IFAD launches call to mobilize Senegalese diaspora remittances and investments for rural development

The initiative forms part of the Diaspora RemitInvest programme financed by Italian cooperation through the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) and aims to channel diaspora resources to rural transformation, job creation and financial inclusion.

IFAD, the European Union (EU), and Hamkorbank, one of Uzbekistan’s leading banks, today launched a landmark programme to boost rural entrepreneurship and expand financial inclusion targeting nearly 4,000 remittance-receiving households and returnees—migrant workers that came back to their place of origin—in Uzbekistan.
