Summary
This report examines how deep funding cuts are reshaping food security, nutrition, and livelihoods among the country’s 1.9 million refugees—the largest refugee population in Africa. Drawing on household data, market analysis, and extensive field interviews across settlements, the study reveals steep reductions in food assistance, unprecedented ration lows, and a sharp decline in the number of refugees supported. It highlights significant drops in dietary diversity, rising malnutrition risks, and increased exposure to negative coping strategies such as child labour, asset depletion, distress migration, and protection risks.
