"I don’t often write reviews, but seeing people’s bad reviews have given me motivation.

I give this book a solid 9 stars out of 10.

I see a lot of people under lower reviews saying things like “not much happened,” or “it’s so weird that he instantly fell in love.” But I’d argue that neither of those things are true.

It’s not so much so that not much happened in the books as much as it is that most things that happened were smaller, and not all too plot heavy, rather than one big thing the whole book led up to.

I’d also argue that Hollis didn’t instantly fall in love,or lust, with Walt. But rather,it’s hard not to feel connected to someone when they can see wuite literally every part of you ,internal and ex. And it’s especially hard not to like someone when you can feel their emotions and hear their thoughts and they can do the same for you. It’s easiest to take comfort in being seen.

And honestly,what do you except from a book made for thirteen year-olds? "

" In the beginning, I was confused.
There wasn't a whole lot of world building in the first few chapters so some things were confusing. After getting a few chapters in, however, everything started making sense. I still don't understand why the clan hates kindreds so much though.
Overall, I wasn't sure what to expect from this book. I definitely didn't think it was going to have murder within it's pages. I loved it though, there's nothing quite like reading about someone figuring themselves out and of course the whole friends to lovers trope is absolutely divine.
If you are reading this book and are just as confused as I was in the first few chapters - I beg of you to read just a few more. Once you start getting into the nitty gritty of it all, everything becomes clear and you start really falling for the characters."
