Committee on Industry, Research and Energy

The ITRE Committee will take part in this year’s European Parliament Gender Equality Week by organising an exchange of views with the Representatives of the European Commission, DG GROW on The Role of Women in European Industry and Industrial Transition.

On Wednesday 5 November, ITRE and TRAN Committees will hold a joint meeting featuring a presentation of the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) proposal by the Commissioner for Sustainable Transport and Tourism, Mr Apostolos Tzitzikostas, and Commissioner for Energy and Housing, Mr Dan Jørgensen.

On 11 November 2025, the ITRE Committee will hold a Public Hearing on "Carbon Capture and Storage and Carbon Capture and Utilisation". Members will have the opportunity to discuss current challenges on these important technologies with a panel of four experts.

At the ITRE Committee meeting of 16 October, ITRE Members held a topical debate on the geothermal energy in the presence of external guests, including DG ENER, European Commission.

At the ITRE Committee meeting of 16 October, Ekaterina Zaharieva, Commissioner for Startups, Research and Innovation, presented the Commission's proposal for Horizon Europe 2028-2034. This was followed by a Q&A session with ITRE Members.
