From 20 to 23 July, a delegation from the Special Committee on the Housing Crisis in the EU travelled to Riga and Helsinki to examine housing challenges and innovative solutions. The four-day fact-finding mission focused on social housing policies, approaches to construction and renovation, the balance between the rights of property owners and tenants, and data- and evidence-based policymaking.
On Monday 13 July 2026, from 15.00 to 18.00, the Special Committee on the Housing Crisis in the European Union (HOUS) held a public hearing on alternative and innovative models for delivering affordable and quality housing across the EU.
On Monday 13 July 2026, the study on "Housing speculation in the EU: Corporate landlords, real estate trusts, abusive speculative behaviour and impacts on prices and transactions" was presented in the HOUS Committee.
