How many books will be in this series? I no longer start reading a series until all the books in it have been released. I'd rather read a series from start to end, instead of trying to remember what went before when the next book in the series comes out months or years later.

Where do the alien names come from? Species like the night drinkers are clearly a direct translation into human language. But what about the rest of the aliens that have unique names? Are those just transliterations that the half mind was able to make, the closest sounding vocalization to the species own name they give themselves?
