Brisingr by Christopher Paolini
"This wasn't as much of a slog as I remember it being, but it is covering several side plots such as the Ra'Zac, Eragon finding a new sword, the new dwarf king, etc. A few things:

- The Sloan plot is...ehh...I feel like Paolini really wanted to explore "deeper themes" in these sequels, with varying success.

- I do not remember the character of Blodhgarm AT ALL. I completely forgot about that weirdo.

- Katrina really does not have a character beyond being Roran's fiancee/wife. It doesn't seem to be problem with the author writing female characters, as Nasuada and Angela are two great, very different characters, but Katrina has no personality.

- Someone pointed out that it's unknown (view spoiler)

- The secret concerning Brom...I still stand by what I said in my review of Eldest. "

Haha yeah, for the most part, he definitely is. This book was good, but lacked the literary and psychological depth of a lot of his other work, opting rather for an enjoyable, fun read, that is definitely the lightest I have read from him thus far.
