Win11Debloat

Win11Debloat is an open-source PowerShell script that automates the cleanup of any unnecessary items in Windows 11. It can remove preinstalled bloatware, disable telemetry and ads, adjust privacy options, and apply useful interface changes, among other things. It is designed both for users looking to safely remove unnecessary elements from their Windows installation and for administrators who need to deploy this type of automation across multiple computers at once.

How to run it and its modes of use

There are several ways to open Win11Debloat, but the easiest way is to download the ZIP file, unzip it, and run the file "Run.bat". When you do this, the command line will open momentarily, and then the program interface will open with an interactive menu. At this point, you have two options: Default Mode, which applies the developer's recommended profile, or Custom Mode, where you manually select each change, or a RunSavedSettings that reuses a pre-saved configuration and repeats it in a fresh installation. For more advanced deployments, Win11Debloat accepts command-line parameters: you can run everything in silent mode (-Silent), automatically create a restore point before making any changes (-CreateRestorePoint), apply changes to the default profile or in Sysprep mode (for images that will be cloned), and use Audit Mode before creating user accounts. This makes it very useful for homelabs, internet cafes, or support teams that want to set up all machines with the same configuration without having to go through them one by one.

Win11Debloat focuses on three key aspects: bloatware, privacy, and usability. In the preinstalled apps section, the first one displayed, the script can uninstall OneDrive, Copilot, Xbox App and Game Bar, the new Outlook, Power Automate, DevHome, various built-in UWP apps and, if forced, even Microsoft Edge (an option the developer advises against for regular users because Edge acts as a system component).

Privacy settings for Win11Debloat

As for privacy and telemetry, Win11Debloat disables the sending of diagnostic data to Microsoft, turns off most telemetry, removes ads and suggestions from the Start menu, File Explorer, and the Settings app, and disables Bing integration in search so that menu searches do not go through the Internet. It also features toggles to help you remove recent AI components such as Copilot in Windows 11, adjusting related policies and packages.

Interface changes that Win11Debloat can make

In terms of interface and quality of life, the program allows you to: align the taskbar to the left, clear items pinned to the Start menu by default, show extensions and hidden files, restore the classic Windows 10 context menu, disable mouse acceleration and Sticky Keys, turn off fast startup, and clear duplicate drive entries in the Explorer side panel.

My experience using Win11Debloat

When I tested Win11Debloat on my Windows 11 installation, the Default mode was enough to leave a much cleaner system in place: apps I never use disappeared, suggestions and ads stopped appearing, and search became local and fast without Bing being involved. The automatic creation of a restore point offers great peace of mind, because if you regret any change you make, you can revert it without having to reinstall Windows. However, as a power user, Custom Mode offered more options that I was interested in, such as enabling Windows Sandbox without having to go to the Control Panel and do it manually.

What I liked most about Win11Debloat and what could be improved

· What I liked most: Just how clear everything is in the interface and how easy it is to use, even if you don't understand what some of the functions are for.

· What could be improved: The program runs with a script in .bat format. To make it more user-friendly, it would be nice if it were just a standard executable.
