things in his coding.

And if you google Cawthon’s page you get…

Now, for those who don’t know or if you forgot, 87 refers to the Bite of ’87. The bite of ’87 is an incident that is referenced in all three of the games. “The Bite of ‘87 was an incident that occurred in 1987 at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza; it is briefly mentioned by the Phone Guy in the first game. The details of this attack (and the identity of the animatronic responsible) are not given, but it allegedly caused the loss of the frontal lobe of the victim’s brain.

The incident contributed to a loss in the restaurant’s reputation, which resulted in a major drop in business. However, the restaurant would have closed down either way because of the conditions of the restaurant and the many health violations. Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 suggests that the attack occurs during the day after the game’s Night 6 (when Jeremy Fitzgerald is asked to work the day shift and to stay close to the animatronics).

As a result of the incident, the animatronics were no longer allowed to wander around the building during the day; the management decided to limit their free-roaming mode to night-only so as to “prevent their servos from locking up,” as stated by Phone Guy.” (Kotaku.com) Now because of this many assume that this is going to be a prequel game and that this game takes place in 1987 and explores the incident in depth.

There is a theory floating around out there that this is all just a nightmare that the kid or person who suffered the bite of ’87 is having as a result of that incident. There’s also theory that it’s Jeremy the night guard who is having PTSD from the job or that he was the kids who suffered the bite of ’87. Now these are all just theories and nothing is for certain.

All that we know is that we’re going to lose out minds with this one and more than likely Markiplier is going to burst into tears and have a screaming fest.

HALO 5: Guardians (Locke Armor Set, pics, and Limited Edition Info)

The Locke Armor Set trailer looks amazing! I may not like Locke but he is a badass (not is much as chief is though). The trailer above shows off some of things Locke can do both skill wise and armor and weapons wise. Not only that, but we get a  better look at the world we’re going to be in and the updated graphics for the vehicles. All in all, it looks pretty wicked.

Also, there is going to be a HALO 5 limited edition console! “The studio head for Halo 5: Guardians, Josh Holmes, has teased via Twitter that a special edition console for the upcoming shooter is in the works.

“There is a limited edition console coming, yes. It hasn’t been revealed yet, but it’s pretty sweet,” Homes wrote in response to a fan’s question if there are plans for an Xbox One Edition Halo 5.

@juliocurt There is a limited edition console coming, yes. It hasn’t been revealed yet, but it’s pretty sweet. 🙂
— Josh Holmes (@JoshingtonState) April 26, 2015” (ign.com)

So, I did some digging and went to HALO’s official site and found this, “The Limited Edition of Halo 5: Guardians delivers new digital content to enhance Spartan combat plus exclusive* items all wrapped in a uniquely designed steel book. And there’s a Limited Collector’s Edition, which is a premium edition of Halo 5: Guardians for collectors and Halo fans alike. The Limited Collector’s Edition contains the Limited Edition as well as additional content including a commemorative statue designed by 343 Industries.” (hallowaypoint.com)

I don’t know about you all but I am excited for this! I can’t wait to see what the Limited Edition Counsel looks like and the pics below have me wanting more. The site that I found the first picture talked about the tension between the ODST and the Spartans which results in these graffitied UNSC and Master chief posters.

Now, I can’t guarantee if the picture below is real or not but it looks pretty sweet if you ask me.

That’s all I’ve got news wise for HALO 5, I’m gonna keep my eyes open for any new stuff that comes up regarding the game and then I’ll post about it. Have a great day guys!

It’s Official, Silent Hills is Canceled

“In a brief statement, Konami said development on the game had ceased. “Konami is committed to new Silent Hill titles, however the embryonic ‘Silent Hills’ project developed with Guillermo del Toro and featuring the likeness of Norman Reedus will not be continued,” Konami said. Earlier today Konami said it would continue to develop games in the Silent Hill series.

There’s also reference to an image of Norman Reedus which supposedly disappeared from the official Silent Hills website. But as far as we can tell the image of the actor is still up. Perhaps it will be removed later today. Konami said it had removed the image of Reedus “because our contract period with him has expired”.

It’s pulling P.T. (playable teaser) from PlayStation Network “because the distribution period has expired”. This was a trial edition of Silent Hills, Konami said, intended to give players an idea of the game’s concept. While Silent Hills has been cancelled, then, but Konami promised to “continue to develop” the horror series.

