Ten years ago, David Cameron fired the starting gun on the Brexit referendum campaign<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The four-month process, kicking off on 20 February 2016 and running until the decisive vote on 23 June, delivered political theatre: Bob Geldof and Nigel Farage shouting from rival boat flotillas<\/a> on the Thames, “Operation Croissant<\/a>”, a tearful UKIP poem recital <\/a>– and of course, the big red bus<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
