Highlights
For the sixth time in a row, AGRI Committee will organise an event as part of the annual Gender Equality Week (GEW). This time, an exchange of views under the title of ‘Generational renewal is a gender issue: women as key drivers for generational renewal in the European farming and rural community’. Three experts from all over the Union will share their experiences, their projects and their ideas on how to promote and encourage young people choosing to become farmers.

The Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development will discuss a draft opinion to an own-initiative report on women's entrepreneurship in rural and island areas and outermost regions, on 2 October.
The AGRI Committee, in cooperation with the Legislative Dialogue Unit of the Directorate for Relations with national Parliaments, will organise an Interparliamentary Committee Meeting (ICM) on "Vision for Food and Agriculture - Implications at National and EU Level" on Thursday, 25 September, from 09.00 to 12.30.
The Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development will vote on the opinion to the proposal for the 2026 general budget of the European Union, and on the adoption of the Amending Regulation on the CAP simplification, on 24 September. AGRI members will also discuss the own-initiative proposal on the EU livestock sector.
The Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development will discuss the CAP related legislative proposals with Christophe Hansen, European Commissioner for Agriculture and Food, on 24 September.
The Joint ENVI-AGRI Committee (Committee on the Environment, Climate and Food Safety and the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development) will vote, on 23 September, on two legislative proposals about forests: setting up a Standing Forestry Committee and a monitoring framework for resilient European forests.