According to photo journalist Matt Hackney on Twitter, del Toro made the revelation at a San Fransisco Film Society event last night. The director reportedly said during a Q&A about Silent Hills, “It’s not gonna happen and that breaks my greasy heart.” Since there hasn’t been any publicly released audio of this we’d normally classify it as a rumour, but then Norman Reedus confirmed the project being dead in the water on Twitter. “Super bummed about this was really looking forward to it. Hopefully it’ll come back around. Sorry everyone,” Reedus wrote in a tweet linking to an article on Fansided about del Toro’s quote.” (eurogamer.net)

*Sigh* We all sort of knew this was coming but it still sucks. This game is now officially dead before it even made it out the door. From what I’ve gathered this game isn’t going to be coming back either. You know how sometimes a game will be canceled and then picked back up again at a later time, yeah that’s not gonna happen here. The series will go on but this game is just dead.

I was really intrigued by this game and thought it looked like it could be the best one so far in the Silent Hill series. Also, it had Norman Reedus! I’m really hoping that they use Norman again because he’d be great in something like this and his character looked amazing.

I don’t know about you all but my gamer heart is broken right now.

Silent Hills Game Fate is Uncertain (also link to Markiplier’s Livestream for Charity)

“The “playable teaser” for Konami’s upcoming horror game Silent Hills will be delisted from Sony’s online marketplace in just four days. The publisher posted a notice on the game’s official website, announcing that come April 29, the “distribution period of ‘P.T. (Playable Teaser)’ on PlayStation Store will expire.

Ever since Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima’s position over at Konami was first called into question, the future of Silent Hills, which Kojima was set to work on with Guillermo del Toro, has looked shaky at best. Konami has yet to provide a formal update on the status of Silent Hills, but if the removal of P.T. from the PlayStation Store is any indication, the next entry in the long-running horror franchise could be a bit further off than fans had originally hoped.” (ign.com)

I am so sad about this! I was really looking forward to this game. I’m hoping that it’ll still come out because this is a really good horror series and it’s got Norman Reedus! Granted it won’t be the same without Kojima but I really don’t want the game to just die. Hopefully these people get their crap together because it’s not fair to the gaming community to give us a P.T. and then to pull it and put the game into jeopardy.

Anyways, that’s just a short little update that I thought you guys might be interested in reading about. I know it’s been a few days since I’ve updated and I apologize for that. It’s the last few weeks of school, finals week is upon us, and the Wi-Fi has been crashing every couple of hours over the last several days. So please bare with me here.

Also, for anyone who is interested Markiplier is doing a livestream today on Twitch to raise money for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. If you’d like to check it out, here’s the link http://www.twitch.tv/markiplier and don’t forget to donate!

Five Nights At Freddy’s Film in the Making

“Warner Bros. has picked up the rights to Five Nights at Freddy’s” (thehollywoodreporter.com)

You hear that everyone! Five Night’s at Freddy’s is going to be made into a film! “The feature adaptation will be produced by Roy Lee of Vertigo Entertainment as well as Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg of KatzSmith Productions.” (thehollywoodreporter.com) Now for those who haven’t played or seen someone play Five Nights at Freddy’s go look at one of our previous posts; in short this is a creepy, dark and twisted Chuck-E-Cheese style game.

““We’re looking forward to working with Scott to make an insane, terrifying and weirdly adorable movie,” said Grahame-Smith. “The story really lends itself to being a movie, and it taps into a largely unexplored niche of horror that a lot of people will be able to relate to,” said Cawthon.Lee was a producer on Warners’ Liam Neeson action thriller Run All Night and has the Poltergeist remake due to open May 22. Grahame-Smith and Katzenberg, meanwhile, are developing a Beetlejuice sequel.” (thehollywoodreport.com)

Now, this is either going to go really really well or really really badly. It’s either going to be an amazing film or it’s going to tank. We’ve all seen some fairly decent video game based films like Resident Evil (the first one), Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, Assassin’s Creed. And we’ve seen some really bad ones like Prince of Persia and Max Payne. Then there’s the ones who have the games who can’t stop making films and are either hit or miss: Resident Evil, Mortal Kombat, Tekken, and Street Fighter.

Hopefully, it goes really well. I’m holding out hope that it will be a really good film. I’m also really hoping that Mark Fischbach, aka Markiplier, is going to be in it. Let’s be real he is the face of this game. He’s the most well known gamer who has played this game. (You can find the first video of the first game down below)

Now, currently there’s no set date for the film to come out, no cast, or anything like that. So it’s safe to assume that it’ll be a couple of years until the film comes out. We’ll see what comes next!

Anyways, that’s all that we have time for today. Have a great day guys!

