Anderson Lin, Senior Director of Business Development at Tencent Cloud, joins Game Developer editorial director Alissa McAloon at GDC 2025 to discuss industry trends, Tencent Cloud's approach to collaboration, and what sets the service aside from other cloud solutions out there. Recently recognized as a leader in the OMB market radar for games in Asia and Oceania, Tencent Cloud supports major game titles like PUBG Mobile and Honor of Kings, to name just a few.

Despite its familiarity to many developers, Lin says that Tencent Cloud still feels like "one of the best kept secrets" for game makers, due in no small part how Tencent Cloud prioritizes developer collaboration in feature requests and long-term support.

Lin discusses many of the trends he and the team at Tencent Cloud are preparing for, both in the current game development landscape and well beyond. One of the team's big focuses currently is on helping developers foster interactivity and socialization within their games, the question of how to get players to play together and socialize around games they love, and creating interactive tools to support and enable those experiences. AI is naturally another trend that Tencent Cloud has kept a very close eye on, and Lin explains that their approach to these tools has been one that provides practical assistance to developers that empower them to create games that are more interactive and fun but notes that AI is very much still an evolving landscape in game development.

Anderson Lin leads the North American sales and solution architect team for Tencent Cloud. He is an industry veteran with over 20 years of experience in enterprise B2B technology services. Before joining Tencent Cloud, Anderson held various sales and marketing leadership roles at Verizon Digital Media Services, ChinaCache, and Vertex Telecom. Anderson is an alumnus of the University of Southern California and the SC Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University.
