Disruptive Technology
I don’t know about you, but I love SF. Deeply, madly. I also _want the things they keep dangling in front of my nose. Now. Today. This very minute. Like time travel, like real-time holographic communication , like my own holodeck, like a dress that will monitor my health, detect and detoxify toxins etc. (no, not sure why I actually want this one; tho suspect it could be ace in combating my mood swings 😉 ). Or yeah, and a flying car while I am at it (as seen in the Blade Runner, methinks), and a teleporter. Gimme gimme gimme.
The thing is, can they disrupt us with the technology faster, please?!! It’s really not OK to wait this long. Am running out of patience here!
Who wants to live forever?

According to Hindus, all of this is just Shiva’s dream. This is the only thing I’ve taken out from a rather dull course of the world religions. There’s absolutely no reason why he can’t be dreaming about more than one universe. In fact, there’s absolutely no reason why he can’t be dreaming about parallel universes, for that.
This post was going to be about String Theory. Because of its being the theory of everything, because of a poetic way of showing that our Universe is fine-tuned to play a specific symphony etc. Marvellous. Besides, I did like the particle physics, for some bizzare reason of mine.
And then I’ve done a tiny bit of digging. And it looks like there’s also now another theory, this time about parallel universes. With a heavy dose of quantum mechanics thrown into it. To put it simply, the ghosts, spirits and other things that go bump in the night, may well be real. Of course, the present definition of real becomes rather redundant. This also means that we, well, can live for ever. So to say.
On a practical note, how do we know the scientists are NOT pulling our leg? Well, I’d have applied Occam’s Rasor to figure that out, if only I could grasp its concept in the first place :).