HALO 5: Guardians (There are Two Sides to Every Story… Hunt the Truth)

“Peace is shattered when colony worlds are unexpectedly attacked. But when humanity’s greatest hero goes missing, a new Spartan is tasked with hunting the Master Chief and solving a mystery that threatens the entire galaxy.” (halowaypoint.com)

For those of you who don’t know what Halo is, “Halo 5: Guardians is an upcoming first-person shooter video game. Part of the Halo franchise, the game is being developed by 343 Industries and published by Microsoft Studios. Serving as the sequel to Halo 4, the game is scheduled to be released on October 27, 2015.” (Wiki) The expected release date is October 25th, 2015.

There are two sides to every story and Hunt the Truth are the two main tag lines for the upcoming game. These will become important once you see the trailers below. As you saw in the trailer above, the Arbiter is back but to what extent or importance he plays in this game has yet to be revealed. The story, from what I’ve gathered, focuses on Locke and Master Chief. Now, I was not able to find the original trailer for the above video but all but a few seconds was cut out. In those few seconds though it was established that Master Chief went AWOL and Locke was sent to retrieve him and bring him back to UNSC. Whether or not these two are friends or not has yet to be determined.

Now, the link below to another trailer, but this is a special trailer. It’s an interactive one, and what that means is you can slow it down as it’s happening. What you should do is watch it once, then go back and do the drag motion with your mouse at the bottom and go frame by frame. When you do that you can see a series of words on the bullet which I’ll list below the video if you weren’t able to catch them or if you just didn’t feel like putting the effort into it.

//watch.zentrick.com/Aol2Sf/

The words on the bullet were: Son, Abductee, Victim, Orphan, Recruit, Soldier, Warrior, Ally, Hero, Savior, Traitor. Now, the importance of these words. All these words pertain to Master Chief. We know from the fourth game that children were abducted and experimented on and made into the fighting machines we know as Spartans. So that’s abductee, victim, recruit, and soldier. Obviously he’s someone’s son. Warrior is a given because we’ve played as Master Chief in four games, the guys a big deal. We also know he’s ally to the Arbiter. Hero for all that he’s done and Savior for saving them. All we don’t really know is… traitor.

For those of you who don’t know, Jameson Locke is actually in the HALO: Nightfall which is a TV series. Locke is played by actor Mike Colter who has been in a number of films including SALT, Zero Dark Thirty, The Good Wife, and Men in Black 3. So, what they’ve done is taken him from the TV series and made him an actual playable character in the new game.

Now, I don’t know about you guys but I can only thing of one reason why Master Chief would go AWOL, and this trailer helps support my theory. The only reason he’d go AWOL is if he found a way, or even a possibility of a way, to get Cortana back. I am ALL FOR getting Cortana back. Let’s be real guys, Master Chief and Cortana were a couple despite her being a computer program. He’ll stop at nothing to get her back.

I don’t know about you all but I am SO EXCITED for this game! My dad and I have followed the HALO series from the beginning. We started all the way back in HALO on the Xbox (the original, clunky, non-cordless xbox) and have followed it all the way up to this point. We have HALO: Combat Evolved, HALO 2, HALO 3, HALO Wars, HALO 3: ODST, HALO Reach, and HALO 4. Now, we don’t have HALO: Sparta  Assault or the Master Chief Collection but that’s because we don’t have an Xbox One (yet, we’re working on it). We even have the film HALO: Forward Unto Dawn and waiting to get our hands on HALO: Nightfall.

This video is titled: The Cost

And this video is called: All Hail

I don’t know what to think! I get now why the tag line is “Hunt the Truth” and “There are Two Sides to Every Story”. Honestly though, I’m gonna side with Master Chief until it’s proven otherwise that he’s guilty of something, and even then I may still end up siding with him. Anyways, I’m super excited for this game and can’t wait to get my hands on it. What do you guys think of it? What do you think of Locke?

Five Night’s at Freddy’s 3: The story, the good ending, and the bad ending

*WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD*

I don’t know about you all but I was really excited about Five Night’s at Freddy’s 3. In fact, I checked YouTube twice a day and watched Markiplier play the entire game in a week. Not only that but he beat the game and discovered both endings but he also beat Nightmare mode which is slightly similar to the 20/20 mode in the other games. Now, you actually find out more about the story from the mini games at the end of each level then from the main game itself. (I’ll include a link to 3 of the main videos below)

After the first two nights you no longer hear from the burnout surfer dude that introduced us to the game. You only hear the audio tapes that he left of the old security guy from the first two games. Now, the guy talks about how the animatronic suites doubled as wearable suites. That you had to be careful of the spring traps and and gears because if you accidentally touched them that they would shift and puncture your body, causing you to bleed out. They talk about a safe room that you can go to if you are bleeding out. More specifically they said that if you get hurt to please go to the safe room so you don’t bleed out in front of the customers. Also, it was emphasised that even if you’re bleeding out you should always wear a smile. (Yeah cos I’m gonna be smiling and trying to move if I’m bleeding out.)

