Taking a break from my usual temper-driving entertainment, I dabbled in a little game called Miitopia and came to this special scene, with a particular costume set and character mix which sparked an ounce of witty inspiration. I just so happened to cast favorite characters from my youth into this story. One of them, this redhead (though her hairstyle has been changed), you might know. Tell me which variation you like best. Enjoy.
Recently…relatively recently (time eludes me), I was asked to show some of my latest art, my obsessive poster designs. This year has been exceptionally rough on me, mentally, emotionally, physically. And, to compensate, I dove into a long period of obsessive poster designing (of the digital art variety). [I haven’t set up my “physical art” station since 2012, I think. I haven’t given up on it. But, right now, it just doesn’t feel…smart? to create physical art I don’t have a proper place to store.
So, here is a brisk sampler of my obsessive 2022 gallery.
Those first two sets of five images each are cropped samplers of something a fellow artist here requested. I occasionally craft works related to astrology, in this case Chinese astrology. Well, actually, I just like snakes and tigers, as animals. I get along fairly well with snake years (in Chinese astrology). I’m partial to one particular blonde earth snake, right now. [T.S.] Tiger years are a challenge, it seems.
The rest of this gallery is an incomplete blur of my recent work and will likely get fuller as I get/take time to make more “sample-size” pieces. I’m just scratching the creative surface. If you see anything you like, you should contact me about purchase/commissions (if you like the style of a piece and have an idea for something similar you’d like me to craft).
I’d appreciate your input on these last two images. Let me know which variation of Mysteria, from Filmation’s Ghostbusters, you like best. [I’m starved for audience input.]
Any questions about any of the above pieces? Don’t just feel free to….ASK! Say something. Okay? Don’t just “ghost the post.” Thanks for coming.
I’ve uploaded a lot of e-valentines over the past few years…A LOT OF E-VALENTINES! And, rather than upload another huge batch of new ones or take down some old ones that people might still enjoy, I am refreshing your memories with links to just about every past valentine page I’ve made here.
But, fear not. There will likely be other loving (digital) artworks for 2018, as well, as the whims fill my heart/mind. [I am sure I have a few in reserve yet to be uploaded, too.]
This week, I’m unleashing a mixed bag. Caution: Some of these are a bit adult (rated SL for suggestive language). [One reason you won’t likely find them at your local greeting card store.]
First, a selection for anyone who’s a bookworm looking for a little loving. Maybe you’ve been the object of someone’s gaze for some time. Maybe you’ve been eyeing someone from across the library, bookstore or cafe. Or, maybe, you are already the favorite read of someone and like to use some corny wit to express your gratitude.
You know the old riddle/joke about a newspaper…
Next, a flirty bit of bubbly, playing with the idea of a cork/corked bottle of enthusiasm. Breaking the ice.
Something for the cats…
swat kats
swat kats
…and the bats…
And, a few for those who can’t find the words to cool someone’s jets, set them straight, open discussion about a surprise addition or keep the unwanted at a distance…
For women who have the power…to be grateful (or keep a secret).
And, for people who watch British TV at an odd hour.
It’s official. Another Thanksgiving is in the leftover pile. And, the (winter) holiday season is upon us. Last year, I was hung up on sweaters and hearts. This year I’m mad about STOCKINGS!
Dec. 6th is just around the corner. And, that means it will soon be time to hang your stockings by someplace other than too close to any fire. St. Nicholas brings all the good kids fun stuff and coal (or other surprises) to the naughty.
In that spirit, I have been busily slaving away at some primitive stocking designs with a splash of winter wit. [It started with a nephew and I whipping up paper versions for a class project/family cards.] Check these out. And, check back as more may crop up.
This, in turn, spawned a whole women’s boot design craze. But, I’ll save that for another post. 🙂
