pleasantly surprised by my first Dostoevsky in that he is wayyy more relatable than he has any right to be. the self-loathing on our protagonist is sweet in its familiarity. i won't go into detail to preserve my dignity but that internal monologue has mirrored mine on many, many an occasion ... what snark. what cynicism. this guy needs so much trauma-informed therapy"
