I have learned and am learning skills through study and experimentation with techniques of wild life, experimental archeology, reenactment. I assume your name is in reference to the region of Italy. My grandfather was from Italy, up North in Spilinbergo. What kind of a bushcraft community is there in Italy?

Ciao!! Yes I live in Prato, a city near Florence! Have you ever visited your grandfather’s land? Here in Italy … I’ve found on the web lots of communities with a paramilitary survival view. I therefore have a rather different idea of wilderness, similar to Ray Mears or Kochansky, so I decided to follow bushcraftuk forum …

I have never been to Italy, I would love to go someday and see where my grandfather grew up. He had great stories of his childhood there. I too like Mears and Kochansky, I know some people who spent time with Kochansky. Thanks for the resources. Ciao.

Belated hello from Türkiye… just wanted to say “thank you”, I appreciate your recent ‘follow’, knowing how many interesting and entertaining blogs there are out there. It’s been a while I know, but a storm knocked out our village internet and phone, hence the delay!
Blogging since June 2013, my little corner of the world tries to offer an eclectic smattering of posts, from basic amateur photography, to sharing my travel adventures over the decades, as well as day-to-day happenings here on our fruit farm in southern Turkey. I also throw in a few of my observations on life and lighter-hearted stuff for good measure.

Thank you very much! So.. I’ve a question about the world of wordpress.. Is there a way to connect a wordpress.com blog with blogger? I’ve found that is possible to customize with programming but not for a simple blog.. Are there other ways? Thanks!!!

Never used Blogger myself. How do you want to ‘connect’ to Blogger? There are many things you can do with Wordpres.org (the pay version), but .com is a lot simpler and has much fewer customisable features – but it’s free.

Yes i know this.. I’ve used wordpress.org (it’s open source) but require hosting etc… Yesterday i commented a post on Blogger using my WordPress account, but the reverse operation I know that is not possible..is it not?

That’s a question about Blogger really, which is something I have never used… You can always try the WP help pages, they are pretty good, or even the forums, which I have found to be very helpful indeed.

I take both kids with me on all of my day trips. 2 yrs old is a perfect age to get them started. A carrier is a great idea, because my kids don’t like when the underbrush touches their legs. It can be challenging to keep their interest, so make sure you incorporate things they like. My kids love to snack and drink hot cocoa, so I always have plenty. I recently came across a magazine article that had a lot of ideas. Hi! … it’s common chestnut – Castanea Sativa , I shot this photo in a path not far from my home. We have a good recipe .. chestnut flour cake – ‘Castagnaccio’! 🙂 Ciao!

I’ve boiled, roasted, and eaten chestnuts raw, but I’ve never heard of putting them in a cake. I bet that is fantastic! Come autumn, I may be hitting you up for a recipe!

I promise to share the recipe used here! But the chestnut flour , centuries ago, was used in my area also to make ‘Polenta’ (like cornmeal mush)! In the past during a famine the people ate this chestnut polenta with herring, nowadays there is a festival where eat this!