In the mini games, and through Mark’s video’s, we discover that the room that you follow Purple Guy to is the safe room and that that’s why the animatronic’s can’t go back there. If you recall in one of the instructional tapes he states that the animatronics cannot enter the safe room, that something in their programming prevent them from entering it. Throughout these planned mini games that you play at the end of each night you play as each of the original animatronics: Freddy. Chica, Bonnie, and Foxy. However, on the last night you play as the Crying Child that was featured in the second game’s mini game. As the crying child you make your way back to the safe room where you find more children, Purple Guy, and an inactive Springtrap suite. You chase Purple Guy around the room until he ends up falling into the Springtrap suite. The suite fails and the animatronic parts clamp down onto his body, effectively melding him with the suite. Now this was hinted at in the game and in secret photos (below). This confirms the theory that Springtrap is a mesh of animatronic and human body parts.

So, FNAF 3 has two endings (as i previously stated), a bad ending and a good ending. The common ending to get is the bad ending which you can get just by completing the game. To get the good ending, you have to complete a series of hidden mini games that you discover by doing a series of different puzzles.

Now for the sake of clarity we’re gonna start with the good ending. Now, this is not a playthrough or a how to, if you want that then I suggest you watch Markiplier’s let’s play of the game. Now in each mini game you play as one of the animatronics from both the first and second game, including Golden Freddy. The goal is the take a cake to each of the crying children. By completing all of the mini games, and giving all the crying children cake, you then get the good ending. Apparently the crying children are the souls of the murdered children from the previous games and the setting for the mini games is Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria in it’s hay day.

That their souls were trapped in the pizzeria and they inhabited the animatroic suites. One of the running theories is that purple guy killed the first kid who’s soul took over Golden Freddy’s suite. Then Golden Freddy, with the soul of the child, lured several other children to a safe room where Golden Freddy killed them then stuffed their bodies into animatronic suites. Those kids souls took over those suites and because they were killed so brutally their souls remain, and that because Purple Guy (a security guy) killed them they come after you (the current security guard) at night to try and kill you. The reason they aren’t active during the day or try to kill the children is because they still want to make children happy and that they don’t want to hurt kids. So, by giving the children cake you put their souls to rest and they leave the aniamtronic suites. Thus ending the Freddy saga.

Now, the bad ending is when you either don’t free all the souls or you just don’t free any of them at all. So, obviously the good ending takes a lot more work, and by the looks of things these mini games are a bit hard to do. Not because they’re complex but because you sort of have to ‘break’ the game to get it right. You’ll see what I mean if you play it or watch someone play it.

Finally, the game itself is not as hard as the previous ones. This game is based more on skill then the last two were. Plus Springtrap is the only anamatronic and it’s not hard to keep him away if you use your audio cues correctly. The hallucinations are more scary then Springtrap.

This post went on longer than I intended for it too but I hope you enjoyed it and I encourage you to check out Markiplier’s playthrough of the game. The Nightmare level is below. I hope you all have a wonderful day and let us know what you think of the new Five Night’s at Freddy’s 3 game.

Five Nights at Freddy’s 3 is Here! (Including video of the 1st 2 nights played by Markiplier)

“Thirty years after Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza closed it’s doors, the events that took place there have become nothing more than a rumor and a childhood memory, but the owners of “Fazbear’s Fright: The Horror Attraction” are determined to revive the legend and make the experience as authentic as possible for patrons, going to great lengths to find anything that might have survived decades of neglect and ruin.

At first there were only empty shells, a hand, a hook, an old paper-plate doll, but then a remarkable discovery was made…

The attraction now has one animatronic.” (steamcommunity.com)

This is the setting for the newest Five Nights at Freddy’s game which was released the other day. Now, above is a video of YouTube Gamer Markiplier playing the first two nights of Five Nights at Freddy’s 3. Again if you’re going to watch anyone play this game I highly suggest you watch him or Jacksepticeye. If you’re going to play the game or if you don’t want to hear any spoilers yet then this is your warning.

Okay, so this game is set far into the future and it is decrepit and creepy as all get out. You have 15 cameras to flip through now, 10 in the different rooms and 5 in the vents. You can also block off one vent at a time. You have an audio of some kind that attracts the animatronic, you also have 3 systems on a separate menu screen to look after: audio devices, camera system, and ventilation. If one of the systems starts to go down you have to reboot it or risk creepy and scary hallucinations.

