Who We Are

  • At Children Beyond Borders, our approach is rooted in lived experience, trauma-informed care, child safety frameworks, and ethical advocacy. We work collaboratively with communities, young leaders, and organisations to design programs that are culturally safe, evidence-based, and impact-driven.

We combine research, awareness-raising, advocacy, and creative initiatives to empower children, strengthen communities, and influence change. Every project we plan, whether in schools, OSHC programs, or international contexts including conflict zones, is guided by connection, respect, transparency, accountability, and long-term impact.

  • Our values guide everything we do:

    • Equity & Justice: Every child deserves dignity, opportunity, and the freedom to thrive.

      • Connection & Community: Relationships and collaboration are at the heart of meaningful change.

      • Respect & Cultural Safety: Our work is informed by Indigenous values and global human rights principles.

      • Advocacy & Voice: We stand alongside children in legal disputes, child protection systems, juvenile detention, and conflict zones to ensure their rights and wellbeing are upheld.

      • Hope & Empowerment: We foster resilience, potential, and the belief that every child can flourish.

      • Transparency & Accountability: We are open, honest, and responsible in all that we do, ensuring trust and integrity in our work.

  • Children Beyond Borders (CBB) is a youth-led initiative founded by a First Nations woman with Afghan heritage, united by a shared commitment to justice, compassion, and equity for children.

CBB grew from one simple idea: that lived experience, trauma-informed care, strong child safety frameworks, and meaningful advocacy are essential to real change. Born from real stories, resilience, and community, we are guided by culture, care, and connection.

We believe every child deserves safety, dignity, opportunity, and the freedom to thrive, regardless of their background, circumstances, or where they are born. Guided by Indigenous values of respect, collective responsibility, and self-determination, alongside global human rights principles, our work is ethical, culturally safe, and community-led.

While our programs are still in development, we are already working to raise awareness through research, articles, and advocacy, with plans to deliver educational initiatives in schools and OSHC, international projects in the UAE, food security initiatives in Brazil, and programs supporting children in conflict zones.

We conduct research, publish op-eds, and advocate for child rights and wellbeing, including supporting children in legal disputes, child protection systems, juvenile detention, and conflict zones. Through our dedicated CBB fund, we aim to directly resource our programs and initiatives to create meaningful, lasting impact.

We are driven by purpose, shaped by lived experience, and united by hope. Children Beyond Borders exists to uplift, empower, and advocate for children, beyond borders, in every sense. 🩷
