In Focus: Extending cooperation with Latin America

Drug trafficking is one of the most serious security threats facing Europe today, creating an illicit market with yearly earnings of at least EUR 31 billion. At Eurojust, we’ve seen steady increases in the number of drug trafficking cases we handle, often with links to third countries. To better tackle this crime area – among others – Eurojust recently signed Working Arrangements with the Prosecution Services of Bolivia, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador and Peru.