But the real kicker, the scariest thing above all else is that there aren’t multiple animatronic’s after you… there’s only one. Some hellish, decrepit, abomination that has a very human-esque like movement to it at times. You would think that since it’s only one animatronic that it surely couldn’t be that hard or that scary for that matter but you’d be surprised. Kaitlyn and I (Kendall) screamed and jumped when the freaky thing appeared.

We’ve only seen the first two nights but it’s already way scarier than the first two games. There’s a mini game that appears after you defeat each night, and it tells story of some kind that I’ll let you see for yourself (you can see it in the video above).

Again this game looks creepy and scarier than it’s previous counterparts. We applaud Scott for this game and for not making it exactly like the other two. Now, you can buy this game on Steam for $7.99, a link will be provided below if you wish to buy it. This is a single player, action strategy horror game made for the PC.

I’ll probably make another post about this game in the future once Mark finishes it, unless you guys want me to make a post with each video that comes out. Let me know what you guys think, and what you think about the new game.

Jumpscares and Screams Galore! (Five Games that made us lose our minds and our voices)

Kaitlyn and I (Kendall) are not big into the whole horror thing but for some reason we enjoy watching others play horror games. (We don’t get it either) We’re also poor university students who can’t afford to buy these games and play them ourselves either. We watch two YouTube gamers, Markiplier and Jacksepticeye, play games all the time. They do a variety of games but some of their best videos are their horror game Let’s Plays. They scream and shout much like we do when the jumpscares and creepy monsters come out to play. Let’s Play is a video documenting a playthrough of a video game which includes commentary by the gamer. So, we decided to make a list of five games that got some of the best reactions out of us.

Now, these are not in any particular order nor are they the only games that scare us. These are just a handful of them. All of these games have gameplay videos out by multiple people on YouTube if you wish to watch them. You can also find trailers for them on YouTube as well. Here we go!

1. Five Nights at Freddy’s

Five Nights at Freddy’s is a 2014 indie point-and-click survival horror video game developed by Scott Cawthon. The game centers on the fictional restaurant Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, where the player must act as a night security guard, defending themself from the malfunctioning animatronic animal characters by tracking their movement through the facility using security cameras. Five Nights at Freddy’s was first released via Desura on August 8, 2014. On August 20, 2014, after it was approved by the service’s crowdsourcing platform Greenlight, Five Nights at Freddy’s was also released via Steam. Ports have been released for Android and iOS.

The player must survive their shift, lasting from midnight to 6:00 a.m. (approximately 8 minutes and 36 seconds of real time, 4 minutes and 30 seconds on the mobile and tablet editions), without being attacked by one of the animatronic animal robots roaming the facility. The player, who sits in an office and is unable to move, is given access to a network of security cameras throughout the facility to track the movement of the animatronic robots. Four of the five characters have distinct movement patterns; however, most of the characters’ movements take place off-screen.

The camera feeds are dimly lit and distorted, one of the rooms only contains an audio feed, and the cameras do not cover certain areas of the building, most notably the two hallways directly to the left and right of the player. The player cannot leave the guard room, but can close the doors to defend themselves, and briefly turn on lights in the hallways to check for animatronics. Use of these actions consume the player’s limited electrical power; if the power runs out, the cameras become inoperable, the doors open, and the lights go out, leaving the player with no defense against an attack. Once these things happen, music will play, it will go pitch black, and Freddy will jumpscare the player, losing the game.

The game has five levels comprising five “nights” in the game, which increase in difficulty. Completion of the game unlocks an even more difficult 6th night level, and completion of this level opens up a “Custom Night” level editor where the player can adjust the AI difficulty of the individual characters.

There is a sequel that is currently out and a third game is supposed to be released some time this year. The sequel has more animatronics a different layout but the same controls as well as a couple of new “attack” methods, as it were.

This game is all about the jumpscares. If you can’t handle things popping out at you and screeching at you then this game isn’t for you. This game really gets your heart pumping as you try and keep the Chuck-E-Cheese type monsters at bay while running down the clock. But what really made us enjoy this game was watching YouTuber’s play them. More specifically Markiplier and Jacksepticeye, whose reactions to these scares are priceless and will have you rolling on the floor laughing. (Links for both of their channel’s will be provided at the bottom of the post.)

2. Silent Hills

Silent Hills is an upcoming survival horror video game for PlayStation 4, and the ninth installment of the Silent Hill franchise. It is being developed by Kojima Productions, and will be published by Konami. It is being directed by Hideo Kojima, with assistance by film director Guillermo del Toro. Actor Norman Reedus from The Walking Dead will provide motion capture for the yet unnamed protagonist, as well as provide his voice.

