Well, Samantha. This is just my second buddy read so I'm not quite sure where to start. But I hope we have a good time together.

It is my 2nd one in this group but all we need to do is figure out what books we like and narrow it down to one we want to read together :)

Good selection. I'm kind of leaning toward Betrayal. Seems I've got that one in my Kindle already and just never got around to it. Seems like a nice quick read, too.

Oh, I tend to pop in when the mood strikes me. I read books like I'm sampling a buffet. A little here a little there. lol.

But how did you want to do the discussion? We can read a few chapters at a time and then discuss if you want.

up to chapter 5 right now. How are you liking it so far. I like the characters so far, it seems to be moving kind of slow though. idc. maybe it's just me.

It is moving slow. I think because it is moving between the past and present it is slow.

I am curious to know who is Nox.

Yes, the Nox character had me at hello. I'd like to learn more about him though. Though Information is coming in drips right now, though

Her family is working my nerves so far.

Oh yeah. what is his name? Alton? That story about him and the shears had me shaking my head... I like Jane though. she's cool

Alton? He got on my nerves. I would have run out of there. I am waiting for the real drama to pop off.

The shears scene showed how the house really ran. Everyone tells him everything. I would be a wreck there.

omg. YES! It seems the whole fucking town is crazy. Have you gotten to the party yet? They've got the city brainwashed. Thank goodness for Chelsea and Jane. I still need more from this Nox gut to let him into the club though. He's not revealing much and I'm more than one third of the way through.

I didn't see this last night. I crashed.

That party was crazy. Bryce...you got to go boy! I was screaming for her to run out of there. Everyone is there with these painted ass smiles being all creepy trying to get her to do something she doesn't want to do.

Now I'm worried they will use her trust fund as leverage on her. I need the stipulations on that. Serious.

I'm still suspect of Jane. Chelsea is my girl.

Nox is on the fence. I need more of him to know if he is cool.

Everyone else is an enemy. PERIOD. LOL

Oh, youre right. Jane DID do some suspect things. Gotta keep my eye on her. And that entire town is creepy as hell. Alton just took her childhood friend Bryce and possessed him like a demon. Nox is supposed to be my reprisal from all that mess, but He's not giving me enough wipe off that stank. Can't wait to read more tonight

I am up to chapter 13 which is midway. I think we are going to get more of her relationship with Nox.

Her family is pushing buttons. Toxic people.

I won't spoil chapter 20 but I have thoughts about where this is leading. Honey!!! Omg.

Her parents are scum. How dare they do this to her? My thing is why didn't she reach out to her attorney to get a copy of that contract? I would have read that with a fine tooth comb. She is going to be a lawyer for god's sake. Crazy.

I liked the time she had with Nox. I wanted more of that.

Yes, you called it, they screwed her over. Absolutely everyone in that family and everyone in Savannah, is a third level psycho. Started Chapter 20 though. Glad to know not everyone in their family inherited the sociopath gene... Maybe.

But the time she had with Nox was...O.M.G. Chapter 13 had me whipped. I definitely need me some more Nox.

The only one I am about is Nox. I need more girl. So much more.

I got the cat eye on Patrick. Trust no man. Lol.

Once they explained what Infidelity was, I kind of saw where it was going. I thought maybe he would be a client or owner or something and she would end up working for him.

I liked the writing and liked the way her time with Knox juxtaposed with her time at home. I think it's ironic that he's into control and humiliation, but it's when she's with her family when she really feels controlled and humiliated. And when she's with Nox, she actually feels free.

It's a shame it essentially ends on a cliffhanger though, but I think they purposely give you just enough of Nox that you end up wanting more. A year? With Nox? 😰😰 Sign me up, honey!

I wasn't blown away by the book, but I am curious about what Nox has in store for our Charli and what her parents will do when they find out that she told them to go kick rocks. I probably will buy the next one. What about you? What are you thinking?

Yes. I figured he was going to get to work for him in some way. I am looking forward to how that is going to play out.

That is a good point about the control and humiliation. I didn't realize it until you pointed it out.

I actually like the books. I would give it 4 stars. Of course, I want to read the next one to see more about her and Nox. I need to know since as you mentioned, it is a year with Nox. LOL.

We did finish our read early on in the month. Would you want to read the next book together this month?
