The Career Closet
CPDC Interview Center

The Career Closet is a program that allows CMU students to obtain business casual and business formal attire from a wide selection of clothing donated by CMU faculty, staff, alumni, and other professionals from the community. Started as a student initiative for Tartan Scholars, the Career & Professional Development Center (CPDC) has now expanded the closet to be available to all students.
Located in the CPDC Interview Center on the Lower Level of the Cohon University Center, the Career Closet is open Monday through Friday from 10 -11 a.m. and 3 - 5 p.m. during Fall and Spring semesters.
CMU's Career Closet has a wide range of items such as:
Full suits (jacket and pants and/or skirt)
Contemporary suit jackets or blazers
Shirts/blouses appropriate to wear under a suit coat/blazer
Dress slacks and pants
Skirts
Ties
Closed-toe dress shoes
We cannot guarantee the availability of all sizes and types of items.
Making a good impression and feeling confident as you navigate your journey as a professional is one of the most important things you can do to stand out. Dressing for success can make a huge difference and help you feel and look your best as you build your professional brand!
Want to Help Support CMU's Career Closet?
Thank you for your willingness to contribute to the CMU Career Closet. We are currently accepting clothing donations. Items can be brought to the CPDC Interview Center, Cohon University Center Lower Level, during our normal business hours (M-F; 9:00 am-5:00 pm).
While the Career Closet relies primarily on donations, financial support enables the CPDC to purchase items that are in greatest demand. It also helps fill any gaps in the Career Closet inventory to ensure students have the best experience in developing their professional wardrobes. We gratefully accept monetary donations of any amount.
If you have interest or questions regarding donations, please email [email protected].