An interactive teaser for Silent Hills was released on 12 August 2014 as P.T. (Playable Teaser).. Published on the PlayStation Network for the PlayStation 4 as a free download, P.T. uses a first-person perspective, in contrast to the usual third-person perspective often found in the Silent Hill series, and centers on an unknown protagonist (who you later discover is Norman Reedus’ character) who awakens in a house and experiences supernatural occurrences; the only actions available are walking and zooming as the player character explores the continuously looping corridor. After the player solves the final puzzle, a trailer reveals that it was a playable teaser for the newest Silent Hill game.

In an interview, Kojima later mentioned that P.T. was intended to take players at least a week to find the solution and expressed surprise that it was finished on the same day as its release. He chose the corridor as the setting of P.T. instead of “a ruin”, because he wanted the teaser to emotionally affect the player regardless of “cultural background”. Kojima wanted fear from an inescapable world with very minimal information to affect the player. The P.T. has been downloaded over a million times. Giant Bomb gave the Best Horror Game award to P.T. in 2014. P.T. won “Scariest Game” at Bloody Disgusting’s FEAR Awards.

We were completely freaked out and terrified by this and it was only the P.T.! God help us when the actual game comes out! We screamed and hid behind each other multiple times throughout the game. We also discovered by wathcing multiple people play it that there is so much detail in this P.T. For example, in one scene you’re supposed to go over to where the phone is and look at the wall beside the phone where a message is written in blood. This isn’t so creepy, but what most people miss is that if you turn to your right and look out the barred window you’ll find the dead wife has her face pressed against the glass and is spazzing out. Now that’s creepy as all get out!

3. Slender Man Games

Slender: The Eight Pages, originally known as Slender, is a free, downloadable, indie-developed first-person survival horror video game released in June 2012 as a beta for Microsoft Windows and OS X, utilizing the Unity engine. The game is based on the folklore figure simply known as The Slender Man, who is depicted by people, or so-called ‘survivors’, as a tall man with a white face with absolutely zero facial features, who also wears (also described by so-called “survivors”) an all black suit with a red tie around the neck area. He is also known for the ominous abduction of countless children in dark mysterious settings, such as deep forests and abandoned buildings.

Slender: The Eight Pages is set in the middle of a dense Forest during the middle of the night, and is played from a first person perspective. The player’s objective is to collect all eight pages located in various areas of the forest whilst avoiding the Slender Man. As the player collects pages, the fog in the forest grows thicker, and Slender Man appears closer to the player’s character, though the sprinting speed slowly increases as well. Slender Man moves by teleporting, creeping around the player, but only from a certain distance. The player is equipped with only a flashlight to see through the dark (its battery life is limited and will eventually shut down permanently if left on for an extended period of time).

The player’s character has the ability to jog, which will eventually, however, tire out the player and make him wheeze, if the jogging were to go on for too long. Slender Man will occasionally appear in the player’s field of vision, accompanied with a loud piano slamming noise and/or static on the screen. This then allows the ability to sprint to become available to the player. Sprinting allows the player to move faster than jogging does, but will also decrease the maximum stamina available for jogging and sprinting. A game over occurs when either the player has taken too long to find a note, the player stares at Slender Man for too long, or if Slender Man comes into contact with the player, which will turn them around and end the game. The game over screen shows Slender Man’s face up close and blinking static pulses.

Slender: The Arrival is a video game developed by Blue Isle Studios as a sequel to Parsec Productions’ Slender: The Eight Pages. It was released on Microsoft Windows and OS X on March 26, 2013. A Steam version was released on October 28, 2013.The game was released on PlayStation 3 on September 23, 2014 in North America and September 24, 2014 in Europe and Xbox 360 on September 24, 2014 worldwide. Like its predecessor, the game is based on the Something Awful forums’ creation, the Slender Man.

The majority of the game takes place in abandoned areas (house, defunct mine, etc.), each with different objectives. Slender: The Arrival uses similar mechanics to its predecessor, The Eight Pages. The character is armed only with a flashlight. This limited defense forces a sense of helplessness, as the best way to survive in the game is to run whenever in danger. The Slender Man’s behavior changes slightly between levels.

In the first level, the Slender Man can be seen outside the window, and after going through the gate outside he can be seen on the top of hills well away from the player. In level two, he most often teleports off-screen or just out of the character’s line of sight, but is capable of appearing directly in front of the player. It is observed that his motion centers around following the player, but consists largely of jumping from place to place, the inconvenience of which is increased as each of the eight pages are collected. His behavior is much the same as this in level four, except more active. In level three, he pursues much less aggressively, serving less as the main antagonist of the level and more as a scare tactic, though is capable of teleporting directly in front of the player and ending the game.

