"An unexpected GEM. The cover does not do this book justice. I went in thinking this would be a simple, overly-sweet little book but it turned out to be so much more. Rose was a fascinating character who really grew into herself. Bender did a great job showing how her ability was more painful than beautiful. The quiet images of a family held together by secrets and false ideas of each other was just...so real. Real and unreal at once. I won't spoiler, but the whole plot line with Joseph was intense and horrifying in such a visceral way. I think this book will stay in my mind for a long, long time. "