In this level, the main antagonist is a girl who chases the player (most often following her path directly, but has been seen teleporting. It is unknown whether this is a glitch or an in-game mechanic). The only way of subduing her is by focusing the flashlight (on its second setting) on her. While looking at the Slender Man, the camera succumbs to electronic distortions such as static, blurring, color spots, audio distortion, etc., which obstructs the player’s vision unless facing away, and far enough from it. The player cannot pause while this occurs, to prevent them taking a break due to being frightened. When caught, the death screen is also different; while in Slender: The Eight Pages, the player saw a white static background with Slender Man’s faceless head, the one for Slender: The Arrival is black, with an overhead-lit and color-distorted hue and less static.

There are also new choices in difficulty (which must first be unlocked by completing the game once) being easy, normal, and hardcore. The differences being that hardcore allows the flashlight to run out, enemies are more aggressive and the player’s stamina runs out quickly. Easy has infinite flashlight, a great deal of stamina, and the enemies are not very aggressive. There are eight chapters, a secret chapter, and three endings for chapter five (original ending, hardcore ending, and steam ending).

The concept of these games is terrifying for us, especially since it’s one of those flight not fight games. Needless to say we jumped several times during the first one. The second game though really freaked us out, mostly because of the addition of what have deemed The Slender Children. Those little creeps are just terrifying.

4. Outlast & Outlast Whistleblower

Outlast is a first-person survival horror video game developed and published by Red Barrels. The game revolves around a freelance investigative journalist, Miles Upshur who decides to investigate a remote psychiatric hospital situated deep in the mountains of Lake County, Colorado. Outlast was released for Microsoft Windows on September 4, 2013 and on February 4, 2014 for PlayStation 4 plus users. Outlast generally received positive reviews from critics and it was praised for its horror elements and gameplay.

Outlast centers around a story driven survival campaign told in first-person narrative and set in a dilapidated psychiatric hospital overrun by homicidal patients. Its presentation is similar to the found footage genre popularized in horror films. The protagonist, reporter Miles Upshur, is incapable of combat, except for scripted sequences allowing him to shove enemies out of his way. Without any traditional weapons, players have to navigate the facility’s ransacked environment with parkour: vaulting over low obstacles, crawling, and sliding through narrow gaps. In addition, Miles may survive encounters with assailants by hiding inside staff lockers or under beds; more intelligent opponents may search the room for an allocated period before moving on.

Miles carries with him only a notebook and a camcorder, with which he plans to document the horrors within the asylum. It has a night vision option for use in the asylum’s many unlit sections. Use of the IR mode consumes batteries, which must be scavenged and replaced as the story line progresses. Plot details unfold through notes taken by the protagonist as footage is recorded through his camera, as well as manila folders scavenged from the environment.

*Note, both of these games are extremely gory, bloody, and should not be played by children or preteens. Both Outlast and Outlast: Whistleblower are rated M for Mature for Intense Violence, Blood and Gore, Sexual Content, Nudity, Strong Language. This is not a game for the squeamish, weak of heart, or easily frightened.

Outlast: Whistleblower (also known as Outlast: Story DLC (downloadable content)) was developed and published by Red Barrels Games. The game starts as a prequel to Outlast, revealing the reasons behind Mount Massive Asylum’s outbreak, while simultaneously overlapping with the main story to reveal its conclusion from the previous cliffhanger. It was released for PlayStation 4 and PC on May 6th, 2014, and for Xbox One on June 19th, 2014.

Similar to its predecessor, combat is impossible and the player must either run or hide from their enemies in order to stay alive. The players can hide in various spots in order to avoid their pursuers, such as nearby lockers, bellow beds, in various corners or simply blending in with the darkness. Closing doors will impede enemies and squeezing through small spaces can lose them. Certain scripted events will require a specific action from the player.

The only item the player has access to is his camcorder, which is automatically acquired after the main character breaks out of his holding cell. The camcorder is battery operated and comes with a night vision function which is used to navigate through dark areas. Batteries can be found in various spots, usually nearby electronic devices, such as radios, Walkie-talkies, etc. While the camcorder is up and filming, the character will write his thoughts in a notebook. Along the game, the player can pick up various documents, scattered throughout the asylum, that provide a background story for some of the characters. The documents appear as blue folders with “CONFIDENTIAL” stamped on the front. Aside from scavenging batteries and finding documents, certain tasks will require for the player to retrieve a key.

This game was the first real Let’s Play playthrough that we had ever watched. Out of all the many playthroughs there were we picked probably one of the scariest ones we could have. We were, quite literally, clinging to one another hiding in my room and jumping at every sound imaginable. We were stupid first of all and watched it in the dark and then we locked the door so Bekah and Anna Beth wouldn’t scare us. That plan backfired on us, and we ended up chasing our friend down the hall only to find her barricading herself in her room. She left an apology gift on the floor outside my room with a note pleading with us to accept this peace offering in place of her blood and that it was an accident. We accepted her gift and continued watching the horror that is Outlast. This game is definitely the scariest thing we have seen so far, but it had an amazing storyline and plot.

5. Fatal Frame 2

Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly, known in Europe as Project Zero II: Crimson Butterfly and in Japan as Zero ~Akai Chō~ (零 〜紅い蝶〜?, lit. “Zero ~Crimson Butterfly~”), is a 2003 Japanese survival horror video game developed and originally published by Tecmo. It is the second installment in the Fatal Frame series, and is widely considered to be among the scariest video games ever created. Crimson Butterfly was originally released in 2003 for the PlayStation 2 and for the PlayStation 3 in 2013, and a “Director’s Cut” version for the Xbox in 2004 included some additional features. A remake of the game, titled Project Zero 2: Wii Edition, was released for the Wii in 2012.

The gameplay in Fatal Frame II experienced some changes from its predecessor. For most of the game, the player controls the protagonist Mio Amakura as she searches the Lost Village for (and sometimes, with) her twin sister, Mayu. Shortly into the game, Mio will obtain a flashlight, which can be aimed in different directions, although the flashlight will not work in all areas.Throughout the game, Mio will explore the village and its central buildings, finding various objects and solving puzzles in order to advance. The ghosts will often provide some backstory or hints to help Mio progress. Mio will encounter a variety of ghosts, each with different attack methods.

Mio’s only weapon is the “Camera Obscura”, an antique camera that has the ability to “take pictures of impossible things”. The Camera has two purposes within the game: both as a weapon and as a means of documentation. The camera uses a Ghost Filament which is located in the bottom right corner of the screen when the camera viewfinder is closed, and on the top of the screen when the viewfinder is open. This indicator will glow red in the presence of a hostile ghost and glow blue when a benign ghost is nearby. The intensity of the glow in relation to the direction Mio is facing serves as a sign of both the spirit’s location and proximity to Mio.

During combat, when Mio is looking through the camera, her health bar is visible on the right side of the screen (it is also visible in the game’s menu screen when paused). As with most games, if Mio’s health runs out, the game will end; the player can replenish Mio’s health using different healing items scattered throughout the game, including ‘herbal medicine’ and ‘sacred water’. The ‘stone mirror’. another item found within this game, will revive Mio from death once (the player can only hold one at a time). The camera uses different types of film as “ammunition”, with the weakest type (Type-07) being unlimited. The strength of the film types increases with their number: Type-14, Type-61, and Type-90. The strongest film type, Type-Zero, debuted in this game and despite its strength, has the slowest loading time.

The player can upgrade the Camera’s special functions and lenses using the ‘Spirit Orbs’ found throughout the game and the points earned from photographing ghosts. The points are based upon the difficulty of the shot and the level of film used; the stronger the film and the closer the spirit is to Mio, the more points the player will receive.’Shutter Chances’ occur at different moments during combat, most commonly right before a spirit attacks Mio. When a ‘Shutter Chance’ occurs, the capture circle will glow. If the player upgrades their camera equipment, they can make ‘Shutter Chances’ easier to identify.

Outside of combat, the player has the opportunity to capture fleeting photographs of nonviolent spirits as they move through the environment. These photos will also yield points for the player, if they manage to capture them in time. There are also multiple endings to this game such as the Lingering Scent ending, which leads to an automatic game over, if the player instead chooses to pursue Mayu insted of going alone, they have a chance to obtain the other endings like the Crimson Butterfly ending, the Hellish Abyss ending, and the Promise Ending (added to the Director’s Cut version). Two new endings are included in the game’s Wii Edition: the Shadow Ritual ending and the Frozen Butterfly ending.

This game had a really good story line and plot. Some of the ghosts were incredibly creeping looking and several parts of the storyline were terrifying and made us jump. It definitely gave us chills. We found the multiple endings to be happy, sad, creepy, and some we just went “NOPE“. The end credits song is beautiful by the way and worth listening too.

Now, like I said earlier all of these games can be found on YouTube and I highly suggest you watch Markiplier and Jacksepticeye play them. These are two of the funniest and nicest YouTube/Gamers out there. They really love what they do, they keep it real, they’re down to earth and above all they really care about their viewers. They call their channels a community and treat it like family which is what why we love them so much. As promised, the links to their channels are provided below. I hope you enjoyed this post and that you will continue to stick with us.
